By all reliable accounts, the chit has truly hit the fan, worldwide, as hospitals overflow with covid-19 patients, new mutations of the virus that are up to 70% more transmissible leapfrog time-zones, while the body count rises rapidly along an exponential curve.

Other than these considerations, all is well throughout the known universe at this time, and there is no cause for alarm.

Both. If you look at what's being posted from formal sources, there's a de facto comparison of reports on variances in mutation, infection numbers (sometimes per capita, where it really matters in contrast) from different parts of the world (global issue, and all) and yes, personal anecdotes based on local or regional occurrences.

Is that an issue?

As a graduate of the prestigious University of Youtube, I will try not to be offended by this disparaging comment about my alma mater.

Regarding Farcebook, Twatter, Instacrap and other tell-all social media platforms, I have never so much as glanced at any of them even once in my life thus far, such is the importance I place on my privacy online.

Colchicine Reduces Complications in Outpatient COVID-19

https://www.medscape.com/viewarticl...25_mscpedit_&uac=348476AZ&impID=3153356&faf=1

__________________SNIP___________________

The oral, anti-inflammatory drug colchicine can prevent complications and hospitalizations in patients newly diagnosed with COVID-19, according to a press release from the ColCORONA trial investigators.

After 1 month of therapy, there was a 21% risk reduction in the primary composite endpoint of death or hospitalizations that missed statistical significance, compared with placebo among 4488 outpatients enrolled in the global, phase 3 trial.

After excluding 329 patients without a confirmatory PCR test, however, the use of colchicine was reported to significantly reduce hospitalizations by 25%, the need for mechanical ventilation by 50%, and deaths by 44%.

"We believe that this is a medical breakthrough. There's no approved therapy to prevent complications of COVID-19 in outpatients, to prevent them from reaching the hospital," lead investigator Jean-Claude Tardif, MD, from the Montreal Heart Institute in Quebec, Canada, told theheart.org | Medscape Cardiology.

"I know that several countries will be reviewing the data very rapidly and that Greece approved it today," he said. "So this is providing hope for patients."

Having been burned by hydroxychloroquine and other treatments brought forth without peer review, the response to the announcement was tempered by a desire for more details.

Asked for comment, Steven E. Nissen, MD, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, was cautious. "The press release about the trial is vague and lacks details such as hazard ratios, confidence intervals, and P values," he told theheart.org | Medscape Cardiology.

"It is impossible to evaluate the results of this trial without these details. It is also uncertain how rigorously data were collected," he added. "We'll need to see the manuscript to adequately interpret the results."

The evidence in the press release is hard to interpret, but early intervention with anti-inflammatory therapy has considerable biologic appeal in COVID, said Paul Ridker, MD, MPH, who led the pivotal CANTOS trial of the anti-inflammatory drug canakinumab in the post-MI setting, and is also chair of the ACTIV-4B trial currently investigating anticoagulants and antithrombotics in outpatient COVID.

Yep, it's listed as a 'dangerous chemical' in a number of places.

And despite the very promising presentation, there seems to be a LOT of unanswered questions, re. how the numbers were arrived at, re. the effectiveness of this specific 'chemical', with/for C-19.

Still, the presentation -seems- quite hopeful.

Time will tell... maybe.

I too have used colchicine for a polyploidal cytochrome inhibitor with cannabis.. it is classified as a Mutagenic toxin and can be very dangerous
Especially for prenatal embryos of pregnant
Women .....2 headed babies and shit like that
Also used in small dosing for gout

In Manaus, Brazil, there is a second surge of infections and this happens although the population already gained herd immunity. People should be immune, but they are not. Scientists assume that mutations are responsible for that.

New coronavirus variants could cause more reinfections, require updated vaccines
https://www.sciencemag.org/news/202...se-more-reinfections-require-updated-vaccines

just had a look at the beginning of this thread and found one of my old posts, dating on the 2nd Feburary:

...
My prediction: nCoV will come for sure all over the planet. And it will not disappear, you can get reinfected again and again and vaccinations will be as effective like the influenza vaccines: It will not protect you 100%, but only 60 - 80%,

And the first thing which will collapse is the economy.

And I still hope you are right and I am wrong and I just lose my head.

Weird to read the old discussions. People said the flue would be more dangerous and it would be a local problem in China and things like that.

The UK variant is on the rise in the Netherlands, but the new cases above are from the old variant and that is declining.
Meanwhile we have a curfew and riots because of the curfew.
