Coronavirus.. outlook

Hello ... I 'm far away from all the horror you are enduring in places like N.Y and Lousyanna but I am upset to hear the Toll of dead from African American communities. I understand why but shots of mass graves in N.Y. strike me as belonging to another more primitive era, or as the consequence of war. The Land of the Brave and the Free? I am so sorry for your situation.

That sounds like what I got. Its in the mail now. I got 13,500 seeds, organic, non GMO, 40 varieties. We already have thousands of seeds in our collection. I make veg seeds each year. Last year, I crossed my Purple Collard green tree to kale. They are both in the Brassica family
Sounds like the real deal...... Just like every canna bean no matter what seed dealer one buys from.... Are these seeds guaranteed to sprout 150 % before they've even left the bag.....with 7,5 pound yield per square foot, finishing in 4 - 4,15 weeks and going straight from seed to flower..... Lol

Having been seriously irritated by a person encroaching on my space at a large store recently, I can somewhat understand the Doc's anger.

It's easy to do, when I'm in line at Walmart.

it's easy to forget that I'm wearing a welding mask, with a machinist rag around my neck.

"oh excuse me i just want to get some gum" i might have mumbled something.

"EXCUSE ME CAN I GET SOME GUM" if you yell that and get 2019 close while you're reaching for the gum, well maybe they can hear me.

it's still like spring break there, about 2/3 of the people not wearing masks.

I already speak loudly for being hard of hearing, but lately I've had to yell from inside a P100, and when I'm speaking with a cashier in my age group, with similar difficulties, if you couldn't make out the specifics of the dialogue, you'd think we were old enemies, prepping to kill one another. Just really loud unintelligible mumbling, from a distance. Probably what some perceive in my posts here, anyway. :)

Animal studies give hope to a future where a pill could prevent COVID-19 infection
The experimental drug EIDD-2801 is being studied for its impact on coronavirus.

Animal studies give hope to a future where a pill could prevent COVID-19 infection
The experimental drug EIDD-2801 is being studied for its impact on
A team of scientists has shown promising early results in animal studies against coronavirus strains using an antiviral drug. The hope is that the medication could eventually be taken as a pill rather than an injection to protect against becoming sick with COVID-19.

There is currently no approved treatment for the novel coronavirus, which was discovered late in 2019.

This experimental drug, known as EIDD-2801, was initially developed for influenza and two other strains of coronavirus. Being tested to treat COVID-19 and slow down the spread, this drug might be used to prevent someone from getting COVID-19 in the first place, in addition to treating symptoms among people who already have the virus.

At this time, the drug has only been studied in animals, but researchers say human trials are expected to start mid-April in the United Kingdom

I heard that similar virus, SARS, simply went away ... ?

Phatty, Moose: It's easy to do, alright! I had some gravel delivered to my place and found myself farewelling the Contractor while standing on the truck's step only multiple inches from his face.
Mind you, we both live in the bush far away from many people.

Almost every pandemic, apart from polio (water born) and typhoid, burn themselves out in about two years. That's going back to the 1st century.

When a virus mutates, it's more likely to mutate out of contagion than get worse. So with every change it can easily disappear completely. There are only a few key changes that can make it worse. Millions of changes to kill itself off.

Keep in mind that those changes are random which is good for us.

Miami police launch investigation after doctor who tests homeless for coronavirus handcuffed outside home

Calling his work in the community “an act of civil disobedience,” Henderson organized volunteers, also clad in personal protective equipment, to help distribute tents and offer other services to the homeless despite the county’s orders to stay at home, The Miami Herald reported.

Sewage analysis suggests a New England metro area with fewer than 500 COVID-19 cases may have exponentially more
Epidemiologists are studying wastewater to gauge rates of COVID-19 infection.

The coronavirus mapping campaign represents one of at least two such projects nationwide currently analyzing sewage data for COVID-19.

Earlier this week, researchers at the lab in Somerfield announced initial findings from an unidentified "large metropolitan area" in Massachusetts, over a week in late March, indicating the spread of COVID-19 may be exponentially higher than has been reported.

Based on wastewater data, Biobot gave an estimate of anywhere from 2,300 to over 115,000 infected persons within the area sampled, though only 446 cases in the area had been reported. While the estimate had a very wide range, it was the discovery that there were likely many more infected people than revealed by numbers based on COVID-19 clinical testing alone that set off alarms.

I 'll bet you CAN get it from Camel Dung, Phatty. Have you been tested?

Can you get it from Camel Dung ?

I went to a concert in Central Park once and they were selling lumps of hash that looked just like the camel droppings at the New York zoo.

There was once a camel that ran for US president, but it didn't have a hump. That's why they called him Humphrey

I totally agree, probably not only CAN but WILL.... I was once a long time ago real close to a large herd of camels, huge terryfying beast a close range (I was sitting in an airplane overflying the Arabian peninsula) and that experience proved to me camel dung is so infested it's virtually 99% virus.....

Yep, definitely get tested after such an..... Ermmm..... exotic indulgence!

I wonder if that is a sign of people being non-smyptomatic, or the week of contagiousness before symptoms show up (is that true?)?

The carrier in Guam had 400+ positive, and 220+ non-symptom. Good data point?

In many areas testing has been restricted to 'the few' who the criteria indicates are justified. Even some with symptoms, such as the 38-year-old woman in Fairbanks, have had difficulty getting tested, despite LOTS of symptoms..

The less we test, and fail to properly isolate, the more folks spread the virus with fewer constraints; whether with symptoms or asymptomatic. But yeah, in terms of unidentified potential carriers, the asymptomatic folks are a greater hazard..

Native Regional Corporations serving the more remote Western, SW, and NW Alaska villages just received dozens of the newer 'instant test' machines. Unfortunately, they received limited numbers of test kits to go with them.

Like someone giving you a free Lamborghini, but the fuel tank is nearly empty, the nearest fuel station is 200 miles away, and the engine's 2-1/2 quarts low on oil. But hey, having a Lamborghini is pretty cool though, right? :)

A very good analogy
The greatest country in the world.
Did a simulation to be prepared, so everyone knew exactly what to do.

And a response failing in this magnitude can not be by chance.
Not one incident but failure across the board.
It looks and feels like abandonment to me.
But may also be intentional neglect.
Either way seems it should be criminal.
