Buy and hold physical silver and gold. If you can find any.

The premiums are so high I think it's a Fool's Errand to buy physical silver and gold right now.

In 2008, if you called a dealer they would offer to help you buy a 1000 ounce bar. All the smaller denominations you couldn't get for about 6 months.

Now you can't even get 1000 ounce bars. A lot of the mines are closed. Sort of surprising because they're not generally super concerned about worker health.

Current death toll for Covid19 is increasing at the rate of 11.3% a day, and tomorrow it hits 20K to make the math easy. 14 days of that 11% is 4.5x, 4 weeks of that is 20x.

In the financial community they talk about "the magic of compounding", re how a savings account grows if it has 6% interest or something. Well that's a financial asset.

I've been thinking the virus sounds like HIV and Herpes in terms of the way it infects people and seems to stay in their bodies. As it with Herpes, the first infection is a Whopper. Now I am hearing other people I respect say the same thing, that it behaves like HIV & Herpes. For which there is No vaccine.

I think our govs are really afraid to deal with it. They could wall off the highly vulnerable people and give everybody else a mask and tell them to get back to work.

Ford is still not dealing with the reality, they are re-opening a plant with 3 foot employee spacing, as if that is adequate. Well maybe they have big fans overhead. If they are smart they can manage the air-flow to protect the employees but it looks like none of the Fortune 500 have Cannabis growers as managers.

If you took many production lines and dropped them into the average well-ventilated cannabis greenhouse, you'd have a model for what they have to do to protect the employees.

The other thing I was wondering is, how many Cannabis plants you'd have to have to have true Oxygen supplementation, like people get from those tubes up their nose, when they walk around with bottles of O2.

Could you put Covid19 patients in a Cannabis greenhouse that has been adapted to maximize Oxygen instead of Bud ?

South Korea Says Recovered Coronavirus Patients Test Positive Again
Health officials say the virus may have ‘reactivated’ in patients.

South Korean officials reported that nearly 100 people thought to be cured of the novel coronavirus have tested positive again.

Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said during a briefing that the virus may have "reactivated" in the patients rather than them becoming reinfected, Reuters reported.

Health officials in the country said it is unclear how or why this has happened in the 91 patients, but an epidemiological investigation is underway.

As jobless claims hit 16.8 million, more older Americans and Republicans say coronavirus won’t hurt their finances

Jobless claims soared again in early April as coronavirus layoffs swell to nearly 17 million.
Jobless claims soared again in early April as coronavirus layoffs swell to 16.8 million, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate has likely shot above 10%, economists say, and will get worse before it gets better.

The spread of the disease does not appear to have yet peaked. Coronavirus had infected at least 462,135 people in the U.S. as of Thursday evening and killed at least 16,513 people, 5,150 of whom were in New York City, according to data aggregated by Johns Hopkins University.

The savings of millions of people, meanwhile, are at risk of running out. A quarter of U.S. adults say the coronavirus pandemic is a major threat to both their health and their finances, found the survey released this week by Pew research.

https://wolfstreet.com/2020/04/09/q...ve-balance-sheet-money-printing-and-bailouts/

""Since March 11, the Fed created $1.77 trillion and handed it to Wall Street either as loans or to purchase financial instruments. The sole purpose of this was to inflate asset prices and bail out asset holders. It’s apparently against the law in the US for the Fed to allow the wealthy to lose their shirts, or something. The crumbs offered to small businesses or the real economy have not materialized yet. Those are future projects, if they ever materialize.

If the Fed had sent that $1.77 Trillion to the 130 million households in the US, each household would have received $13,600. But no, this was helicopter money exclusively for Wall Street and for asset holders.""
My senators don't seem to have any trouble sending me political letters, paid for. Why can't they print the checks on them, and have those out in a week?

I know, right??

When I take away from my kids, and give to the loan sharks, my kids start looking hard at the weaponry in the house; not to mention plotting against the loan sharks.

Just goes to show; there's no crisis too big or small, for the Oligarchy to take advantage of, as though they can spend their $Billions in Hell.

Fortunately, much of my angst and anger, or even mere irritation, is temporarily quelled by chicken tamales in red sauce, and a new wireless modem. So for now I'll forgo changing out the older magazines for newer/'rested' ones, and loading weapons. Beside, Wall St. and that damned bull statue are, like, nearly 4,000 miles away. And the Canada border's closed to 'non-essential travel'. That, and the fact that I'm not sure Canadian or US Customs would agree with me, that it's 'essential' that we take out a couple hundred Oligarchs & their hand puppets in office.

There is certainly cause for anger, but please, brother, choose words that cannot be misinterpreted by Johnny Law, and possibly used a basis for focusing undue attention, during this time of upheaval.

U.S. records more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in one day, global death toll reaches 100,000

Coronavirus Updates newsletter.

New coronavirus deaths in the United States surpassed 2,000 on Friday, the highest daily tally to date. The total confirmed dead from the virus in the U.S. is now 18,586, putting it on the heels of Italy, which at 18,849 has experienced more deaths than any nation on earth.

At least 2,056 people died of complications related to covid-19 in the 50 states and District of Columbia, up from totals of 1,878, 1,936 and 1,879 the three days prior.

Worldwide, the confirmed covid-19 death toll reached 100,000. But experts fear the total is worse than the numbers provided by Johns Hopkins University, given a lack of transparency in China and elsewhere, and the difficulty of confirming cause of death, especially outside of hospitals.

Here are some significant developments:

At a White House briefing, President Trump said he’ll announce Tuesday the members of a new task force made up of people from the medical and business communities to determine when and how to reopen the country.
New York State recorded 777 known deaths Thursday, just 22 fewer from the record high the day before, but a flatter trend in severe cases is a “somewhat hopeful” sign that restrictive measures are working, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Friday.
Turkey’s government imposed an around-the-clock weekend curfew in 31 cities, but the annoucement had the reverse effect. It came so close to the beginning of its start that thousands flocked to stores and formed the kinds of crowds the policy is supposed to deter.
Two-thirds of a small group of patients showed improvements after receiving an experimental coronavirus treatment, bolstering hopes for finding a treatment for the novel coronavirus, according to a published study.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) pleaded with churchgoers in the state not to attend Easter Sunday services in any fashion — and said those who go to mass gatherings will be ordered to self-quarantine in their homes. Although he praised his state for its social distancing efforts, he said Kentucky plans to record the license plates in crowded parking lots of churches still considering having in-person services.
Life is slowly returning to the streets and shops of Wuhan — the original epicenter of the outbreak — after the Chinese city reopened following 76 days of almost complete lockdown.

Doctor arrested for attacking teen girls, choking one, apparently for not social distancing
The suspect "without consent ... applied pressure to victim's throat and impeded her breathing," according to a police report.

A Kentucky doctor who violently attacked a group of teen girls, choking one of them, apparently for failing to practice social distancing, was arrested after a video of the incident went viral over the weekend.

The video, which was posted to Reddit and titled, "Man strangles teenage girl for failing to social distance," shows a man approach at least four girls who are on a picnic blanket. A woman near him appears to film on her phone as one of the girls tells them the group is leaving.

The media had people whipped up over Trump with 3 years of investigation and distraction, and now they have this fear to further whip the people up. Into a great frenzy we go!

Having been seriously irritated by a person encroaching on my space at a large store recently, I can somewhat understand the Doc's anger. But the irony in the Doc SEVERELY violating 'social distancing' standards, in an effort to enforce or confront the issue of social distancing, is not lost on me in this report. Nor is the fact that the Doc probably overlooked the fact at the time of his raised adrenaline, that the teen whose throat he temporarily closed air flow to, likely has a father, or a brother, or....

Buying seeds now prohibited in Michigan — but booze, pot, lottery tickets OK

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's latest stay-at-home order is being blasted for lack of consistency and seemingly arbitrary rules regarding what can be purchased and what cannot.

Under the new mandate:

Residents are prohibited from traveling between homes — even one's own second home.
In the state famous for its Great Lakes and more than 11,000 inland lakes, operating motor boats or jet-skis, even by oneself, has been outlawed — though boats without motors are still allowed on lakes.
Buying seeds in a store to grown one's own food, or paint for home repairs, is illegal — but Michiganders can still legally purchase alcohol, marijuana, and lottery tickets, which have been deemed "essential."
A resident tweeted pictures from Michigan Walmart Friday showing the seed section roped off with yellow tape, barring shoppers from purchasing them

Man without mask violently dragged off bus by police in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.
This week, SEPTA operators gained the right to refuse the transport of passengers that don't wear face masks.

But after police forcibly removed a rider from a bus Friday morning, that rule has since been rescinded.

That man was physically dragged of a SEPTA bus by Philadelphia police at 11th and Market streets. He was resisting, holding as tightly as he could, refusing to get off.

It took about three officers forcibly removing him by holding his hands and leg, to drag him outside the vehicle.

Before all of that took place, police say he was asked multiple times by the driver and was warned by police to exit the bus or that he would be physically removed.

The rider face mask policy was part of SEPTA's implementation of a "lifeline service plan" that started just a few days ago after dozens of employees became infected with COVID-19, with at least three of them dying
