And here are a few pics of her big sister. As you can see she's just started flowering about 1week-10days ago so this is going to be a tight one. I hope good weather will be available till the first week of novemeber. Currently there's not specific smell. She's veeery bushy and has lots of flowers ready to be inflated :) as you can see i'm standing infront of a green wall :) despited being heavily tied down she's over 2,20 (7ft) tall.

far beyond driven...
So...here are two pictures of "whats up". As you can see she is producing buds infact. So i don't know what to say really. The leafs are not fully erect as they are in a healthy plant, but they're not droopy all the way down either. Not really sure if i should cull the plant or not. She was stunned but she's developing slowly now. A loooot of leafs have turned yellow and were attacked by various pests...but she keeps fighting. She also got her scent back. Any thoughts?

The new leaves are looking good!
So she has recovered... and she is in flower now...
I would let her go to end... was so much work until now...
sometimes if a plant had a hard time she gets stronger by the end...
maybe this one too because she want to be alive... could be power weed @ the end...
... all the best

Small update 2weeks later on.
Here is the smaller Congo. She's stacking up, but rather slow ofcourse. The smell is heavy! I think she could be ready in about 3 weeks.

And here is her big sister. She started flowering fully this week. You can see that she's stacking up fast. I can already see some sugar on her. She got her smell from PCK ;)
The last picture is my enemy that keeps me on my toes so i have to check the flowers regularly.

I'm glad the smaller Congo finally survived at the end :)

Looks like they will need at least 4 weeks more to finish,
hope the weather comes fine in October!

Bangi congolese mother maturing early October

Bangi congolese mother maturing early October

One of the early congolese mothers (more Bangi influenced) that we use to breed our Congo strain, grown organically from clone almost guerilla style.

It's already quite matured now in early October, the forecast is not very good for the upcoming days but we must wait a bit more to mature enough all the seeds correctly, pics taken today.

Hi Dubi,

It is really nice to see you post pictures of your breeding stock. Thanks.

I have a question about the Bangi Congo mother. Perhaps this should be a question for the Bangi Haze thread, but this question is prompted by the photographs you just posted here. B.T.W., I am interested in your Congo line because I have found individuals in Bangi Haze that I love so much.

I'm surprised to see your Bangi Mother showing such fat leaves. Is the plant in your picture pure Bangi Congolese?

Here is the part of the question that I hope you will answer here. Where did the very thin leaves come from in my latest Bangi Haze plant, shown here:

The aroma from the Bangi Haze buds in this plant is very perfumy. Does this come from the Congolese side of the lineage?

Thanks in advance for your response. Thank you also for working with and making available to the public these rare and wonderful Congolese genetics.

Hi ThaiBliss,

Always a pleasure to see you around here.

To answer your question, ACE strains with congolese genetics (Bangi Haze and Congo) were bred using 3 different pure congolese strains: 2 pure congoleses came from mano negra: the early flowering, more compact and wider leaf Bangi Congo (it's the one i have just posted), and another different congolese of thin leaf that was used to breed Bangi Haze also came from mano negra. A third one (Congo #3, a thin leaf congolese too) was given to kaiki and also was used in our Congo hybrid.

Our Congo is a hybrid composed mainly by the early Bangi Congo, a bit of the other longer flowering congolese Congo #3, and a bit of PCK.

While Bangi Haze was bred using the thin leaf mano negra congolese with other fast flowering and more robust genetics not related to congolese.

Then both hybrids have been bred further several generations more through all this decade. Kaiki did the first breeding for Congo, then i did continue the breeding of the line since 2008. The same for Bangi Haze, it was started by mano negra, then refined by estai, then continued by kaiki and since 2008 until now it has been worked by me.

I know it is a bit confusing but i never chose the names of ACE congolese strains in the first place when they were released more than 10 years ago.

Next time i will try to get pics from the thin leaf pure congolese as reference, so you can compare.

Hope it helps with your doubts. Kind regards!

Thanks Dubi,

My memory is not so good. I didn't realize or remember that Bangi Haze had 2 Congolese strains in it. That explains a lot. Sounds like I need to buy the Congo line and marry it to the best Bangi Haze plant I find to keep the Congo effects as pure and as vigorous as possible. Triple Congo! I hope this is a good plan since it is the energetic cerebral effects that I like. I believe I've heard that these are the effects that the Congolese strains bring to these two strains you have been working on.

Were these 3 Congo lines similar in effect, terpene profiles, etc.?

Thanks again, and keep up the good work, as it is much appreciated.

Hi ThaiBliss,

It's our Congo strain the one who has 2 different congolese, and Bangi Haze just one.

Sorry if i didn't explain myself correctly, i'm not an english native speaker.

All 3 congolese were a bit different in shapes, terpenes, flowering times, effects, etc ...

The early Bangi Congo had the more earthy type of aromas of all of them, it's the earliest to flower by far, with more compact structure and wider leaf, and matures with a bit of dark colors under colder temps.

The other thin leaved congolese had more anissete floral type of aromas, much longer flowering times, taller, greener colors and more uplifting effects.

Hope it helps.

Ok here is my Ace Congo. She has been at 12/12 for 25 days. I vegged her vertically in a custom smart pot. For space sake i laid her horizontally and she is doing quite well. I am posting this to show how versatile this Congo is.
So if you have limited space, you can still have your sativa too!
