Sorry for the bad quality, I'll have to get my camera up and ready for some better shots, just need to find the charger hehe. These are some of the 50 colas in my scrog grow, 3rd time growing and I have to say I am so hyped about these congos and tikals!!!

This shot is one of the 2 congo's
album.php

And this one is a Tikal, lil overfeeding, the poor girl is so compact and small compared to her sisters she isn't getting the light she deserves but oh well the buds are still rock hard and have the strongest smell by far!! (I won't post any img of her as it is not the thread but I'm so stoked about it that I can't resist the urge sorry ^^)
album.php

I judged their strain by smell since I was high as a kite when I planted them and turned some pots mid-veg, the congos have a light strawberry-citrus note to them, and that's about as far as my nose can tell, and the tikal smell full-on strawberry, btw they are @ 46 day of flowering!

Picked up a cola on it's 9th week and my stoner friends and I all agreed this is some seriously cool sativa, I'll post a real smoke report in a few other weeks but it's fair to say this weed is a keeper, the high is euphoric, makes you want to do stuff, you can be super blasted and still be functional if the giggles don't get the best of you! The smell is superb, you could launch a perfume brand out of these aromas, and then again it wasn't even cured!!
Here's a small bit of the last nug I finished this morning :
:peacock:
Happy xmas everyone!!

Oh god, well maybe not so functional, this is tikal not congo my bad, wish I could delete the post :wtf:

heheheh i'm glad you and your friends are enjoying Tikal ;)
It's without any doubt a sativa with excellent aromas and great positive effect. Please, let us know your opinion about the smoke report after a bit of curing. Best regards!

Both congos have been harvested a week ago at week 13, and that was alot of weed. not much trimming required, the bigger leafs has fallen off and the buds were healthy and all the smaller leafs were bud leaf that was charged with thc to the very tip, they produced very long colas, it isn't rock hard bud, but its potency is top notch.
The high is much clearer and more potent in its own way then the Tikal I harvested at week 11. The Congos had purple tints on the higher buds and dark purple calyx's from the Chitral Kush pheno on the lower parts of the buds. Can barely see it under light with all the trichomes, but I guess that's good.

The high is clearly energetic (caught cold for a week and when it was dry enough for me to smoke it, I didn't feel tired or that sick anymore, really cool), anxiety-less (I'm prone to anxiety but whatever the weed I'm always anxiety-less so my experience is probably not so interesting on that point), you become euphoric, extremely creative, gives you the giggles, and I as I said earlier I am more clear-headed and better focused on the tasks I do. Repetitive tasks that were experienced as boring sober become interesting and fun on Congo. Really a good experience, I feel at peace when I smoke it as well, alike a diluted oceanic feeling.

Potency, is again, very good, this is some premium plant, I usually smoke up to 5 grams of weed personally on a social day, but this will leave me totally blasted throughout the day with only 2.
Cieling is hard to define, as I haven't smoke bongs of it yet but if you put the right amount in, I'm sure you'll be in space in no time.
Can become dizzy if you smoke too many doobies in a row, but then I'd just listen to music for half an hour and I'd be fine.

It produces a crazy amount of pollen; the finger hash from the harvest handling was something! :whee:
The smell is of lime and incense as far as my smoker's nose can tell

On a side note, I will post pictures when I have the time, a proper smoke report when it's cured and I have a pineapple/mango (I can't tell, my olfactory skills are that acute haha) smelling Tikal which is predicted to end at 16 weeks, 50% of the pistils are still white, she is a monster and I'm very excited to smoke her! Meanwhile :pet the cat:

Behold, my thoughts on Congo after a couple weeks of curing are to be uttered!

Well I've been smoking it daily all day now for some while... The smell has evolved with curing... I've never smelled something quite like it, smells of sour candy, lime, incense, it is subtle and graceful.
It is truely a weed to pass around during some social nightlife situation, things can get quite trippy for everyone, you become more sensitive to lights and colors. Like in some state of "euphoric 'wow'-dom'".
So yeah, no hallucinations for the moment (I've yet to use my trims for a space cake tho), but it is potent and will get you into pretty trippy situations. Really cool, it is really enjoyable anytime of the day to be honest. The first joint in the morning is amazing.

Pretty much sums it up! Happy tokin' guys!

That's a beautiful and touching description, thanks a lot ObsidianMirror :)

Congo release remains with the same genetic background since 2008-2009 and i'm very happy with how it works.
As you said, the effect it's really positive, social, euphoric, but at the same time is not anxious .... feel good weed!
I appreciate a lot these kind of sativa qualities in hybrids.

Wish you enjoy it a lot!

No problem dubi and thank you so much for your work!

You've gotten me to the point where I want to try out all your seeds haha, Malawi and Zamaldelica have definitely caught my eye, I want something to blast me to planet X!

And do you have any idea where that mango-smelling phenotype Tikal I have comes from?
I haven't seen anyone mention that phenotype. It's 18 weeks now and it's still flowering! Nearly all the leaves have dropped off and the rest are yellow. There's quite a bit of white pistils, so she should be finishing in 2 weeks or so!

The aromas have evolved as she matured quickly in the last week (I eventually chopped her at the end of the 18th week), and 3 days of drying already show strong peach aromas, extremely nice!

So nevermind dubi, it ain't mango no more!
I'll post a smoke report (the smoke is super smooth already :woohoo:) on the tikal thread once she's dried a bit more and cured for at least a week, thanks again for these beautiful phenos. :tiphat:

If anyone is even remotely thinking about growing Congo - do it. I had two ladies, one short and one taller, flipped them at 5 weeks and they took off, quick to flower but very little stretch. My initial smoke was at 4 weeks after the chop - whoa! Three nice tokes and I was doing laps inside my house bouncing from one thing to another, could hardly make my mind up what I wanted to wear out to dinner that night. That lasted about 20 minutes and then it turned into a very long lasting euphoric high. Very social and in tune with the conversation - music was awesome! Most cannabis actually keeps me from eating however this did not which could be bad or good depending on your situation :)
This is now one of my favorites but my wife loves it too so I need to watch my harvest closely.
Thanks Dubi and Ace!
