yhea, maybe not THAT high, but have you been to illuzions lately? there are 10k+ pipes in there that actually turn over.... i've heard tell of some super high end denver glass going for 5 digits, which imo is pretty damn impressive for an artist to get that much for functional glass, bigups to them.

Haven't been to Illuzions but checked out some of their stuff online, they have a lot interesting stuff. functional art is the best kind if it can be pulled off effectively, more power to those getting higher prices or just making sales regularly.

Being a contrarian, I generally don't follow the crowd. When I buy glass, it's from the artist or his chosen outlet directly and I'm always buying affordable pieces, like my favorite; The 'curly cue', a hemlock style with the long draw coiled up so the pipe is much more compact. Brilliant design, highly functional, supporting the local glass blowing economy and it was only $15!

I have one glass piece that can't be replaced, so I don't use it.

The rest of my glass is bought with the expectation it will eventually get broken.

That's what I was thinking would happen.

I was just talking w my buddy on Friday and telling about all the public consumption nazi's around Denver. And the potential issues for selling samples, Seeds and sharing openly could pose serious issues for the organizers.

So I checked for the update to the website.
As they did say "tickets on sale next week"

No suprise here's what it said on the HT site.

A Note Regarding the US Cannabis Cup in Colorado -

HIGH TIMES continues to push forward with securing all approvals for our 2016 U.S. Cannabis Cup in Pueblo, Colorado on April 22-24. As has been true for 41 years, hurdles and obstacles have continued to be put up, but we are going through every possible channel, meeting with officials and amending forms to make sure we can celebrate and educate people on cannabis in Pueblo. We should have clarity in the coming days, and we will update you in real time with our status.

-Team HIGH TIMES

Most cannabis plants can survive temps as low as 28°F for a couple of hours.
I've had a few plants see temps as low as 23°F, unprotected, at the end of a season.
If you can use a cold frame you can put plants out a few weeks sooner.

Regardless,
If your plants are veging with more than about 16 hours (more likely 15 hours) of daylight, you may experience plants flowering prematurely before adjusting to local conditions and re-veging.

On the West slope @7K ft, I tend to put my gals out around 4/20.

Word thanks.

Doing most of the veg inside anyways but always nice to let them get out there as long as possible.

The answer is that it depends on exactly where you're talking about-

http://www.plantmaps.com/interactive-colorado-last-frost-date-map.php

It also depends on your ability to cover plants if you've miscalculated & on the use of things like wall of water helpers. Mothers' Day is generally regarded as safe in Denver, depending on the forecast.

Some strains started indoors at 18/6 will flower prematurely when placed outdoors at shorter photo periods.

Handy calculator -

Do you have anything in your stable, or any opinions on strains you work with, that you would try at 9K plus altitude in a greenhouse?

I enjoy your contributions. Thanks for your time.

If your gh is environmentally controlled, plant whatever you want. 9K ft would provide some intense sun!

As Avinash mentions above otherwise.

Colorado green-rush cash-grabbers is who I'd blame.... not pueblo politics...

high times is probably the biggest green rusher cash grabber out there....

def blame politics, and def don't limit that blame to any specific location within the state, it's politics to blame for this.... no other reason.
CO does not want this "cannabis experiment" to be too much of a success, they obviously want to diminish the tourism side of this thing - all this legislation concerning clubs, recent problems at events, denial of permits (bongathon in many counties last summer, now this with the htcc, aspen vape lounge xgames vibes, others) is just proof that the state doesn't want consumption based events to exist without a state license of some sort, that equates to putting on the brakes big time in my mind.
