yhea, a win is a win...
some peeps i know won a htcc for best CBD edible, was a brand new category so i don't think there was much competition (fewer entries for sure) and they are into the CBD thing bigtime... was a no brainer for them, i doubt it was best tasting or looking, but won on lab results iirc.

kind of like people who run for public offices based on finding "un-contested" races and running (winning sometimes) against losers who thought they were sure fire wins.

bigups to y'all for participating and giving us feedback on the event... all it's downs and ups - it's very encouraging to see these event persevere thru the bullshit that cops want to impose (and counties like montezuma & park fucking w BAT) and end up throwing or (in the case of frost bowl) finishing the event despite the adversity.
I am pretty sure the wins were under People's Choice and not the tested levels...If I am right that just can't be right???

Well I was wrong...they posted the results. I am more confused than ever now. (but the chef's suit after serving that was just WRONG.)

It was the Ghost

It was the Ghost

Kinda surprised to learn that it was my Ghost Train that won highest CDB. I'd always thought this strain was known for its THC, but who am I to complain? I'm heading down to pick up the trophy this weekend, once I have it I'll post up some pics.

I'd also really like to thank everyone on IC for all the help and advice you've given me. It means a lot to me. Thanks! :thank you:

Ghost Train highest CBD? Did they age the sample in a mummy's tomb to darken the trichs?

Actually it was cured in a Cvault for about 3 mo. The Star Killer did 2 mo. the same way. GTH trichs were pretty dark by testing time. She has kind of an up/cerebral buzz from what I've seen so far, that's why I was surprised by the CBDs. Haven't gotten the test results sheet back yet, but will put it up here as soon as I get it. Maybe CBDs mean it's more Neville's dominant? Ontheotherand though, it does help with my Glaucoma. Pressure feels lessened after a few puffs and my peripheral vision improves for sure.

!RA!, slightly off topic, but are the cvaults worth is?

I think so. I use mine with Boveda moisture packs and small hygrometer inside to keep tabs on RH. Once it stabilizes at or near 62 I just burp them once a week and the flower's been primo.

I've seen them for sale locally. all a little small for my tastes... but nice looking.

I use em... but I find em to change the flavor on the long term....

I get stable at 62% with the packs and a hygrometer...
but then I get that out of there and seal it with just the hygrometers...

I seal em up in a jar with a hygrometer, and they stay good for, so far, 4 runs same packs...

I once let em dry all the way out... and I stuck em in a jar with water in it but sitting high and dry on a cork...
few days later after stuck in a jar with 100%rh they were juiced back up
when I put em back in the jar w/ hygrometer, they're 1 point off...

they're rechargeable and reusable to at least some good degree.

Dry Bovedas recharge pretty easily, I just put them in a plastic bag with some distilled water and leave them until the water vanishes, it all gets absorbed, and my pack often has more moisture after a recharge than when I originally bought it, you can keep recharging them with clean water until the package tears.

Yeah, boveda now has bored 54 which they say is better for cannabis even though they said the said the same thing about the 62's when they came out. I'm going to have to give them a try and see how they compare.

Put me down for more like 55 to smoke. I do not like 62

I find that sealing em at 62 is good because of the burping, but again... I only use them at first to stabilize rh, after that they go in their own jar.

62 is too moist to smoke in my opinion...

I wondered if I could re-hydrate bovedas. Thanks for the info, guys.

I'll agree that 62% is a little on the damp side for best toking. The moisture content goes down quickly at my house when I take it from the storage jars, Denver humidity being what it is & my little grow not nearly enough to raise it much at all.

It's great for curing & I like it for storage. Stuff I've stashed for long periods at 62% seems to be more tender, more friable than fresher material. The tiny stems in the budlets crumble right along with the rest of it. I like the texture better.

I haven't really tried doing things differently, TBH. I found simon's cure 3 years ago, tweaked it to serve my situation, added bovedas & get really good results every time.

I may have to try 54% for storage.
