a while back i brought the idea up with other mods.... they said first and foremost issue is running it by gypsy, making sure we can do something where all participants are SAFE.

It's a fantastic idea!!!!
N one would think it could b cool. Off hand it seems there could b some conflicts the the ToU. But the mods made an exception for the HtCc.
A time n location for the cup smokeout never really happened or wasn't posted in the open forum. But it was suggested without getting me banned.

There could b some risk for us in the blackmarket, unlicensed extractors(freelance operators) and people who do come in from outa state.

Even members only is iffy. God knows LEO watches the site, surely afew asshat cops have accounts on icmag n do puff even tho they are lying fucks!...
-?- are we comfortable getting background chex?! ) doubt it.

Don't get me wrong. I'll b attending an internet group chill out this wknd.(tokin daily goodby party) I luv the cups"710 & HTCC" and the bongathon if unbelievably awesome. Meeting w our actual peers is a true honor and always rewarding!

Those who are Co residents would b much safer than anyone traveling w gear exc.

I hope we can pull it off it would surly b epic, and annual, once it starts it would never stop.

not sure what exactly it entails.... certainly to begin with: a feeling of safety in the location(s) we meet
AJ "hasman" has a shady past in the denver scene... he's big on throwing events that's for sure... but the guy has just rubbed me and mine the wrong way for some time now. not trying at all to shit on the guy or his scene/parties, just stating my experiences with him.
(this is the guy who got busted for using an unclean washing machine to make his water hash some time back, and MED got involved)
Like I said, plenty of love and hate for the guy in the industry, but as far as securing legit venues for cannabis events, he's not a bad resource.

The boys with GeekStreetSociety radio also LOVE cannabis events, and they're currently looking for a "cup" type event to help build up (owner says he'll just start his own if he has to :p ), traditionally they've worked with larger events like the 420 rally but but now they're looking for something smaller where they can have a larger presence. I know if you can get ahold of the owner (Sammy aka Chayne Clouds the local musician) or the station manager Yu-jin, i'm sure they'd love to discuss the possibility of being involved in an ICMag cup, they'd be another great resource for finding a safe, smoker friendly venue.

Right now they host a smoke / vape friendly "Geek Getaway" every week at Quixoties (sp?), that's also where they held their 4/20 vip smoke party, so that venue in particular might be one worth considering.

Yeah I don't know if it would have to be exclusively Icmag peeps only. It could even be something where you could invite guests or be entirely open. We could figure that out on down the road.

Maybe a good way for the ICmag community to expand, allow public attendance but limit competition to people who have an active icmag presence?

Colorado Springs action alert

Colorado Springs action alert

Via jason "stickman" warf:
"Next Tuesday the Colorado Springs City Council will be voting on an ordinance that bans paraphernalia for anyone under 18. The ordinance is blatantly unconstitutional and is very vague. It will criminalize all children who are patients. It could result in very bad circumstances for any cannabis users that have children. It is bad. Very bad! Please be there to testify against this ordinance. This is bad and I feel it is just the beginning of the attacks...Tuesday, CS City Hall 1 PM"

looks like more of the same old same old to me

anyone remember when they had to put the "for tobacco use only" stickers on the glass because the drug warriors were looking out for us all? they never seemed to care much about the constitution

this is just more scary shit from the same playbook

maybe every kid in colorado springs should go buy a pack of zigzags and flash em at the cops when they drive buy. it wouldn't take long for someone to get arrested on bullshit charges and i'm sure there are a few lawyers in colorado who would work those cases pro bono.

why do they keep trying plays they have run before?

R

!RA!

Because they have a one page playbook, and having it make sense is not a requirement.

CS politics are a black hole of conservative authoritarian bullshit. It's the new home of the Fundie Fringe & host to several military installations w/ lots of military retirees as well.

dont forget the whole religious right stronghold thing going on in CoS....
all that being said... moving forward understanding that it's probably the most backwards and ignorant large city in Colorado springs (at least on the front range, because GJ may be slightly more stupid and backwards).... there are still some decent vibes in the springs....
the speakeasy is a decent lil vibe in there, they are community minded business people ime.... and the "lazy lion" is an unlicensed rec dispensary that the springs has pretty much left alone and allowed to operate.

The west side of town is pretty cool too and there is also the Hippie Haven of Manitou Springs.

Manitou rocks, we go down there in the summer quite a bit. Love that little hippie shop, I think it's called Poppies, or Poppy Seed.

40 years ago, my best friend owned the only headshop in Manitou, dealt mass quantities of whatever he could get, dabbled in local politics, lost everything shooting coke & heroin, did 7 years in Canon. Afterwards, he kept his life mostly together until he OD'ed around 1990... never shook the taste for Mexican tar...

Whenever ive visited Grand Junction it seemed republican and conservative, but it's been years since I've been back. Thought about moving to Co because I've got cousins there, but didnt think legalization would pass.
I'd be interested in your thoughts on Grand Junction though as far as weed and the people/ cost of living.
Not too close with my Co. cousins, be surprised if they smoke weed.

GJs only dispo is Palisade. I wish their quality was up to par. The closest rec store is Kush Gardens and even then. I'm still not impressed. Glad I grow my own. The cost if living isn't that bad but the cost will get lower in more ghetto parts of the town. The town is known more for the weird cracked out meth heads roaming around more than pot smokers. It's nice not being in a large city but at the same time its a drag. Your looking for good quality? Good luck unless you know someone who is doing it right. I grow only for personal. It's hard to get the quality you want unless you produce it yourself.

Im living in COS temporarily. I live right downtown and try to stick the the downtown/Old Colorado City, Manitou areas. IF you just focus on those spots, thus town aint that bad!

Celebrating Christmas by upgrading random clone orders with elites :)

Today gave a couple Kong to a person whose order total was only $200, they were pretty stoked.

Gonna do this at least once a week until Christmas, free GG4 or Kong for orders that are getting ready for pickup, just as a surprise.

Haters still gonna hate, but i'm in a good place this winter, felt so unscroogey that I finally broke down and bought a full size Christmas tree, the Wife and I have been alternating between using a 2' toy tree and an actual Charlie Brown tree, so she's having a ball digging out old ornaments from the closet.
