I was thinking.... There is an ICmag cup in Amsterdam. What about getting something together as an ICmag gathering in Colorado?
I get jealous of all the cups and stuff that go on in Cali what seems like every other month. It would be nice to have one right in the Emerald Rectangle. Anybody else?
I know it might be tricky with the TOU and all that but it wouldn't be like a one on one deal and with Colorado being legal it might fly? Thoughts?

That's an awesome idea who dat. How do we get something like this going?
a while back i brought the idea up with other mods.... they said first and foremost issue is running it by gypsy, making sure we can do something where all participants are SAFE.

I would think the first thing is to see how much interest there is for something like this and also to get the mods and admins blessing with pursuing anything along these lines.

Well I'd be willing to help any way I can. Don't have money to put in, but could certainly donate some time. I think it would be great to have something like this in CO.
But to even have entries and stuff like that too like a cup would. It could be mandatory for you to be a member in good standing here in order to enter. We could model it after something similar to the cups that Mary Jane's in Pueblo do. The entry fee is affordable and covers lab testing costs and then you're only out the required amount of flower or concentrate for the entry. We could do a donation bin for all proceeds to go to Gypsy as well.

Understood. What does that entail though? Hired security present? Regarding legalities as long as nothing is bought or sold we're good to go right?
VIP passes get everyone access to test/taste any entries and votes to judge?
If organized and done right I could see this as something that could be an annual thing that grows and develops every year.

Wanted to add that I wasn't thinking of this as an exclusively Colorado thing. I was thinking whole community wide event that happens to be in Colorado. Any and all input and help community wide would be appreciated.

I was using the screw in green party bulb fluorescents before, but hanging them wasn't as easy as these Christmas lights, for sure, big props to Miles for pioneering this supply method!
As far as an ICMag event, not sure how familiar people are with AJ Hashman and his edibles company, but he hosts monthly Cannabis get togethers, and might be able to serve as a host and arrange a properly sized venue, depending on whether or not he and ICmag currently have a positive relationship? Love him or hate him for his personal life, but his events tend to be chill and safe.
I'm bad at attending events, but my buds might get flown in by a fairy
not sure what exactly it entails.... certainly to begin with: a feeling of safety in the location(s) we meet
AJ "hasman" has a shady past in the denver scene... he's big on throwing events that's for sure... but the guy has just rubbed me and mine the wrong way for some time now. not trying at all to shit on the guy or his scene/parties, just stating my experiences with him.
(this is the guy who got busted for using an unclean washing machine to make his water hash some time back, and MED got involved)
as for green lites, i really like the strings of green xmas lites because you can string them just beneath hoods (to avoid shadows) and run it all around the room to really get a good consistent green lite for working (especially spraying w. lites out) in larger rooms. in smaller spaces (like the 5'x10' tents im using now) a single green bulb does just fine imo.

I keep thinking of something very similar to the size and feel of the Pueblo Harvest Cup this past October. I don't know if anybody made it to that one or not (maybe Corvette Doc?) but it was certainly a good time. That would be a good place to start at least to model after.
In summation, they had a two day event in a warehouse style space while also using the parking lot out back. They had security present but I think it was probably just store employees or something along those lines. It was definitely laid back though and everybody was behaving themselves. There were several vendors present with booths which was nice as well. Also, they had several competition categories with some small blown glass trophies that were pretty cool. Just a thought but they are trying to have these community scale cups quarterly throughout the year. If nothing else we could model the Icmag event after that or potentially approach those guys and see if they wouldn't want to do a joint venture perhaps? I certainly don't want to get too far ahead of myself here but it's just a thought.
I would want an event where the main goal is to keep it focused on the plant itself and the industry surrounding it and avoid a straight up fuckclobberin' toke down (although I know that goes with the territory). Personally, I really enjoy going to these type things and learning about new products and services coming to the market.
