When do you all plant outside? I Just got some holes dug but the ground 8" down was still frozen a bit.

after mothers day is a good rule of thumb out here... the 1st of june is better though because all chances of snow will have passed, but that is all elevation dependent..

any photo tips to share?

I have been reading through all the pages and have seen some beautiful shots posted
and learned a thing our two along the way about farming/state laws, etc

I have tried taking shots with the HPS lights on and the photos look like I'm shooting through horizontal blinds

I have a nice Nikon SLR digital and willing subjects
but I need some advice to bring it all together photo wise

thank you in advance

(I figure the it best to ask a non-weed related question to start
being new and unknown here)

Yeah, no fingerprints, no tattoos.

Search Goba and Stumbleweed, they are the professionals on this site.

Now we know you are 5 0, thanks.

Question: Why leave Colorado at the middle of the 'Green Rush' to go to Cali?

wife got transferred there
she switched companies so we could return to Colorado
Dealing with the mold there was a pain in the ass
and dry time was three times as long as Colorado

I'm too old to be 5.0
I'd be retired by now
Took me almost two years to work up the nerve to post here (Join Date: Nov 2009)

I seem to learn more from reading the threads than I would asking a million questions
That sog method interests me so I have been reading lots about it
(using LST method for the past few years - Thank You Musicinmyveins)

thanks for the photo posting tips

speaking of grass, I have some that needs mowing - hahaha

If you are above 7500 feet, you are better off building some kind of hoop house or have some tarps ready. It can snow or hail up there in June or August, easily....

I am very close to 7500 but gorilla so hoop houses are out of the question. It usually doesn't snow but the night time temps are extreme sometimes. I put a few plants out too early last year and they basically petered out. Better spot this time tho, better soil sun and shelter from wind.

As for your cam, take pics under florescent light... HPS blinks on and off faster than we can see (proly 60hz) which causes the strange barred pics.

Only Asian gangsters run SOG in Colorado.
You want to maximize every plant you got with our laws.
Try SCROG.
Grow some Treeeees.
:plant grow:
Unless of course you are running only 3'x3', then that would only be 36 plants in a true SOG.

Deft... for the outdoor grow, the first week of June is gonna be the best time. If you garden by the moon, this is the week of the New Moon. It's recommended to plant right after a New Moon.

I have done an outdoor grow at about 7000 ft here and the problem is the finishing time. You will need a strain that finishes in less than 8 weeks indoors. I did Arcata Trainwreck, which finishes in 7-8 weeks indoors, and she came out to be the best TW I've ever grown.

Thank you I'll give that a try

Learning something new every day here
and from my local grow buddy

always looking to learn more
my Dad used to tell me
"you can't teach something to someone who thinks they know it all"

Yesterday I got off Fox Farms products and started using Age Old Organics
and my buddy turned me onto a new store here in town called Way to Grow
This wasn't here a year ago when we moved west to 99 plant per med card country

He also told me about a BBQ buffet here in town and warned me not to eat too much - hahaha

reading back through the 281 pages on the Colorado growers thread had been informative

I am up at 9,500 ft, so I went and ordered some Canadian Beans that are supposed to finish. I got:
White Grizzly
Manitoba Poison
Lethal Purple
Timewarp
and had some freebie Mazar i Sharif....

All have been germed and are sprouting now... I may do a hoop house, or I may try gorrila.... not sure yet. We see what happens! This will be my first Colorado Outdoor... my fingers are crossed!

Now that you point it out it's funny
considering it was just a early morning typo

I'm sure folks here read about it in the Denver Post
it was one of a series of grow houses all run by a guy
who ran a Chinese restaurant in Thornton
