Feds aren't staking out these stores. Waste of their fucking time. They know anyone they are looking for already has set up an avenue to obtain their wares...

I never heard of the place until yesterday
it's on a road that I rarely drove down when we lived here before

I always went to the nursery where we got our flowers and yard stuff,
Christmas tree, etc they have a section in the back
Paid a lot more but I was pretty sure they weren't being watched

glad I rode my bike there yesterday I guess

I was in Lowes the other day buying a lawn mower
and noticed they sell light bulbs for very cheap
400-600 HPS bulbs $14

OK if my comment was taken literally I am sorry, there are not actual people working for the fed sitting in cars in parking lots as they used to do 5+ years ago. ( This was common practice, if you have been in the game here long enough you know someone who got busted from taking a trip to the grow store. )

I know the case has pretty much ended and they changed ownership but why would you knowingly shop at a place that was openly investigated by the feds for 5 years???? You think the customer list for the past 5 years was not given to the fed? You think now that they changed owners the feds are just going to stop watching them?

Ask anyone in the industry and they will tell you the fed's think that 20% of all hydro stores across the country are nothing more than laundering fronts for large growers and in Colorado I would say that number is probably low.

If you don't know, in non-med states a hydroponic store owner that gets busted by feds is usually offered a deal that includes saving their own ass and selling out customers. Who is to say it is not happening here.....

I am just saying with over 100 stores in the state who are all in price wars why would you go to the biggest ( by biggest I mean who is making the most $$$ ) grow store chain in the state with the biggest red flag on it?

I know it's the wild west here right now but I remember 5-6 years ago when the feds tried to shut down every hydro store in the county, and even just a couple weeks ago they fucked with all the hydro stores in Montana and rumor has it that many of those stores were involved in the same circumstances as way to grow.

I would suggest going a store that has not been under federal indictment, and one that doesn't do millions of dollars in business. You might also find good customer service and get treated like a human being. Also, most the small guys will usually match prices if you just ask.

Why? If they want my business I shouldn't have to ask! I tried the small guy, they were worse than the big guy. Pick your poison I guess.
These ppl have done nothing special for me.
At least I have some respect for the 'Gold Rushers' who do some mining!
If they make a better, real offer they will find my business.
Usually they are just Hacks from Cali that couldn't grow and saw what happened in their state.

First, check your dates with your referenced articles before you get hundreds, maybe thousands of noobs to cut down their grow!!!

Second, reason why I don't try 'local' shops as much.
I don't know if that 'hole-in-the-wall' is doing 200K or 20M!
I do know half of them couldn't grow well in Cali, so they started selling shovels!

We moved here from the east coast Sept 2005
and just spent a year in Sonoma County Ca
so I am not the most expert one on Colorado growing
I had never even seen a grow supply store until we pulled into FC

Only time I ever drove to a store was with my out of state plates when we first got here

Sounds like I was right getting my stuff from our local nursery instead of the shops in town and getting flowers for the yard each time I go there.

How do you spot the stealth grow house
look for the one with the most petunias - hahahaha

Their prices were cheap due to competition

nice yard for the pup and room for me to "express myself"

Friends set me up with clean clones of LSD and Dutch Dragon
as soon as we arrived here

Been calling that LSD "Jack and the Bean Stalk shit"
the way it grows - hahaha

Jack in the Bean Stalk shit is 16 days into flower
Dutch Dragon about a week
I'll keep you posted and down the road some photos

This was a personal subject for me and I am jaded, I regret raising a shit storm but I don't believe in editing so here it goes......

As far as my sentence saying "20%"...... I never referenced anything or intended to present it as fact. I said " Ask anyone in the industry...." - it's just something I have heard from multiple people who own stores and work in that biz........that is all.


In regard to the WTG story, my dates are referenced right from the article that I linked. The investigation started in 2006 and although they were busted in 2009 the case was not settled until recently.....
......this is all correct to the best of my understanding, initially I was just making a joke and meant no harm. Shop there if you wish- as I said I am jaded so I do apologize for stirring up shit. However, I will still sustain that your crazy if you think that there are not any feds looking at Hydroponic Stores/ their owners bank accounts in CO right now. Its not necessarily even an avenue to find mmj growers, I'm saying they are going after the owners themselves.

Wasn't trying to wig you out, unless a person has some crazy huge grow going on or is doing other crazy or semi-legal shit then my comments probably are null.

That is why I am wary sometimes of MANY stores.
Some just don't seem to sell much product.

made me feel that I was right getting my supplies from a regular nursery
rather than a grow store for the past 5 years

it's a bit more expensive but I am pretty sure that no one is sitting in a car
with field glasses writing down license plate numbers

the nursery I use even has live reindeer at Christmas time
