OK I'd like to throw my two cents in now....

Build your own dripper setup! Designing and building your own setup is much more fun and cheaper.

And I'm open spaghetti lines with a "T" to spread out the flow, all the way. Those drippers typically clog really quickly for me. But I'm not running full chemical hydro nutes.

this is what i use and works great. im using H&G base with drip clean, that's it

I have to admit this is probably the best grow thread I have read to this date. I can't wait to read it again this time taking notes. Thanks DJM for taking the time out busy schedule to post up all this GOLD for free. True asset to icmag.

Maybe for the regulating drippers we need something like drip clean to keep them maintained so they don't clog. But I try not to use anything that isn't really necessary.
And to me, right now drippers and drip clean seem to be Fix's to other problems and unnecessary. (I.e. incorrect size pump for the manifold, poor manifold design, poor airation or Rez design) but to each their own.

Those pressure regulated drippers from homedepot are crap. The regulator inside the waffle seems to work when it wants to. Some are full on streams coming out, I just cut all mine off and use 1/4 line to flood the pot every couple hours.

Does anyone know if a 500gph sumbersible water pump would be sufficient with one of those 8 port octa bubbler manifolds?

I use 4 of these 8 port manifolds
with this pump 1083gph

I used to run just two 8 ports with a 594gph but the rez had 4 feet of head pressure.

The rez of the 32 site with the 1083gph pump is on the ground, i use 1/2 line and 1/4 tubing held with stakes two per 3 gal pot I use T's and just make sure everything is the exact same length (dont forget an antisyphn in rez) I usually water every 2 hours for 15-30 seconds in full flower. 20-24 gal rez last about 5-7 days

yep to each his own! i have never had issues, no clogs, no uneven feeding. I use drip clean as a preventative every other rez change.

THIS PIC IS NOT MINE**(I found this on IG over on TLC's page..thought this might help shed some light..)

The mister setup seem's to be in the plants favor, even distrubution & heavier oxygen.

its a downward spray jet. they used to use smith bowman fanjets j2 pattern, red 10 gph flow rate emitters, with a tophat to diirect the 360 degree flow pattern to a more acute angle to tighten the ring of coverage. but i noticed lately they use these now, i use the old style. id try those but i think it'd be six of one, half dozen of the other.
the even flow is achieved by powering no more than 32 fanjets maybe ran from pepco red top octabubblers, on a 1 hp booster pump at a time.

sureshot66 has a light conversion thread that devolves into one of the best layouts of setting up a fertigation system that ive seen.

follow his thread. he has a very good run of explaining this system.

i don't know those dudes at tlc at all. but they made the system famous online on another site. jackmayoffer does an amazing thread on it. and then it gets expanded upon on here by sureshot66 and whatthe215. all those members seriously upped my scenario. big ups on helping me through that learning curve. all those dudes are totally legit growers that know their shit.
my whole scenario would be nowhere near where its at if it weren't for those threads.

this thread has been a real eye opener and im just really starting to get how the plants can change in the right environment. i pushed through a hesitation i had after reading this thread. my plants are once again changing as i knew them due to a grow show. this is an awesome thread too. one of the best ones ive read.

DonJuan is a legit keeper of the canna flame whom I have had privilege of knowing over the years. The urban myths he has attempted to dispell in this thread give testimony to his unabashed ability to hone his own skills to new heights. I suggest you folks take notice of some of the points he makes in this thread and challege your own views on the often misunderstood task of growing large plants in small containers, particularly with coco.

Been a while DJ...give me a shout. My internet presence on this site isn't apparently enough to PM you so you will have to reach out to me. Cheers!...Carn.

DJM-thanks for all the helpful info so far. Even after reading this entire thread, I didn't see (or maybe I just missed it) on your growing/training methods. Do you...defoliate (if so when veg/flower? How often and how much?), top, supercrop, lollipop, etc?
