yeah I'm seriously having to re-evaluate how I'm using my coco... six feeds a day, no run off.. it's like some kind of revolution in here ;)

I wouldn't exactly call it a new revolution... it's just using coco for what it is; a hydroponic medium. A revelation in understanding coco as a medium perhaps...

If you treat coco like soil you're going to get soil like growth rates/yields.

If you treat it as a hydroponic medium (and you should) you're going to get accelerated growth rates and performance. This thread is testimony to that (as well as the VPD related info).

It's a versatile medium that can be used many ways to achieve success, but in my opinion it should be looked at as a substrate to simply hold your plant upright. The more frequently your replace new nutrients/oxygen & displace the old/gasses, etc the better.

Smaller coco pots + multi-feeds for the win!

I'll be moving from feeding 2-3 to 5-6 on the next round, I guess I'll soon see how far I can push it :)

Iv been growing in coco for a couple of years and grow 1 - 1.5 lb trees in 20 L (5 gal) buckets iv always set my timers to water once the coco dries out a bit which is up to 4 times a day.
I was always led to believe that I would get root rot if I didnt let the coco dry out abit between waterings.

So you guys are telling me if I bump my waterings to 6x per day I wont get root rot problems?

OMFG are the only words that come to mind!!!

DJM you are the man!! I have ran canna coco in 5 gal buckets for over years but never thought to run smaller pots and feed 6x in one day. I always feed every other day at most but this is deffinatly a game changer for me. Also the low humidity is a huge problem here in co and i think your ways of solving that and temp with a sealed room with the passive exhaust during day is amazing. I was able to run those humidity levels in fl. Never been able to come close here in co even with my 12 head ultra sonic foggers and trees but having 16k of vert is part of my problem. I am in the middle of changing my hole grow over to your style for a very low cost compaired to the cost of my uc dwc systems that kill me!!

Can anyone tell me what the 6 site dripper manifold he uses is? I am trying to mimic this grow and having a hard time finding the right feed system. Want to keep the water amount very consistent between 13 or 14 6 sites with a 1800 or 2800gph pump. Can DJM or anyone elce help me with this?

I use pepco octabubblers, they are eight site manifolds, but i think pepco makes a four site too. I also use one from a different manufacturer that is almozt identical, i cant remember the manufacturer's name but i order them from sprinkler wharehouse. I also recomend wayne 1hp pump(amazon 126$ shipped) if you have a lot of sites to water.

I use the four site bubblers too. I rarely do but when you need them it's nice to not have to good plug half the holes on an eight head. They work well but they pop off easier you have to really push on with virgin no stretched tube ends.

So do they water evenly for you and how many sites do you have? Yea maybe best bet the get the 1hp for pressure reasons my 1800 or 2800 gph prob will not get to.. Thanks for the info just pulling the plug now going to pickup 40 3gal spring pot 2.0's and some h&g or canna coco

Does anyone know if a 500gph sumbersible water pump would be sufficient with one of those 8 port octa bubbler manifolds?
