^ It will be interesting to see the differences between the two. I havent seen a CBG DP grow yet, but I havent really looked tbh... The same line differentiated by selection, possibly. :)

Soooo looking forward to growing these... Im still happy to be in the running, no matter how long it takes. Gonna be great!

Dave those seed pics are super cool man thanks

Im glad you enjoyed them 420. Buds aren't they only thing that can look amazing in pics. I think Ill snap some fan leaf pics soon. I always enjoy getting to see fan leaf pics in other threads.

Dave, it nearly looks like Jasper... too cool man!

I hadn't looked at Jasper in a longtime, so I googled it, and all I got was Jasper from Steven Universe..lol. I had to put in gemstone just to find pics of what I wanted.

Thanks for stopping in and stay tuned for more. Im working on some pics of Big Bertha's finished buds atm that Ill get up tonight

Cannabiogen durban is from afropips it has purple plants and green.

Thanks for the tip on their DP, but can you link to a post that confirms this? Ill have to find some time to look for some grow threads on that DP and see how they compare to mine.

Hey Dirt Life, OldPink has been more active lately getting stock relisted on Seedbay, so Im hoping that getting these DP beans sent out to you guys will soon be near the top of his to do list. *Fingers Crossed*

Its good to know the delay hasn't dampened your enthusiasm. It'll be worth the wait though. :tiphat:

Big Bertha Finished Buds Update

Big Bertha Finished Buds Update

Its time to do an update on this finished lady, with an eventual smoke report to follow after some time curing/aging.

Of the 3 sisters, she was clearly the biggest yielder. I was able to make 2, 1oz cobs from her, and I still have the main cola and one of the side colas stashed away.

I dont want to break down her main cola or even cob it. Its just too nice to look at and hold. Its also fun to pull it out and show it off to close friends.

Maybe when I find a plant with an even bigger main cola, I can then let this beautiful cola be consumed. Im sure there is a plant in those seeds that can produce a 1 oz cola. It's going to be fun to look for her.

Okay gang, lets get some photos up of the finished BB Buds.

DurbanThai TSA Line Harvest Update

DurbanThai TSA Line Harvest Update

This was the last DurbanxThai hybrid to be harvested, and she's the best imo. The best flavor, terp profile, and best high of the 3 sisters. The only downside is her buds are the smallest of the 3 ladies. Thankfully it doesn't take as much to get me high as the other girls.

I sampled some of this lady after a 7 day drying period, and found myself quite high after just one bowl. Out of habit, I always pack another bowl just in case I want a few extra tokes. Well, I ended up holding that second packed bowl in my hand for at least 15 minutes forgetting to even hit it, or feeling the need to hit it. The other two sisters after sampling weren't that strong.

I can't wait to see how much better these buds get with a cure, and a cobbing.

That hot garbage, rotten meat smell has disappeared greatly, but still with a pungent and funky profile that pleases the nose without being overwhelming. Easily the best terp profile from the 3 sisters.

Ill get a yield update on her later.

Page 4 of the Grow Diary forum?!?! Whaaa?? :yoinks:

J/K! Sup Dave! Just givin your thread a :bump:

Thanks for the bump Dirt Life. Ive been slacking lately, and Ive gotten behind on updates I should be doing. Things are even falling behind schedule in my garden. Im slowly righting the ship over here though and finding my way.

Actually I'm preparing some photos of DP-Ib atm to update on that pretty lady. I also snapped some pics of my prettiest Mr. Nice Shit lady tonight, so expect that soon too.

I just now PM'd Oldpink and gave him the tester list once more as a refresher. No one here has mentioned he has contacted them yet, so I thought id give him a nudge in the side to make this happen.

People are tired of waiting on these beans!!!!! They want to grow them now, and I dont blame them. Once you all see some pics of DPI-b and her chunky frosty buds you'll want em too!

Durban Poison-I(b) Update

Durban Poison-I(b) Update

Its been about 23 or 24 days since we last saw this lady. She's definitely turned out to be chunkier than expected. The mother wasn't this chunky, so the male I used may be responsible. Ill know for sure as I flower out larger quantities of his offspring in the future.

I think she is around 70 days flowering, so pretty nice development by this point. Judging by the tops, she looks nearly ready, but I always like to give them longer than I think they need. Ill give her another 2 weeks, and reevaluate at that point. Also, the deep purpling comes in later in flowering for some of these ladies, while others are straight purple from the start. This lady has begun to turn purple as you can see in the pics, but I think she'll get even darker if I give her some more time to develop.

Durban Poison ready in under 90 days flowering?? That'd be a very nice addition to my garden on a regular basis. Folks around here would love it too. Any Durban I release around these parts gets gobbled up quickly, and people are disappointed when its gone.

So far with regards to terp profile, its not the strong anise-grape her mother had, but that profile comes out more noticeably in curing stages. Come harvest, Ill jar up a quarter, and stash it somewhere out of reach for 1.5months+. The profile is very distinct, so Ill know for sure if the plant has it after the initial curing/aging.

Bud structure is dense, and chunky. Golfball nuggets for the most part, with no long spears like we see with the Thai Sticks.

Lets get to some pics already now. This will be the first batch, while Im working on some others to come soon.

Holy crap! That description and those pics are famtastic! I cant wait to run these.. Have I said that before? ;) But seriously, so enticing... And visually beautiful too.. Durban Poison really is one of those lines that seems to come and go alot... Relatively small and infrequent releases. I remember when SamS was giving SA D.Poison x Skunk 1 as freebies, still have an empty baggie/seedpack.

It took me three days to get through the whole thread! I gotta say that I didn't really read more than few posts, things here and there, but I got to say I haven't been long time so pleased than with this one. Amazing photos, made me drooling all over my tablet. Gotta appreciate your dedication to real sativa's! Im going to get back growing after long break and being to make my shopping list, nothing too big, just to get some ounces here and there!

Keep up the good work dude!

Mr. Nice Shit Update

Mr. Nice Shit Update

Alright gang, Im back with another update. This time on the Mr. Nice Shit. I dont have any more Shit seeds, or any males to make seeds with, so Im down to selecting a nice female or two out of the 7 or 8 females I have(only one lady shown in this update though).

I topped all of the ladies to try and get 4 main tops on each one. I ended up with 2 dominant tops, and a couple of secondary/dominant branches on the ladies. I should have done some lst'ing to the top two branches on the ladies to get more even results. They still need at least 1.5 months to finish, so I still have time to get on that.

As for flowering time, were probably around 35-45 days at this point. Since I dont harvest on a strict time table, I tend to be lax on keeping track of when I flowered a lady. Ill cut them down when they appear ready to me. At the end it typically will take 70-90 days for all the Shit females to be ready.

This is one of my fave ladies of the bunch. She also has a sister that looks nearly identical. These two are the cream of the crop. One has the sweet fruity/berry smell, while the other is a mix of sweet/berry & rotten-meat/hot-garbage/sweaty/bo. It smells better than it sounds I promise. heh.

The Thai/Hybrid from TSA mother has a similar terp profile to the rottenmeat/hotgarbage plants that are in Mr. Nice Shit. Maybe there is a lil skunk in the Afropip DP afterall. Got to try out that Phylos testing soon.

Ive been very pleased with how this lady and her twin sister have progressed into flowering with no signs of over-feeding, and barely any signs of N-def(a couple lower leaves are yellowing in first pic). It helps that these Skunk plants are much more salt tolerant than the DP, or Thai sticks. Feeding has been at around 350PPM Dyna Gro Grow formula. Ive also mixed in some very low PPM feedings at least once a week as well. Typically around 50ppm.

Lets get to some pics now. Enjoy. Ill be getting a few more pics ready to go with this update.

Im glad you enjoyed the pics Dirt Life. I hope soon all of you will get a chance to give these a run. Still waiting to hear back from OldPink on a status update.... The seeds are there, but the Durban still remains elusive to find. Hopefully we can make these beans a staple on the bay for anyone wanting to give them a run.

I always wanted to try Sams DP x Skunk but got into growing too late to find the beans. A pity. I would have enjoyed running them. At least you still have the seedpack!

Elsenor, Im guilty of the same thing myself, so I completely understand skimming here and there when going through a thread. Yet still it took you 3 days to get through it, so I appreciate the dedication! We also got a lurker to come out of the shadows, so thats even better.

Im glad you enjoyed the great photos. Tbh, they are the selling point of any good thread or journal. I enjoy reading about someones garden, but I really love looking at pics of beautiful plants when I open a thread.

This pic was taken without flash.

We got to sneak a nice healthy fan leaf in here. Just a minor touch of yellow tip to be seen.

Back to the flash again. I really need a better flash, Im using the built in one, and it really sucks balls. My cheaper digital camera I broke had a better built in flash.

I use a white plastic tbs for measuring over flash...a piece of paper...translucent drafting paper.I grab anything including putting 2 fingers in front of flash and spreading them a crack.

But dude those photos are looking top notch friend...you looking with out problems to me....I take lots and toss lots:)

Great job

try Fimming one or two babies between the 3rd and 5th nodes - gives a good chance at 4 possible top points while not slowing down growth as much as topping. Although both methods work well.

I definitely should have done it sooner in veg life, but Im a procrastinator at heart. I can't change who I am

Thanks for the support Ph. I get frustrated with how the pics look in lightroom 6, versus what gets uploaded here. The file size limit for pics reduces the quality somewhat of my ladies, but we got to live with it.

Thanks for the tips on the flash. Its something I really need to do some research on, and then experimenting until I get what Im looking for.

Speaking of pics, Ive got some shots of Durban Poison I(b) that Im preparing, so be on the look out for those everyone.

Durban Poison I(b) Harvest Day

Durban Poison I(b) Harvest Day

Well the waiting is over on this lady. She has been harvested around the 3 month mark with some excellent chunky buds to be found on her. Not my healthiest plant at harvest, but its all about the buds anyways, and they look pretty damn nice on her. Ill let you all decide.

No description of her aroma yet gang. Ill try to follow up that soon.
She developed a little more purpling over the last 2 weeks or so, but with it being summer not as much as I wanted. Im still satisfied with the purple highlights though.

I currently have two clones of her that are going through the reveg process, since the cuttings were taken during flower. Its still too soon to tell if she's going to have some of those funky fan leaves, but the growth coming in looks just like normal leaves, so fingers crossed.

This will be the first wave of pics, while I am editing the second batch. Enjoy for now everyone.
