Great looking Plants with nice Colors Dave, good work on them! :)

Thanks alot Pineapple Punch! Im glad you liked her. :tiphat:
Ive got a couple of clones of another DP in flower to share in the near future, so be on the look out for that. She's not as frosty looking, nor are her buds as chunky, but she has that lovely magenta/lavender color of buds.

While were on the subject of DP, the previous 5 seeds I started a couple months ago, gave me 1 lone lady :(. I did get 4 boys, and I was kinda wanting another male, so its not a total loss. Ill need to get some more DP seeds started soon. Id like to get more than just one female next batch.

This is one of my favorite threads, well documented. Your durban looks phenomenal. All the durban I've seen in person has been green. I'm curious to know if you're still running the Mr. Nice Shit. I saw a photo in post #201 from 2015 that looked stellar. If there was more info on it in the thread somewhere I couldn't find it.

Thanks so much Too-Dope! Im glad you've enjoyed the thread so much. I hope to keep it going long into the future.

Ive heard tale of some Purple Durban Poison out there from wading through forum posts, but I dont recall seeing any posted up before though. Someone had to do it! Everyone loves this Durban both online and IRL. Good news too Testers. Oldpink has been in contact with me, and he is going to try to contact you all this week and get the seeds shipped soon. Im really anxious to see how they turn out in others hands. Can't wait!

Im still running the Shit, but It doesn't get alot of thread time. Ive got a batch in flower atm. 6 females I believe. There were some photos posted just 2 or 3 pages back of my favorite shit lady atm.

I should do a photo update of them all soon. Some nice looking ladies Im hiding away. Check out my photo album for more Mr. Nice Shit pics in the meantime.

Ive ran Shit at least 5 times now, and although it does have intersex issues, its still a quality Skunk line, and performs very well in improving bud structure in any hybrid cross. The terp profiles are outstanding as well. Sweet, fruity-berry, to hot-garbage/rottenmeat/sweaty b.o. Often times a mix of the two terp profiles. Its one of my favs in terms of that.

Found everything in your album, it's a goldmine in there. The terps on the Shit sound awesome. I'm looking forward to when your Durban becomes available. You've done some great work with that line.

Theres some goodies in my other albums too if you haven't peaked into them yet. Im glad you enjoyed them!

I hope sometime this year we will see some Durban up on the Bay for anyone that's salivating over them, but the credit goes to Afropips for making them available years ago. I wish I had preserved all his lines I had picked up, but I can at least reintroduce this one, and quite frankly THIS is the best line of his I have grown, and I grew his Senegal Haze, Swazi Red, and Malawi Gold(although I butchered the MG). Thats one line of his Id really like back one day.

Still plenty of work to do with the Afropips though. Ultimately I want to go through alot of seeds I made and search for the Star Anise/Grape plants and work a line for that terp profile. I also really enjoy the terp profile DP-D gives off, the Sour Pineapple Punch in flower. Thats the two lines I hope to someday be able to produce and offer, then maybe we can call it my Durban at that point.

DESCRIPTION

Durban Poison - Regular (AfroPips)
Durban Poison selected from the potentest· Durban Poison sticks / pencils / slugs.
100% sativa, Durban Poison afropips seeds' origin goes to South Africa. They are absolutely adapted to the unstable European climate and became one of the popular marijuana seeds of Dutch Passion.
This strain is very easy to grow and can confuse you by having an indica look. They have fat dark leaves and don't seem to produce a lot of resin. The compact buds you will spot after 8-9 weeks are large and full of THC (8.6%). It's recommended not to judge this by its appearance.
No particular difficulties have been observed during this marijuana growing. Durban Poison is resistant to mould and mushroom. It needs just a usual caution against mite spiders and caterpillars when grown outdoors.
The flowering period is quite short a sativa. Planted in April, it Durban Poison Afropips is completely ready in the first week of September. If you like Thai aroma, you'll fully enjoy the Asian odour coming from this marijuana beauty during the whole veg period. The taste is described differently - either sweet liquorice or sweet aniseed; and the effect is the same - fast hitting, up high, all in the head. Why don't you try it yourself?

Afropips is a superior collection of genetics for the cannabis seed connoisseur
Their excellent range of cannabis seeds consists of African heritage landrace cannabis strains from legendary growing regions & top growers. It includes intriguing new f1 cultivars created by combining the finest African sativas with international fast flowering favorites & Cannabis Cup Winners.
These strains show superb hybrid vigour, as one would expect from their high quality parentage. Afropips was started in the year 2000 to satisfy the palette & medical requirements of the Afroman, their breeder. All seeds are professionally selected; pressure tested, packaged and sealed
About Afroman
"I was raised in Africa & started smoking Durban Poison in my hometown in the late 70's. I systematically worked my way through Transkei , Swazi, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia & Zimbabwean weed, ending up settling for the Best - Malawi. Malawi Gold has been my first choice & everyday weed since then - 1985-2000. In the year 2000 I moved to England & this is when I started to create New African Hybrids mainly to satisfy my personal taste & effect preferences. My First Wife is Mary Jane, My Harem & offspring stretch to the 4 corners of the planet. I like to maintain a perpetual garden with 4 harvests a year. Special plants that are harvested at the beginning of the year are regenerated & reharvested at the end of the year. My first grow was destroyed by them babylon in 1988. Love of Ganja got me growing & my personal taste & high preference got me into breeding."
Afroman sadly passed away on the 1st of September 2008 at the age of 43 years. After decades working with the cannabis plant, James may have passed away but his legacy lives on.

Thanks for the postup Crossbones. Excellent info on the DP. Regarding the Myth of Afroman passing away in 2008, this email from Afroman in 2010 may change your mind...

Classic Seeds Gold Diesel and Ace Tropical mix 2012 Update

Classic Seeds Gold Diesel and Ace Tropical mix 2012 Update

Hey gang, remember about 3 months ago I popped some Classic Seeds Columbian Gold x Sour Diesel, and Ace Tropical Mix? You may have forgotten since we've not seen any updates on them in so long.

We ended up with 13 Gold Diesel plants, and 7 Ace Tropical Mix females. If my eyes are not wrong, It looks like I ended up with 12 Gold Diesel females, and one male! Easiest selection for a male ever! Ill collect some pollen from him and dust up my favorite females, so that Ill have more seeds to someday explore if its a quality line.

As for the Ace mix, there's no doubt these are some NLD varieties, with some having 11 thing bladed fan leaves. I can already tell they're gonna take over the flower room when they get moved in there. I may not even flower the seed plants. Id prefer to work with the shorter more compact clones Ive taken of them.

Were at least 2 weeks away before I have more spare room in the flower room, and Id prefer to use that space for the Gold Diesel, so the Ace Tropical Mix will end up on the back-burner for awhile, but when they enter the flower chamber we will see them again.

Ive been impressed with the vigor of both lines. I stalled them a bit early on by keeping them in their starting containers too long, and under-feeding. When they were transplanted, and feed was increased they took off and have nearly outgrown my veg tent.

Ive also decreased my veg time from 18/6 to 15/9. You may wonder why the switch? After all more light is a good thing right...Not if you're causing photoinhibition and possibly photodamage with excess light that the plants can't utilize. 18 hours of light in a day is really a fucking lot when we consider there is no so reduction in light intensity at any point during the 18 hours the lights are on.

I began to realize something was wrong in the veg tent about a month ago. The plants were healthy and green looking, but the leaves didn't have the supple, rich feel they should have. Instead they appeared more mat green, with a rougher texture to the leaves. They were lacking somewhat in vigor too, but growing steadily.

I thought maybe I was under-feeding them for a moment and I was preparing to up the feed, but then I had to drastically reduce lights on hours during a 3 day period where my AC was DOWN. They got no more than 1-2 hours of light a day as it is just was too hot to run any longer. As I expected the new leaves that came in during this period were chlorotic. A lime-green neon color from a lack of chlorophyll not being formed during the excessive darkness. But that wasn't the only thing different about the new leaves. They had that soft velvety feel to them that Ive been missing for awhile, so I thought maybe Ive been giving too much light, so I reduced the light schedule to 15/9. Within 2 days of being on the new schedule, the new growth was a luxurious rich shade of green, and still velvety soft to the touch.

After a week+ new growth continues to look shiny, and healthy. Much better NOW than when the lights were on 18/6. Plant vigor has improved as well, to the point the plants are on the verge of over-growing the tent. Im also spending less on electricity too, which is always a bonus!

I dont know what light schedule you all use during veg, but I recommend trying it at a reduced amount for a week and see if you like the results. You may be surprised.

The one downside is that all of my Durban Poison males are flowering now....Ive had the same problem with males of other strains as well before like Mr. Nice Shit that would often develop pollen sacks during even 18 hours of lights on. Solve one problem, and another replaces it. Ill just have to keep my males under a diff light schedule from the females then.

One extra note, all the plants have been topped cept for one Golden Diesel. I saved her because I want to see at least 1 plant with a singular main cola.

Lets get to a few pics. Enjoy, and Ive got some pics to be worked on and uploaded very soon. Some fan leaf porn for those that can appreciate more than buds

**I really need to stop using auto focus for these pics. Manual focus produces better results. The extra pics coming up of the fan leaves tonight were all shot in manual, so I think they'll be more crisp.

Beautiful healthy plants! Your panorama picture is first class!

Thanks c64! I try my best. Ive seen a few of your ladies posted around these forums, and I have to say Ive always been impressed with your ladies too!

I discovered the pan feature months after first buying the camera, and thought why hadn't I seen this sooner. The panorama is sweet! Ill have to try it sometime in the flower room soon.
Right, love your pics!:canabis:

Thanks Nico Farmer. Im glad to share them with everyone, and happier to know people enjoy em too . Were gonna have some Pics of Mr. Nice Shit coming up in the near future. I think that'd be a good time for a Pan shot too! Stay tuned, and I hope you'll like them too!

Looking beautiful as usual Dave. :good:
Have you thought about running a low wattage LED/CFL for a couple of hours during the during the dark cycle? It should be enough light to prevent flowering while still reducing photoinhibition.
