Afropip Durban Poison D Update
Afropip Durban Poison D Update
Well gang, I had a bunch of pictures I was going to use to detail this ladies life from a revegged clone that I took when she was almost 3 months flowering, and work my way up to what she looks like now. Apparently, I must have gotten really really high one night because Ive deleted them from my camera, and they've not been imported into Lightroom 6. Oops. Sorrrrryyyy.
Ill work with the photos I have. Im sure it'll suffice. Ill try to get some nice closeup ones tonight if possible for you all.
This lady DP-D is the sole remaining original seed-plant I have left of the females. Through negligence on my part, and plants failing to reveg, Ive whittled my 7 ladies down to just 1 original seed-plant female. I did cull 2 for seriously bad intersex problems though. Mind you, Ive made seeds with 3 of the original moms, with DP-D getting that treatment this cycle, and the offspring of DP-I(anise-grape), will be dusted with pollen too this cycle. Essentially 5 seedlines from 5 of the best moms to work with using only DP-C male as he's the only one to never show intersex traits. I hope the offspring will take after the Dad. That'll be a serious focus heading forwards in the development of this line. My hopes are on the Anise/Grape(DP-Ib), and Sour Pineapple Punch(DP-D) lines. Sound good right?
I highly recommend everyone make seeds with their favorite plants/lines. Ive lost many lines I wish I could have back. If only I had made seeds then. Its not the end of the world if your mom dies as long as you made seeds. Plus its actually fun to go through a bunch of seeds finding a new mom replacement tbh.
Do I still have your attention after all those words? Good lets continue onwards! Btw this post brought to you by Gypsy Thai-F. Im sampling some buds thats been jar cured for 6 weeks, and it only took a couple of small bowls to feel the effects overcoming me. Without going into detail, its just what I needed right now.
Shew..I think I just spent the last 20 minutes in another world. I had put on some music right as I finished the last paragraph..The music lasts about 20 minutes for all the songs to play. All I remember during that time is puffing on my pipe slowly, and then the last song came on, and I realized the album was ending. What seemed like a few minutes was 20 minutes! I love the time-warping effect of Thai. I would often experience that in Skunkmans HazeSkunk, which is quite enjoyable to say the least. If you've not grown a Thai before, you REALLY need to try it. Its a must grow variety. Put it on your bucket list.
This is what Im looking for in my ladies. I can't wait to sweat-cure some of these Thai buds and see how much better they become afterwards. Thanks again Tang for all the work you've done pioneering it!
Okay gang, Im gonna get to some photos now before I get lost in another world again. Its hard to hang on. The music sound so amazing. Ah I love a good pure sativa.
Here we have our nice healthy rootball waiting to be prepped and transplanted into a 5 gallon container? I think its 5. I went bigger than I ever have before with them. I dont know what everyone rootballs look like, but if you dont have roots right below the surface as seen in this pic, then you need to keep your upper media moister. I never let the upper media dry out. In fact strive to keep your plants at a 'moist' level at all times. Wet/dry cycles are bad. Keeping the media consistently at the right moisture level will give you the best root growth. Tensiometers are a great tool if you need help in that area in determining the right moisture levels, but they're training wheels once you've dong it enough.
Oh fuck, this Thai makes me go on and on when Im here, but when Im in the other world my fingers dont work so well..
The roots are fairly white, but Id like to see them fuzzier in the future. This lady is hand watered btw.
Egads, WTF did you do to that plant Dave!!! Well, let me tell you. I took my palm, rested it up against the side of the rootball, and ran it up and down quickly sloughing off the roots. Bits and pieces of roots littered the floor when I was done. I even got up underneath her butt, and ripped out chunks of roots. I get rough with my girls when I transplant them. Sometimes I even stick my finger in the rootball...
Why do you do this Dave? Not the finger part, but the sloughing part, you pervs! I do this, so that in 2 weeks, my new rootball, will look just as good or even better than the previous rootball we saw above. Within 2-3 days, I had white fuzzy roots poking their heads out of the holes in the bottom, and roots running down the side of the rootball. Watering is Key post transplant too. Dont forget, the old rootball will need water sooner, than the surrounding media after a transplant..There is an intermediary stage of transplant thats easy to fuck up with improper watering. Ive learned that lesson quite a few times lol.
Here we have the base of the plant growing out of the old flowers that I had revegged. The flowers continued for a long time even after the plant had fully revegged. Vegging up top, and flowering down below.
Okay gang, Ive got more pictures to prepare. I dont know if Ill be back with them tonight though!
