GN TSF Finished Buds

GN TSF Finished Buds

Ive got some pics to share of this lady or should I say her buds. I failed to snap any pics of her before cutting her up into bits and pieces. The buds will just have to do.

She flowered for around 5-5.5 months. Her buds remind me alot of TSA, but just more full, thicker bodied. More foxtails to be found. Very sticky when breaking buds up. No grinding necessary, just pull some foxtails from the bud and load up your pipe. Has a very strong citrus/menthol smell/taste to me. Most people notice the Citrus above all else.

Yield was around 3 oz. Smoked alot and shared alot already. Im going to stash away a few nice colas for long term storage to be smoke tested at a later date.

The first couple of pics were shot with a very high ISO giving the picture lots of grain. Kinda reminds me of pics from Old Seedbank Catalogs from the 80's before we started seeing flawless pics of buds in high times and elsewhere. I kinda like it.

Low Iso Shot, so no grain.

I could have harvested sooner with her. You can see the yellowing of the Calyxes. I prefer them to be more green than yellow.

Congrats on the harvest and thanks for sharing the pics. I really like the warm feel of those high iso shots and can see why they were preferred to blowing things out with a flash back in the day as they really are beautiful :good:

How's the initial buzz from the thai stick treating you?

Afropips Durban Poison x GN Thai Stick G Big Bertha Update

Afropips Durban Poison x GN Thai Stick G Big Bertha Update

Ive snapped some more pics of the Big Girl in my garden last night, and I wanted to share with you all. Tang, if you thought she was looking plump and juicy before, you'll love how far she has come in the last 3 weeks. She's really getting fat!

Right now she is around 9/10 weeks flowering. Another 45days-60days from her present looks I think, but we'll just wait and see. Alot of that going around in this thread with these long flowering plants.

Im glad you liked the high iso shots too. I didn't plan on it originally, but it has a nice look. Ill try and recreate some more in the future like that.

The high is a nice clear, energetic type high. Lends itself towards a social high. I think TSA was better right after chopping down, but i expect TSF to get better with some cobbing/aging,curing.

Make that bitch sweat Dave. I would love to get my hands on a few of those branches.
Tangwena

You and illuminate convinced me time to do some more cobbing. Ive got plenty of TSE, and TSG left to make cobs with. Ill be picking up a yogurt maker tonight to accelerate the process.

2nd vote for cobs.

Its gonna happen. Ill make sure to share some pics of the cobs later.

Kudos Dave. Beautiful plant. The cross sounds like a can't miss.:tiphat:
Im glad you like her Jack. She turned out nicer than I could have imagined. There are some tentative plans to bring some to the SeedBay. Id like to share these plants with anyone curious enough to try them out. There is also going to be a bonus inclusion of Pure Afropip Durban Poison reproduction seeds with each order.

There is some interest in the Durban Poison and when they'd be available. I dont have a huge amount ATM, but Ive enough to make some available finally.

Thats going to be as thick as my thigh come harvest, massive bud in the making.

You're too kind with your praise Tang, but I do appreciate every bit of it. Id love for this lady to surpass her mom in bud-size. So far off to a very good start!

Smells amazing too. Reminds of opening a fresh bag of Cherry/Menthol Halls. She has some sour citrus undertones as well.

I think this cross was on my mind long ago when I saw Durban Thai Highflyer in the old seedbank catalogs. Long before my time to be able to acquire it when I began to grow, so why not make my own!

Much work to be done with it going forward, but I think were off to a good start.

Thanks for the support. Im glad she pleases you and everyone else. Expect to see more of her and her siblings in the near future.

Ive even got something new coming into the garden. Some Classic Seeds Columbian x Sour Diesel. A special gift he gave me some years ago. I wish he was still active here to see them started.

One last pic of the previous lady. To give a little perspective on the size of the bud.

ShitHaze Harvest

ShitHaze Harvest

I just took one more lady down the other night. The ShitHaze aka SkunkHaze went to 100-110 days. I dont recall exactly. Too many drugs..

She was a fun diversion for awhile, but its time to devote more resources towards other plants. Ive got some Classic Seeds Columbian Gold x Sour Diesel, and some Ace Tropical Mix from 2012 to care for. Those are already in the media, and were beginning to break the surface yesterday. Pics of those lil ones soon.

Im hoping the yield will be better than the seed plant with so many tops, but Im disappointed I didn't get spears like I did the seed plant. Ill just have to take what she gives me and enjoy it.

Ill try to snap a few pics of the branches hanging up today, and get those posted up soon. Expect to see some shots of the finished buds in about a week.

Classic Seeds Columbian Gold x Sour Diesel

Classic Seeds Columbian Gold x Sour Diesel

This will mark the beginning of Day 1 for these seedlings.

These seeds were a pale white. Paler than any other seeds in my stash, but they took on more color after soaking. After 2 days of soaking in water, and rootshield granules, the tails popped and I moved them into my normal potting media, which is Promix High Porosity Mix w/Myco bio-fungicide, with 15% by volume of Bio-char/Calcined DE/Calcined Montmorillonite mixture. Sprinkle some rootshield in there, and 4grams of Osmocote/gallon of media too. Thats the media mix I use for my plants, although Im out of bio-char atm, but its more of a luxury than vital.

I crushed one poor seed in my fingers by accident, but still ended up with 13/13 germinated. 100% Germination! It'll be another few hours before all crack the surface. Two are just right below the surface when I brushed back some media. I couldn't resist looking.

The Ace Seeds tropical mix only had one tail showing after 2 days, and only 3 have popped the surface of the soil so far, yet they were the healthier looking seeds. Go figure. I went ahead and planted all the Ace Tropical Mix after 2 days of soaking. I usually do a one day soak on seeds, then plant, but got behind by a day.

I dont have any Strain Description other than whats in the name for the Columbian Diesel cross. Two well known varieties crossed together. I can't imagine it'd be bad.

A few pics to go with the words now. Ill get some more snapped tonight now that they're above the media.

I know most people probably dont get too excited about Mixes, as they dont know what they're gonna get, but I like the mystery! Im excited too to see what I find in those seeds. Ill get some pics of those lil seedlings up as soon as more break the surface. Slow starters they are, but Im a patient guy.

Afropips Durban Poison x GN Thai Stick G Lil Sister Update

Afropips Durban Poison x GN Thai Stick G Lil Sister Update

Its been awhile since we got to see this lady. She is progressing quickly, even with luxurious fertility levels. I believe this lady is 10 or 11 weeks into flowering so far, and should be ready within a month. 15 or 16 weeks I think is whats she needs to finish.

She has alot of brown pistils, and only a smattering of white pistils still coming in. Calyxes are beginning to swell and stack at this point. Her big sister will definitely need more time as she's still a flush in white pistils, but this update is about the lil sis.

Its hard for me to describe her smell other than Dank. I hate to use a simple term to describe the smell, but its the best description I can give at this time. The other two sisters I can piece together what they smell like, but this lady just exudes ripe, stanky dank. Not at all a complex terp profile, like her two sisters, but still enjoyable. It could change more over the next month.

I need to put a pot under her and raise her up another 8-10 inches or so. Her big sis is close to two feet taller. Maybe more, and she is showing signs of N-fade from being closer to the lights. This lady has been pretty far away, and I can speed up the depletion of nutrients in the media by simply raising her up closer to the lights.
I do like a bit of a fade near the end.

Unrelated to this, but I found an old branch of Durban Poison I buds that I hadn't gotten around to trimming. Just sitting in my trim closet. Actually has an excellent texture. Didn't dry out at all. Im enjoying them now, and loving the Anise,Grape taste and smell. Great gift to myself on 4/20. Happy 420 everyone! Smoke up till you cant anymore!

Lets get some pics up of this pretty lady we were talking about.

Seedling Update

Seedling Update

Its been a few days since the seeds were planted into the media, and we have 13 of 13, 100% Germination on the Classic Seeds Gold Diesel! Although in the pic below you wont be able to see the one in the far back left. It hadn't broken the surface at the time of the pics(4/19).

7/12 or 58% on the Ace Mix seeds. Bummer. Ill keep the containers hydrated with the hopes that they'll spring up later. 20 seedlings should be enough to keep me busy right? Nope. I went ahead and began a germination test of the Durban Poison reproduction seeds I made. I need to make sure they're healthy before sending to the Bay. Im excited to begin more of these Durban Poison seeds, and see what I get out of them. I think I started another 10-12 seeds. I know everyone will be happy to see some more Durban around here. I can't wait myself!

Gold Diesel Day 1
The two larger containers are Tropical mix.

Ya keep at it with those seeds. I've had seeds take 2 weeks to come up after there brothers and sisters. After which they grew into normal plants. Maybe buried too deep or just slow out of the gate but turned into lovely smoke none the less.

I probably don't say it enough but everything is looking top notch in your garden.

Peace GG

No new ones since we last updated on them, but Im gonna keep em around for the 2 weeks and hope I get lucky. If not, ill just reuse the soil for an upcan or something.

I did have a dream last night that all of my Durban Poison seeds were now seedlings. Green healthy seedlings raring to go. As soon as I woke up, I ran to check on them....Heh. I had 6 Durban P babies that had broken the surface! :woohoo:
Im so excited!

Speaking of Durban Poison seeds, according to Oldpink before I can list anything on seedbay I must first find testers for said seeds and gauge everyones interest in what I am offering. That's going to make some people very lucky as they'll get to test out the Durban Poison. To those of you who have contacted me before about the DP, Ill be reaching out to you to see if you want to become testers. I do hope some people are interested. It'd be a shame if no one was excited to grow out their very own gorgeous deep-purple Durban Poison. That rare grape-licorice lady to be found..Nah, no one would be interested.

Although, many times Ive seen testers offered for people to grow out, but rarely get any feedback let alone grow logs of said testers, so I hope anyone that does get some of the testers that they do grow them out and share pics on the forums, including here too. If you have an active journal or at least an album of your plants, Ill give you priority as a tester. Sorry lurkers. Create an account, and become a part of the community here. Everyone wins then!

There wont be any Durban x Thai Hybrid testers though. I discovered Big Bertha carries the dreaded intersex trait. Ive been picking nanners off her for the last week. Very sad. Such massive huge bud on her, but I can't run her a second time, let alone offer any seeds from the TSG line.

Ill be starting a batch of seeds from the TSA line soon to further test for intersex traits. The Thai mom used has never showed intersex traits after 4 times flowered, but the DP line does carry the intersex trait to a degree. Im hoping the offspring will take after the Mom. If I can get through flowering with no signs of nanners, or next to none, then Ill make them available as testers too.

X2, The above said seed offer made a long time lurker sign-up.. 8)

That being said, Been reading and studying hard in this long ago found on google thread.. got all caught up and ended up reading it thru.. Amazing... Newbie surfing to help his own little DP from seed garden grow.. Your Purple DP looks like it may be a rare BlueBerry x Durban cross - wide short leaves.. that back to Thai for the high flyer version...

Outstanding..... :tiphat:
