Thai Update ????

I know I said I was going to update on TSA next, but I snapped so many pics of her, it'll take me way too long to get them ready for an update, so I opted to get a few pics up of Thai Stick G, one of my favorites.

She's the one who produces the uuuuuuugggggeeee buds! Some donkey dicks this round again with her, and she's not done just yet. Ive lost count of how far she is into flowering. TSA is already down and in a tupperware container atm, while TSG and her siblings continue flowering. The plant with the most delicate bud structure, foxtails galore, is the fastest finisher. While the one with the biggest buds out of all of them still needs another month to finish. Both fed the same nutrient profile through flowering too!

These big buds have just a smidget of seeds in them this time around as I made some more seeds with DP-C male. Not to the extreme as last time though. Just wanted a few fresh seeds from each Thai Mom to add to my collection.

She has been on water only for the last few weeks, but the buds just continue to get bigger and bigger. They're getting out of control!

Ill try to get to TSA soon now that Ive got some finished buds. Need to trim them, and get some good pics of the buds for you all.

Thai Update

Thai Update

Hey gang, Im back for an update on whats been going on with the 4 Gypsy Nirvana Thai Stick ladies. We've not seen much of them lately, but they've been flowering for a bit over 5 months now all crammed into a large tent with a screen to help hold up the heavy buds.

TSA and TSE have already come down. Of course Ive got pics of those two, so dont worry. TSA will be featured tonight. TSG and TSF are still flowering, with TSG looking ripe for the taking very soon. Still see some fresh pistils, but the buds are huge. Loaded with foxtails stacked up on foxtails glistening with that silvery sheen of resin glands.

TSF looks like she needs 2 more months! Loads of fresh white pistils at the end of her sticky foxtail laden buds. This lady has a two foot main cola that lays across the screen. It'd probably touch the bottom of the light if I tried to stand it up, so Ive just let it lay and do its own thing. Pics of TSG, and TSE are on my to do list, along with a million other things, so please dont hold me to a time table....

Sadly, 3 of the 4 ladies showed intersex traits this time during flowering. I expected it from TSF as she has done it every time during previous runs, but its at a tolerable level for me, although Ive considered culling her, but I really want to see her go longer and see what happens. I did introduce light leaks on periodic occasions during flowering this time, so its good to know now those traits are present but often hidden. The only plant NOT to show intersex traits was TSA.

Even TSG, and TSE who have never showed those traits had some nanners pop up at the 4+month mark of flowering. I even spotted a couple tonight on TSG, that I pulled off and ate. My cat likes to eat the bottom leaves. I guess she is taking after me. Follows me around like a puppy dog as well.

Ill be making some cobs with all of these ladies, as well as leaving plenty for the classic jar method. Or in my case large tupper ware containers because the yield demands it! I enjoy my cobs, but I also enjoy the taste and smell of buds not cobbed too much to give em up.

I better get some pics up before I lose ya hehe!

These are of TSA right before her harvest. Took her down in under 5 months this time. She was the lady who long ago was taken to 31 weeks of flowering! It was unnecessary, but it was my first time flowering the Thai, and I thought I wanted a golden brown look to the buds. I realize now, you want to harvest when the calyxes are still green. With maybe a touch of yellowing to the calyxes if you prefer. The golden brown look of the first run buds was caused by severe N deficiency. Deprive the plant of N long enough, it will even strip it from older calyxes to feed new growth with these Thai. I avoid that now a-days.

Kinda blurry, but it'll get better. I kept her in a one gallon container all through flowering. Nearly 5 months of hand watering about every other night.

This lady was fed the same feed strength as TSG, TSE throughout flowering but produced the smallest buds of all of them. Long delicate foxtails making up what you might confuse for buds.

She packs a wallop though. My tolerance is through the roof and it typically takes 3-4 large bowls just to make a dent. Even the 4 month old thai cob I made isn't as strong as TSA is right now. This lady takes two bowls tops to cut through my tolerance, and anything beyond that is just for pure pleasure! Its the best she's ever produced for me high-wise, and thats without any cure. She high likes to come on in waves, just when you think you couldn't get higher, suddenly the wave crashes into you, and you feel it surge through you as your eyes widen and a intense feeling permeates your whole body. You might even grip your couch or chair. Heh.

Thanks for hopping in Claude. Hope you'll stick around awhile. Its a long read, and I appreciate you taking the time to read through it. Maybe some of it will prove helpful. :tiphat:''

A few more closeup shots of Thai Stick A using the extension tubes. They do an excellent job letting me take my lens much closer, getting some nice closeups. They'll only get better once I get that budget macro lens, and a good tripod.

Just goes to show you dont need dense sticky nugget type buds to get a good high.
Good buds dont need to look glamorous like the resin laden hash buds. Its whats in the resin that counts.
Cant wait to see some cured bud shots when their ready.

Thats if there is any left! Its hard to resist smoking it. Im saving the very best looking buds for some glamour shots soon, and that will be stashed away in a deep, dark hole, where I will forget about it. Hopefully for 6 months or so before rediscovering it.

Those resin laden hash buds probably have no more resin glands than these Thai do. Those super frosty plants are very deceptive. Look at them close enough, and you'll see the stalks the glands sit upon are long, and twisting all over each other, giving the appearance of more resin glands than may actually be present.

While on the thai the glands look like a sea of little mushroom heads, with very little stalk to be seen.I know which I prefer! Skunkmans HazexSkunk really illustrates it if you ever get to grow it. I highly recommend it!

Day 60 Shit Haze Update

Day 60 Shit Haze Update

This lady is actually at around 90 days at this point. Ive got a backlog of pics and updates thats for sure.

She's the lone holdover from the ShitHaze plants I had awhile back. This will be her last run. Id rather devote my space to more Durban Poison seeds Ive got sitting in the fridge. Im anxious to see whats in the second generation of DP. I think some viewers here would love to see more Durban P seedlings. Stay patient!

She's not going to have the nice long spears when finished like the first run was. The reveg process left her with lots of branches, and Ive ended up with lots of golf ball sized nugs. No spears this time. Should be an improved yield when she's finally done thanks to so many nuggets.

Last night I scrapped some buds that were still on the lower part of the plant from where she revegged from. Wasn't much left but enough for a few bowls. Had a great taste and smell still. Tasted like exotic fruit, and cherry cough syrup. Yummy! I can't wait till I can enjoy the finished product from her. She needs another 3-4 weeks from current looks. Ill try to get some pics of her up around Day 100.

A few pics of her around Day 60.

Durban P x GN Thai Hybrid Update

Durban P x GN Thai Hybrid Update

Ive currently got 3 Durban x Thai females flowering, but this is from the very first batch of seeds I started. The unintentional ones before I officially made the crossing using DP-C male. She was one of 3 I had then, and I kept her only as she had the largest calyxes and largest buds of the 3. A very nice hue of purple sets in late in flowering too. All around a nice plant to look at. Wonderful terp profile to boot as well.

She's incredibly bushy, where as last time she was one tall ass plant. Taller than me, that I had to bend the main cola down. Now she is short and compact with over 20 flowering tops. The reveg process helped branch her out initially, then lots of topping before and even in very early flowering lead to such a wide bushy plant. Its gonna be a challenge to hold up those branches later.

Ive begun a monthly feed of Dyna Grow Pro-tekt for her to provide some silicon and K. Lets hope it'll make those branches sturdier. I used to use Agsil 16H, but if you leave the lid off for too long you'll ruin it as it hardens into a solid block as it sucks moisture out of the atmosphere. Yeah I did that. Ill take the convenience and higher price that comes with Pro-tekt. Ill soon be putting bamboo stakes in to support the ladies. Gonna need a load of them!

Here is a quick reminder of how she looked during the end of her 1st flowering.

Now this is how she looks on her second run early flowering.

DurbanxThai 6 weeks flowering(Reveg plant)

DurbanxThai 6 weeks flowering(Reveg plant)

Its only been a day or so since I updated on this lady, but these photos were snapped on the 30th, and are 19 days later. She has branched out more over that time, with an increase in tops from before. I can't wait to see those tops fill out over the next 11-12 weeks.

Still very healthy with loads of green leaves all over. Just like I like them. Her fertility levels are on the luxurious side right now, but she's been on a low feed diet for about a month as I allow the fertility levels to drop naturally into my desired range. I dont much care for flushing, as it wastes water, nutrients, and damages the roots. The plant will take care of excess nutrients in the media by itself by up-taking them over time if we just reduce the input of nutrients.

The Durban half of this cross is rather resilient to high fertility levels, whereas the Thai are more sensitive. Thankfully all 3 ladies lean towards the DP side when it comes to salt-sensitivity.

She's due for a silicone feeding next chance I get. Time to stake her up for good measure too. Expect to see alot of bamboo stakes in there next time we see her.

Thanks Tang Buddy. Im real proud of how she has come along so far. If you think she is nice wait until you see the tall DPxThai in the garden. You're gonna be like, Damnnnnnnn!

Ive got some pics of the three together in my camera that I need to get to processing very soon. They take a great family shot together hehe. Should be an update on the other two sometime tonight. Stay tuned.

Thanks GG! Im glad you like her too. Ive got more free time on my hands now, so Ill be able to provide even better care to my ladies in the future. Ill also have more time for updates now too!

This lady did branch out alot just from the reveg process. Some of the tops were more dominant than others, so I pinched the terminal buds off the dominant ones allowing lower branches to catch up. As they caught up I would pinch off their terminal buds. This process repeated 2-3 times before flowering and into early flowering, which on this lady lasts about a month. And when I say terminal bud, I mean terminal growing point if there is any confusion. There were no actual buds harmed in this process.

I was pretty happy with the final form of her after all the pinching. She's wide enough to demand the whole footprint under the 600w MH. She has to share it with her two sisters though, but once the ShitHaze comes down Ill have more space for the 3 of them to shine.

The them looking like that you could update everyday and never bore us

Thats pleases me to hear Seeded. You'll get your wish as Ive got more time to devote to updates. Ill also be starting some more seeds too, so expect to see the garden get more crowded.

Im thinking Thai Stick A x Durban Poison C is next in line. TSA has flowered 4 times with no signs of intersex, and I think her seeds offer me the best chance of finding a good Hybrid line with the least intersex problems.

When the lights come on tonight, Ill see if I can get some sniff results for you. All 3 smell completely different from each other as of now though, but all 3 offer a nice bouquet to the nose.

Afropip Durban Poison C x GN Thai Stick G Update

Afropip Durban Poison C x GN Thai Stick G Update

We've not seen these ladies since they were about 6 or 7 weeks old when they were still in veg, but now were 6-7 weeks into flower I believe. I always forget to mark the beginning of flower most of the time. Im too used to cutting down by looks and not by X days passing. No scheduled timetable for flowering on these ladies. They'll get as much time as they need.

Out of the 18 seeds I had started with this line, I kept 4 to be flowered. They were the fastest growing, outpacing other seedlings by multiple nodes of growth, and by no surprise they had the fastest rate of leaf expansion. Lateral growth on these 4 surpassed all the other seedlings too. No shocker there.

I was very happy with the 4 as they began flowering, with 2 separating out as boys and 2 as girls. I let the boys go awhile to learn a little bit how they flower, but with intentions to cut down before they ever dropped pollen. Shortly before the pollen sacks dropped, I started seeing pistils developing on the two "male" plants. I was very disheartened to see that in them. I believe that issue was from Thai Stick G as she did throw a small amount of nanners in flowering this 4th time around.

Immediately culled the two plants, and have been running the remaining two since then. So far they lack any signs of intersex traits, but we still have 2-3 months before they are finished. Lets hope none spring up on these ladies.

I was going to run more of this TSG seedline as the mom has huge buds, and I wanted to see just what those offspring can produce but it looks like Ill need to focus more on the TSA line, but I probably will still find time for some of the TSG line here and there.

Now for some pics of two Hybrids with ShitHaze in the background. After that will be pics of the Shorter sister, with the leggy one coming up later.

19 Days have passed since the previous photo was taken. She's developing very quickly id say!

Trichs on the fans Dave going to be good !

Ive got high hopes for these ladies. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Ive got some pics of the taller sister to share today. Her buds are bigger than the shorter sister. In fact both have bigger buds than their Stepsister from the TSA line, and that plant was started even sooner and is on its second flowering run. I think we'll see something really nice in a couple of months with these ladies.

Shit, if you like her now just wait till you see the next photo update of her. Its been close to 3 weeks now since I last snapped pics of her, and the main cola has definitely swelled quite a bit!

Working on some GN TSF finished bud pics atm. Didnt get pics of the plant before I harvested her, but Im sure some nice Thai bud shots will suffice.
