Durban Durban and More Durban

Durban Durban and More Durban

Here are some pics of Afropips Durban Poison in a cob, in a one quart mason jar, and a larger container. Maybe 2qt, or 2.5 qt. I know its jam packed to the rim with gorgeous, sticky, stinky buds waiting to be consumed in a variety of ways. Hehe.

Great, now I'm drooling on my keyboard. Looks amazing Dave.
You really are dialing in these plant's. Seems they get better each time you run them.

Thanks Ph-Patrol. It takes quite the patience to finish them properly. If you love the Thai now, wait till you see future updates on TSG. She's gonna blow you away. In fact Ive got a couple pics of a main cola coming up soon.

Huge harvest for a plant grown indoors, respect my friend nice.
Tangwena

Thanks tang. Most of these large sativas usually give me in the 4-6 oz range at the end of their runs. Plenty enough for me to enjoy, but Id love an opportunity to run these ladies outdoors and see what they really can do.

I received some of these beans during a seed swap a few months back. And you have me seriously considering finding a male in this line to breed with my Chocolate Thai dominant Sour Purple Hornblower pheno. She is a true chocolate thai variety, they have lots of visual similarities. The SPH has denser flowers visually, with larger swollen calyxs. This still looks like a suitable variety to consider. Especially for refining the thai in her.

Likewise man, this is one of my goals in life. Thinking about outdoors anytime soon? I am hoping next year but might be two years. Those plants do seem to look better with each run. I have found this to be true as well with keeper clones. Wish I could get my hands on some of those original Durban poison cus them are beautiful :tiphat:.

Ive got some more Thai Stick going up tonight Ph Patrol. I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming update of Thai Stick F. We've not gotten to see her much around here as its only the 2nd time flowering her, and first time as a clone. I think you'll like her too.

If you are lucky enough to find a male in the line... I had no luck with my set of beans. It may be difficult. Got plenty of beans? I hope you can find one though. I really wish I had a male...

Ill just have to settle for using my Thai ladies in crosses instead. You definitely should grow out those beans and have some fun with them. They'll challenge you, but it'll be fun and rewarding. Just make sure to run each lady multiple times, as they only get better each run.

Ive done outdoors once and it was a bitch and I didn't enjoy it that much. I wouldn't have the luxury of growing in my backyard and being able to pamper the ladies. Doesn't mean I still wouldn't like to try it sometime, but in a more hospitable atmosphere.

Maybe someday in the future there will be some afropip repro beans available for those wanting to try it out. Ive got 3 males, and 4 females remaining to make some beans with. Im currently working on pollinating my Thai ladies with pollen from my favorite Durban male atm. One lady pollinated, 3 to go...

This is the branch that was pollinated with lots of pollen from my fav Durban Male. Lots of white pistils are now dark brown/amber color indicating success! Beans are likely to be done before the rest of the plant. I cant wait to grow them out!

Great harvest on the Durban Poison...I can't wait to see the Thai harvest. I too am a 100% Sativa man. No Indica in my garden -- unless I want to make some nice hash.

Guys, and gals, there was more pics to go with my last Thai update, but then my internet crapped out and Ive had intermittent access the last few days. Seemingly, it will crap out any time I try to use it just to piss me off give me the big F.U., so updates have been hard to do.

Im gonna start things off with the remaining pics of Thai Stick F. Ill try to get this post up as fast as I can before the internet gods strike me down.

This lady doesn't has as many leaves as she once did. She's really sucking down nutrients down and the reservoir set at 300-340ppm wasnt' cutting it. At one point she was over-fed, but quickly turned the corner and is now gobbling down nutrients..too fast. I can't keep most of the Thai fed, and Im losing lots of fan leaves each night. If I miss even ONE DAILY feeding, Ill come home and have at least a dozen leaves falling off, some crinkled and brown, some on the ground, some that fall off at the slightest touch.

Soil fertility results using Blue Lab Combo Meter, and Hanna Suction Lysimeter of all the ladies is around 540-980ppm. Seeing N def progressing on all of them at this moment. I could skirt by with that level of fertility for the earlier stages of flowering and it not be as bad, but now were entering the peak phase of flowering. Right at Day 90, which means lot more Thai 3 month updates very soon for everyone to enjoy. They wont be as pretty as they once were, but it'll be so much easier to trim.

Oh yeah, I went ahead and took pollen from my fave Durban Poison male and dusted all of my GN Thai Stick females. I lathered my hands up in his pollen and started molesting colas on all the ladies. I left a few really nice ones on TSG alone that are going to be monster sized in a month or two if I keep them green and healthy. Ill probably get some seeds in those colas, but who gives a shit.

Next time with these Thai, 5 gallons minimum. Why didn't I listen to my own advice? They've got some really nice deep and I mean deep containers that are probably 10gallon at least at my local shopping hole Im gonna pick up and try on my next run of the Thai. Maybe it'll help alleviate nutrient demand, or maybe it'll just help the Thai grow even larger and out of control and consume more nutrients. What a vicious cycle, and so many more buds to deal with..

Your thai's stick is killing it.Crazy grow Dave.
Maximum Respect.

Great show

ph

Thanks for staying tuned in Ph-Patrol and everyone else. Its been a long ride. You're gonna see alot more Thai in the near future. The 3 month mark is upon us and its time to see how they've progressed in that time. Stay tuned!

She is a beauty

She's going to be a foxtail goddess before too long. ;) Just wait..

Congrats bro, look they will worth the time spended..

:watchplant:

Oh they definitely are worth the time. If I ever need to get something done in the garden, or need to focus on an update, all I need to do is dip into a jar of 31 week flowered/6months+ jar-cured TSA. Now thats alot of time spent waiting :)
She gets me energized and focused allowing me to get my much needed tasks done. I really should dip into the jars more often, but man I really love being lazy on my days off...

Great harvest on the Durban Poison...I can't wait to see the Thai harvest. I too am a 100% Sativa man. No Indica in my garden -- unless I want to make some nice hash.

Thanks a bunch Sandman. I appreciate it. Right now the Thai are dominating the flowering space, so very little room for Durban Poison in there atm, but Ive just slipped DP-I that I revegged back in there. I think you'll like it when I get a chance to show her off.

Its gonna be a massive harvest with most of these Thai. TSA isn't gonna rock any charts, but the other 3 ladies will provide a very very ample bounty of buds. So many cobs to make..I better dip into the jars of TSA when that day comes so I can make it through. Thats gonna be a shit load of cobs Ill be making. Too bad I can't hire any of you all out to help.

Interesting you choose to hand pollenate a wind pollenator.

Do you know of a famous plant that was formerly grown only in Mexico until it was found it could he hand pollenated? It starts with a V! Edmond Albius discovered this plant could be hand pollenated and grown away from its native Mexico. Sure glad he did I enjoy its availability

I love sativas. That Thai Stick would make some badass crosses. I've been needing some hybrids lately for back pain and I really dig the ogs they work for m pain and I like growing them they remind me of a sativa more than a indica but I like the mental and physical benifit from them...

Wonder what that big ass Thai Stick would do introduced to a OG... I think it would be quite the cross for personal consumption

They're both very nice to look at no doubt. Ill make sure to grow out lots of the seeds that are produced. Im sure there will be some nice plants showing off the best both parents have to offer.

The other night when I was pollinating TSA, I had a very nice healthy striped seed fall into my hand. Seemed odd since I hadn't pollinated this plant purposely previously. Then I recalled the Durban Poison and their intersex problems from earlier on, so the seed I have is most likely Durban Poison x Thai. My first one! Im gonna throw that in water overnight, and then bury it in some soil. Ill make sure to do some updates on it in the future so we can check it out together.

Hehe..If you've followed this thread long enough, then you already know I do some things a lil differently. I dont know how effective my method will be yet, but all the pollen on my hands ended up on the ladies, so we'll see! I didn't have the patience to try pollinating them all with a small paintbrush. I did attempt it, but alot of the pollen ended up flicking off the bristles with even a gentle brush.

I never heard of Albius until now. I did a quick google search and read up on him. I like his method. Simple and straightforward. That usually works pretty well I hear :)

I love Sativas too. I love introducing them too people too, but some people are so used to the effects of a strong indica they can't appreciate the different effects a great Sativa brings to the table. Thats if they even understand what a Sativa is...

You may try out a pure Sativa for your pain relief. Ive had lower back pain issues myself for over a decade, and I can tell you getting high on a pure Sativa can make that pain disappear. Not just for the lower back. My aching knees and sore feet feel better after enjoying some good Sativa buds. Im puffing on some Thai Stick G atm, and my aches and pains are already subsiding.

The OGx Thai cross sounds fun. You should search out some Thai beans and try and find a nice mom. You've got me thinking what Thai Hybrid Id like to make after the Thai x DP....

Maybe some Haze Hybrids x Thai..Ive got Mr. Nice Nevils Haze, SkunkHaze, Sams HazeSkunk, and Thunk all sitting in my freezer. I could even try some Thai x Mr. Nice Shit too. So many possibilities.
