Afropips Durban Poison G Harvest Update Day 111

Afropips Durban Poison G Harvest Update Day 111

Im back everyone with a harvest update on Durban Poison G. This beautiful lady went to 111 Days before I culled her. That's almost 16 weeks. There is definitely some slower finishing ones in this line.

Ive probably had her sitting in my harvest closet for the last 5-6 days. Longer than I had planned, but no harm done. Still a few white pistils down lower on the plant, but the upper buds had matured nicely and were ready to come down.

I saved the lowest set of branches to reveg the plant since I currently only have clones of two of the Durban Poison females, and G isn't one of them. This lady isn't the bulkiest, nor the fastest of them, but she threw very few nanners during flowering, which ALL of the females did this unfortunately.

The faster flowering females threw more than the slower flowering ones, with DP-M being the fastest flowering, chunkiest, but also sporting massive clusters of nanners all over her as she got further into flowering. Even the reveg plant is throwing lots of them. While the slowest flowering female, which is coming down tomorrow has thrown maybe 3-4 nanners total. If you think this plant is a deep shade of purple, the next one up is even deeper.

Ive got plenty of pics of DP-G. Its been a long time since I put up any pics. The last time you all saw her was at Day 44..2 months and 7 days later...

Harvest Time!

I like to leave every fan leaf on the plant during the dry process most of the time. I had to remove a few upper fan leaves on this plant before photos were taken though. Those fan leaves were too close to the lights and didn't do so well. Quite ugly looking and would have marred the beauty of Durban Poison-G.

Those larger fan leaves help prolong the drying period upwards of two weeks in my closet lately. The humidity is usually 63-68% during drying. If I stripped all the fan leaves off before drying, RH would drop more than Id like and quicken the process. I find the slower the dry, the more terpenes are preserved, and I completely avoid the hay-smell post drying.

She really glistens in this shot. Ive been considering getting myself a nicer camera with a macro lens for X-mas this year or shortly afterwards. Id love to take these shots to the next level with some shots of the resin heads we all want to see.

31 weeks?!?! Holy shit man, you have some real patience. I can only imagine how good it's gonna be

31, pffft. I felt like I could have done 41! Nah, j/k. Im glad its over. Id rather not hit the 7 month mark anytime soon again. I think the sweet spot for most of these Thai is 180 Days. I suppose 6 months isn't too long.

I look forward to doing all kinds of things with these thai buds in the future. Cob-curing, dry-sifting, edibles. So many possibilities.

That is (as usual) just Epic! Do a cob cure on some of that and I bet it will knock you on your ass. :tiphat:

I can't wait to see what type of effects it'll bring on. Out of the jar its a clear, clean-headed type of high. Energetic, and laser focused. It'll be interesting to see how the effects differ with a cob-cure versus jar.

I want to try it with the Durban too. Stay tuned for that.

Thats a plant that looks ready, nicely finished mate. I would be glad if mine look like that.

It takes patience and more patience. Sometimes its like watching paint dry, but with a lot more reward at the end for your investment in time.

You've got some nice plants in your album and thread yourself. I need to catch up on your thread when I get a chance. Ace genetics always perk my interest. Got myself an outdoor mix from a few years ago from them waiting for when I can clear up some room.

Afropips Durban Poison E Harvest Update Day 112/16 Weeks

Afropips Durban Poison E Harvest Update Day 112/16 Weeks

This is the latest lady to come down in my garden, but I think I may have missed an update on F. Ill have to track that down, but for now I'll focus on this lady.

She was one of the slowest one to transition into flowering, so its no surprise she is coming down last. On the plus side, just a few nanners, and the darkest shade of purple that any of my plants exhibit. Hopefully she is one of the best smokes too after almost 16 weeks of waiting.

Day 163/23 Weeks Thai Stick G Flowering Update

Day 163/23 Weeks Thai Stick G Flowering Update

This lady is getting closer to being ready everyone. Ive had her sitting in my veg tent for the last 20 days or so as I needed the space for other plants. This early pulling of plants to the veg chamber/tent has been working well so far. As long as I dont apply high doses of fertilizer after moving them in there, they continue flowering as normal and finish off quite nicely.

I think this lady has another 2 weeks in her, then its time to come down. That'd be 25.5 weeks, almost 180 days, 6 months. As you can see she has lost alot of fan leaves. Practically, all of the major ones. I want/need to harvest her before the N deficiency progresses to the buds.

As neat as it was watching TS-A go yellow on the vine, I dont think its ideal. Too many terps lost that way. This lady will come down long before that point.

Before we see what she looks like now, this was her a month ago..

Insane job man. Glad to see you hitting the sweet spot for your TS. Looks like a perfect time to chop it, I would agree :dance013:. Hope the high is even more intense.

Thanks 3rdEye. I love these ladies, but they sure as hell dont make it easy for me though. I hope I dont make it look easy, because it isn't! Its a struggle, but a worthwhile one, where Ill gladly donate half my garden or more to these beautiful slow-flowering ladies from Southeast Asia the time and resources they need to shine.

Once branches begin sagging, and snapping from all the weight of the buds, I think we've officially hit the sweet spot. Im gonna have to invest in some extra storage space for all those frosty buds very soon.

I can't wait to sample it. All Ive gotten to enjoy so far from this line is TSA that Ive harvested 2 times, and TSB, which was an early harvest. I can't wait to see how the other ladies smoke out.

that one looks great dave ,
by far the best looking id say ...
nice job man ...

Thanks bud. Im pretty proud of that lady, but she is only going to look better in the future. The clone of her looks soooo nice right now. Yellowing a little faster than Id like, but the buds are really developing nicely, and instead of drooping down, they're actually sticking up...for now at least.

Im really looking forward to sampling a different Thai. Ive enjoyed plenty of TSA, but I want to see what type of highs the other ladies can offer me. Got any insights on what I can expect in the near future?

GN Thai Stick G(Clone) Flowering Update Day 93

GN Thai Stick G(Clone) Flowering Update Day 93

I thought now would be a good time to throw up an update on the Clone of TSG. She just eclipsed the 3 month mark and is looking stellar. A little chlorotic as ppm levels have dropped below 500ppm at times. Ive struggled just to keep it above 700 ppm with this lady, with reservoir levels at 300 ppm the last 10 days. It still isn't enough to keep this one fed at optimal levels, so I upped the res to 330 ppm, and will re-evaluate soon.

I also was doing weekly hand-feedings, but that too was a pittance of what she and the others required. Im hand-feeding now every other day around 500 ppm just to try and maintain what would be considered low fertility levels. Even with all that, she's slowly becoming more pale, and leaf tip scorching is increasing.

Ive clearly got alot more dialing in to do with these thai to provide optimum fert levels for them.

Im hoping she will be ready around Day 160. Just two more months of trying to keep her healthy and maintaining those remaining fan leaves until bud development has peaked. At that point, its plain water from there on out.

She's gonna provide me lots of gorgeous tops when its all said and done. Even more than I can count myself. Anyone want to try? I was topping her like crazy during early flowering, which lasted around 40-45 days. I lost count of how many times I had to do that during that period just to keep her at a manageable height. Still a little closer to the lights than Id like, but so far so good.

Okay, enough text. No one ever reads that shit anyways.

Now some pictures of whats going on in my garden.

The first one is a 3-way shot of TSG(Clone) in the front. TSA(clone) on the back-left, and TSE(Clone) on the back-right. I had to remove TSF(Clone) for the best of the garden. Still got a clone though. Ill update on that situation later.
