Cinderella 99 The Come Back

My experience with the cut I have is that she is definitely sativa with regards to high. Growth wise she over doubles in height and branches well in bloom. Internodal spacing is somewhat stretchy, and buds tend to be medium to small spears with good density on upper colas. Everything on that plant is coated in resin. Smokewise all my friends that like sativas always ask when it will be in rotation. It's one of a select few strains I grow that I get asked about when it's no longer available. This reason is that it's awesome morning smoke that you can get stuff done on.

As a grower it's a keeper strain in all departments but yeild. She just doesnt give up weight for the area she occupies. All said and done that's the only gripe with her. All other attributes far eclipse that and so she is a long term keeper in my garden. I wish I could have grown the original, but that's never gonna happen. I do believe that she has potential as a breeding plant as well. I do enjoy some pollen chucking and hunting for my next favorite plant. I appear to be rambling. Good luck on your hunt LT! I can post my c99 crossing results here or I can leave them off. Up to you LT, as this is your thread for the hunt for the old grail c99...

that they would be "identical" to the original ...got my hopes up to the stratosphere & i snatched them up as soon as they were re-released in 2016 ...it was a $ales pitch >>> i trusted him and was extremely let down

anybody else have pics of the original F1 ??

these are pics from the original F1 C99 i bought from him all the way back in 1997 (they were a literal tropical fruit bowl of flavor & aroma , pineapple being just one , but it became the most well known...) >>>

Interesting that you purchased C99 in 97. The first seed purchase I ever made was from BG direct in 98. I recall C88 being on the menu but not C99. But it was a long time ago I may have just forgotten and I was not online or aware of BG in 97.

Several different clones of the original C99 still exist, but they are very closely guarded.

Mr. Soul found the seeds on his trip to A'dam at the Sensi Smile in 1996. I doubt Sly or Soul would have been able to complete a 3 tiered backcross within 1 year. I first remember seeing them in 1999 which is when I got mine from HS.

Not to cause a rift though as StarCrash is good people.

No offense my brother, Cannabisworld came online in 1999. RC and Sly (the other brother) were personal friends of mine. I know over time some details can become fuzzy. The new owner/admin of Overgrow is Lemonade Joe. You can verify what I'm saying by asking him directly at OG.

RC (Heavens stairway) did not carry Bros Grimm gear until 1999. Prior to that you had to buy direct from Bros. Grimm. Which involved sending cash to a PO box in Nevada. RC was in Montreal.

I met Mr. Soul at cannabis.com in 1998 when he was posting as Mr. Soul and using a sock puppet called Nehru Jacket. Uncle ben outted his sock puppet handle, which he used to spam his gear. cannabisworld and overgrow did not exist and the old laughing moon forum was on it's way out.

Like I said in the beginning no offense it's just that I like to make sure we have factual info in this thread for future researchers. My old handle at Cannabisworld was raydavies which you may or may not remember. Bohdi used an original C99 clone to create a strain he called Kinky Temple. From what I understand the C99 raydavies cut he used survived within the community for quite a few years after my departure in 2002.

A little unknown trivia. The C99 raydavies cut came from a C99 keeper that Lucas grew out and selected. That would be the Lucas of Lucas formula fame. He sent me that cut. I never had much interest in C99, was more of an Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 kinda guy. Sly sent me a 1/2 zip of Princess bud and I wasn't impressed.

No worries. I do believe some C99 could have been available late 98 or very early 99.

Either way it's not a big deal. Just a shame he didn't save the original parents.

I have a hunch that LostTribe will get what he after, just going to take a bit longer than he would probably like.

Bros Grimm had seeds available through Heavens Stairway in 1996. I'm pretty sure I first experienced it around 97.

Mr. Soul's Sensi Smile A'Dam visit occurred in 1996. Thats when he claimed to have found the seeds in the bud of Jack Herer. Impossible a 2 or 3 tier backcross for C88 or C99 was available at HS in '96. Maybe Soul and Sly had others available then but the Cinderella's most likely weren't available that early.

Valid point Lost Tribe!

I must have my dates confused. That does make more sense, they had other strains for sale starting in 96. I just listened to Soul on The Pot Cast too..duh lol

So thinking long and hard I guess it was mid 98 I first tried Cindy. I was in Florida in the beginning of 1998 and when I got back in March I was home for a few weeks before heading to Vegas for a month. In that few weeks I aquirred some Cinderella. I mailed the last of it to Vegas for my stay.

Sorry for this misinformation, it's getting hard to remember those days.

I believe an email to Mr. Soul would be the best way to resolve timeline questions.

Update,

Cindy #1 3 weeks and accidentally seeded about 50% with pollen from Archive Valley Girl MFer male. 1 day too long! This girl is the most sativa of the group with 9 bladed leafs, lots of double serrations, skinny leaves, sweet smelling and started pushing visible trichomes at 18 days.

Cindy #2 is at about a week and is a fine Female! More Indica/Hybrid leaning with mostly 5 bladed leaves. This one was topped about the 8th node and now has 5 or 6 branches with nice healthy shoots.

Cindy #3 leans closer to #1 but fatter leaves and its a stretcher for sure. Unsexed, topped at node 8, but healthy and a few 7 bladed leafs at like 6 weeks veg under t8 6500k.

Cindy #4 and #5 are the most Indica looking with much less stretch and showing only 5 bladed fatter leaves. Both topped around the 8th node.

Initial smells of #1 is sweet and fragrant vs sour or skunky. Shows promise. Still not much worth seeing at 3 weeks. Hope they start to set it off.

Blessings!

My FDM C99 are at 5 1/2 weeks flower. I figure they will be done in 7 weeks or 1 1/2 weeks from now. Tiny plants but will reveg any winners and put them in gallon pots next time to get some stash. They are in such tiny pots to fit into a small tent.

I think there is a Peak C99 in there as well.
