Hello LT, I have been following g your posts. Could you give me some input on my 4 Cinderella 99' s? Thanks, B.

Welcome,

Firstly you can edit your posts(button on bottom right of each post) so you don't have to string 4 together, please. Also I don't see any pics. You must go to "My IC" tab under your name top right and upload pics to your albums, then you can copy and paste the url links.

Where did you obtain the seeds?

LT, only thing about greenthumbs that I see is its advertised as 60 day. And the picture doesnt look like what I've seen for original C99. Hard to say what you would get, greenthumb is such a polarizing breeder.

LT, I got the seeds sent from out of the country. I am concerned about naming where as I see some get tossed off the list when they name an organization not sponsored. Am I ok to say the name of the wholesale group, as well as where they list the seeds are from?
Pics coming within the hour. Thanks for any protocol advice regarding this thread. B.

Hi bman707 - it all depends on how much height you have in your grow room, how big your lights are and how much a particular plant stretches. The last factor you may not know until you grow it out. Then, you will know how much clones of that plant may stretch, which will give you an idea of how much plant you can flower. Keep in mind also that often seed plants stretch more than their clones will. Some plants stretch as little as 25-50% the height they were at the start of 12/12. Some stretch up to three times or more from their veg height. I think most are in between - they will end up around twice their veg height.

If you are vegging the plant from seed and they have been vegging for 21 days and are big, you could switch them to 12/12 light right now - they will probably end up budding to twice their veg size.

Keep in mind also, if you are growing from seed, the plant usually will need at least six to eight weeks of veg time in addition to their flowering time for them to express their full genetic potential. That doesn't mean that you can't flower them with less veg time from seed, it just means that it may finish up slightly less than its genetic potential. But, no worries if you clone it - the next round consisting of flowering clones will be the proper age for the plant to express its true potential. You may notice slightly better taste, potency or both when the plant gets older.

It's kind of nitpicking because the difference is not great, but if you end up on the fence about whether to keep a clone of a seed plant, you may want to not pass judgment until you've grown a round of clones.

Hi Crazy Chester, Thanks so much for your reply. My 8.5ft.x5.5ft.x12ft room is presently running 2 (I have a 3rd) Sunsystems 315W CMF' s along with 5 4.5ft. Led strips.
I do nitpick for full potential, max them with temp ( re. Ed Rosenthal) along with 1350ppm co2, all I can, so I will veg these as long as they continue to grow and look good, though the largest is approaching 2 feet, I will post new pics. Perhaps another 2 weeks.
I don't know how to clone a plant but would love to get into it, these ladies look deserving. Thanks for the input, any and all is greatly appreciated. bman

2x veg size seems like a good guess for C99

This journey has been a long one. Countless tries and countless let downs I am beginning to think that possibly I have toked so much C99 over the years that maybe my own taste is off from regular use but as I am smelling different things and seeing different things my taste is probably correct.

LT

Tastes change, and the effects of pot lessen, as you get older. So you could have the same C99, but it's YOU that have changed, not the strain.

I'm going to wait a few more weeks to flip them.

Your plants look healthy, but it's hard to tell the size from those photos.

I just grew some BG C99, and began flowering at about 12-15 inches high. They stretched 3-4 times that height. I wouldn't want them to go longer.

I just grew three females of Brothers Grimm's C99. I should say at the outset that I have only slight familiarity with the original C99. Rezdog once gave me a free pack of his own brand of C99, but I could only get one seed to germ. It was female, and grew medium height and bushy, like Rezdog's Apollo 11, only was not as vigorous. It was speedy and not that potent.

The new BG line is better, imho. As I said, I got three females, which came out different phenotypes. One was tall and bushy, with side branches going every which way, that needed support. The second had similar leaf structure, same thin leaves, but a more central, concentrated cola and not so many side branches. Pheno number 2 was grown in a smaller pot, so it may actually be the same as pheno 1. Pheno 1 and 2 resemble the Rezdog plant I grew years ago.

Pheno 3 was more indica. One central column of continuous buds, broad leaves. This pheno, when curing, smelled like cat piss.

All three plants' flowers and upper leaves were covered with gooey resin, and the smoke is powerful. I can only take a sip of the thick, expansive smoke at a time from the vaporizer bag.i find the high to be strong, clear, and not as speedy as I recall the Rezdog plant being.

I don't have a discerning nose or palette, so I don't know about these tales of grapefruit and pineapple. All I can say is that number 1 and 2 are sort of fruity, and 3 has the cat piss odor, that is now starting to fade in cure. All three have a similar taste. Don't ask me to describe it, I already said I'm not good at taste or smell.
