Just finished my first run with the 315w Agro. It worked decently when in veg, I'd imagine the 942 would be a lot better though. I had a new grow area and it was my first attempt at coco growing. I messed up a lot on the feedings and even got budrot at one point due to the stupid mistake of not having my exhaust fan on during dark. Even though a lot of things went wrong, I managed to yield about 300 grams of dry bud, most of which came from two plants (in the back). The yield caught me by surprise and I can only imagine it was all due to the bulb being so good. I believe it made up for the mistakes I made.

Overall I'm impressed.

shit, some of those look as long as my leg..

nice work there.

what system can I ask? DIY?

I don't see any benefit to a hood, but, circular parabolic reflectors for each would be killer

the 3000k high CRi ( 93 ) is badass..

but what's the projected lumen per watt? also these would get very hot I think, lowering light a little, being they designed them to output more in a smaller space..

maybe someone should try 9 of these in a hood....... ( always wanted to put some of these in a hood, to reflect the light real good,

I'm tempted, but I think I might be waiting a few years before building again.. hell these CDM are enough work, DIY..

The 315w Agro barely produce any heat. The GEL ballast seems to put out more heat than the lamp for fuck sake. Lol

Have any Agro users seen a noticeable spectrum difference when running the Agro vertical verses horizontal? Other lamp spectrums seem to get much redder when run vertical in a universal system/lamp type.

Could other users confirm that pls??
What about the 942 lamp?

cheers

I feel the produce the exact same heat for the 903/942

but can't fully agree with that statement, as any bulb produces heat, even LED's produce heat, there heat is managed different as they use heatsinks, but a bulb is a bulb. if someone had a 80 F room, it's going to heat it up, it's not going to stay at 80 F

looks like fonz also had experience with the bigger lamps? making a small lamp look like child's play..

also, it's kinda up to everyone's layout and thoughts, how something get's interpreted. also some people run air cons, some oversized fans, some undersized fans, some people in cool climates, some in already hot climates, bigger rooms, small rooms...

I can tell you, as I have 2 designs, if it's in a glass hood, the heat is nil. if it's bare bulb, there is some more heat to deal with, and basically all designs for the CDM ( sun system / e papillon / cycloptics ), are open hood, unless you want hook one up into a glass hood. but i will admit the e papillon should be less heat, as it can rise out of the fixture.. see maybe if I had 10 in glass hoods in a room, it might create some heat... but with one in a tent, I think a popular design would be to go with a 2.7x2.7 tent, you don't really have any problems though. I'm running one in a 2x2, and there's really no heat with the glass hood ( 78 watts a square foot ! ), just hooked to a 180cfm 4 inch fan.

well my two cents anyways.

How many plants do you guys run under these(903/942) lights? Thanks for the treasure of info.

I think the better question is what spacing.. and I would say 2.7x2.7 seems like a good sizing to go with, growlab makes a tent exactly that size. you can do smaller, I'm seeing higher PAR numbers, but it was just something I wanted to do, as I like trying out everything!!!

plant count / style / strain / size / pot size / media / is up to you man, 1000 ways to grow a plant

SOG / SCROG / bushes / lollipop / LST / 1 plant / 30 plants.. it's all fun as long as your doing what you want to do, and having fun doing it.

after conducting a bit more research, there are multiple claims found throughout the cannabis forums calling into question the quality of your company's (DNA) products as well as it's integrity.

i have never encountered DNA or it's products other than via intraweb but there is no chance that this groer will be taking a chance when there is such an abundance of negative information available.

peace.

not growing atm but have a bit over two years indoor experience & currently planning the next setup. previously grown 1000s & 600s in horizontal hoods, air cooled then open.

future setup so far is:

two identical sealed bloom room's.
mini split ac.
co2 burner.
max fan w scrubber.
homemade organic soil in very large containers. supp. w homemade organic tea's/compost tea's.
philips cdm 315w agro lamp double stacked.
lamp/plant configuration is result of residing in a med state with plant limit's & the desire to be legal under state law.
vertical bare lamp's setup as follows: X = light's, O = plant's.

XOXOX XOXOX
OXOXO OXOXO
XOXOX XOXOX

every X represents two 315's, a lower & upper. so each plant receives a minimum of six light sources.

obviously re-lamping this setup will be costly but i want the ladies to bathe in the best artificial spectrum available which seems to be the philips cdm 315w agro.

one room will be Chimera's Schnazzleberry#2 & the other his Dolce Sativa. veg time for the Schnazz about a month & Dolce a couple weeks.

would love to hear opinions, thoughts & ideas from the community.

peace.

There is nothing defective about my DNA 860 setups. They are the best lights ive ever ran. Do you have any facts supporting your "Its garbage" claim?

Honestly, if your grow was supposed to be a representation of what they are capable of, you didn't do a very good job. Yields were under .5g/w and the plants looked like hell. Just because those lights have a high PAR rating does not mean that the light is balanced in spectrum for the plants. The newer run you didn't finish either... so what are we supposed to think? Do a full grow (that looks nice) if you want to showcase what it can do.

If you look at the folks showing the 315w, the plants look ridiculous! Your shots just don't look like that man...

well it's up to you, but I think it's ridiculous to buy many many fixtures. these are for smaller grows, or people who like spending $ on bulbs.. I would only recommend someone running two max per grow space, I can't in good wisdom have someone running that many lamps, when one could run a 1000. I could recommend if breeding to run a bunch of smaller rooms with 2 fixtures each, but I just think it's ugly running that many fixtures in one place

if your running sealed rooms, multiple 600's or 1000's. there's no reason to have that many fixtures hanging, and replace costs / start-up costs.

I will admit, the spectrum looks nice, the grows look nice.. but no way in hell would I do that many fixtures in one room. I get where your coming from, the bulbs are nice, but there wattage sucks for bigger grows, which I think make them fit to particular setups, meaning nothing a 1000 watt resides at.

another question, why two rooms? why not one big ass room?

have you ever run chimera? as if you like chimera, you'll love DJ. chimera uses DJ's males, and clones.. DJ is far ahead of chimera... my opinion. dream room, batch of cocoa kush, batch of vanilluna, you made it to heaven. I know, as I've been there.. hahaha

do what you need to do though man, your rooms, your setup, your life, your decisions, you have to live with what your doing, not us.. so ignore everything I just said and do what the fuck you want! ( that was in a motivational / positive tone.. not a sarcastic tone.. )

it is easier to control the environment in smaller rooms, that is one good thing about running smaller rooms.

i run four fixtures in a ~24 sq foot room with a well trained canopy.

it doesn't really matter what wattages or lights you run, what really matters is strain selection and canopy manipulation.
you can pull g/w from any bulb. picking a light that has a good spectrum will make it easier to reach your goal.
