There is a small plug in one end with a dip switch under it for changing from 210/315w. I haven't seen diddly shit for information on the 210w lamps, but I was pretty impressed with the performance of the plain 930 lamps if they don't make an Agro in that version.

^ thank you Sir..

well, I got some measurements, might not be what people wanted, but honestly, this is just a rough outline.. also I was going to do a 3x3 tray, but my tent is not a 3x3, and I have a 4x7, so it wouldn't be completely fair as the sidewalls do make light I noticed while testing..

these are measurements in a 2.7 x 2.7 tent. I'm no carpenter, so I tried to center the bulb best I could.. remember to keep in mind, that numbers represents 1 small spot, even a leaf turned toward the bulb would catch more light ( you would see if you could hold and play with the meter.. so I wouldn't call the edges exactly what the edges are getting, I can't say that full.. but the number tells us a lot though too.. for the number representing the front of the tent, I just closed the flaps and peeked in to get the number ( so everyone knows, the number might be a tad off, or not what it would be if the tent is fully closed... )

15 inches:

383 / 765 / 389
691 / 1314 / 535
442 / 832 / 430

18 inches:

547 / 890 / 443
944 / 1135 / 635
522 / 843 / 493

21 inches:

573 / 852 / 495
788 / 1032 / 745
442 / 823 / 430

23 inches:

606 / 796 / 501
823 / 967 / 745
559 / 745 / 563

26 inches:

660 / 725 / 544
775 / 863 / 742
565 / 705 / 565

29 inches:

600 / 652 / 553
644 / 777 / 680
595 / 635 / 590

let me know what you guys think.. honestly I was surprised by the higher heights.. as light decreases farther away, so I thought the numbers were very good at those distances....

people think the inverse square law means that the further away the light is, the less light there is, but that's not exactly how it
works. it dissipates outwardly, but if it is being reflected back at 98% efficiency, there isn't much loss as it comes across and adds
more energy to what is direct beam. the only light that is actually being lost is to heat, the rest just exists over a larger footprint.

if you add the totals, they come out to-

15 inches
5781

18 inches
6452

21 inches
6180

23 inches
6213

26 inches
6144

29 inches
5726

I would go with 23 inches personally. Couple hundred less PAR, but much more even spread.

Oh holy criminy…. That was one heck of a read…. 355pgs in 2 days!

And I am still lost……. And cross-eyed now.

OK… For arguments sake let’s use:
315w sun systems $500ea
400w CMH system $250 then stock up on now discontinued bulbs….
600w MH/HPS system $250

Scenario:
7x8x8 room
42” x 84’” SCROG table
8 plant Waterfarm system
1200w limit for lighting electricity

What do you suggest?
A: 2x 315w sunsystem
B: 2x 400w CMH
C: 3x400w CMH and double the electricity
D: 2x600w MH/HPS and double the electricity
E: I bet somebody will not like ANY of the above…. And 4x 315w is way out of my budget!

Thank you so much!

out of the options you have listed, 3x400 CMH sounds best to me. more points of light and probably the most PAR.

since you are looking to run hydro, you need to take water temps into account. without doing that, you are looking
at a quick case of root rot.

That is absolutely correct!

I do appreciate all the great advice in this thread…..

I have been following another thread for quite a while on Waterfarm modifications.

#1. With a large room (8x7x8), I believe temps will be less of a problem than a tent.

#2. If I go with triple 400w CMH, I will get vented hoods “just in case”….

#3. I will be modifying the entire system with a recirculating line and plan to add a water chiller if necessary.

I am growing outside now and dealing with Bud Rot..... AARRUUGH!

I give you that advice on temps because I am currently having the same issue. 14x10 basement room with three tents, each
has about 35 cu ft of air space. Each running a 180 cu ft extraction fan. Two of the tents have 400s, the other is a veg tent running
250. My daytime temps can up to 88, and that is in a basement room with an AC vent also. Definitely go with vented hoods, and
exhaust the heat into another room. You can save on heating costs in the winter if you exhaust into your living space.

You can also drop frozen bottles of water into your res to help with res temps.

so callled philips lighting & they said the CMH HPS-Retro White lamp's are discontinued.

is the CDM Elite MW 315w lamp now the most similar in terms of spectrum & UV output?

also, what is the spectrum/UV output comparison of the retro white's to philips' CDM AllStart 860w.

looking for a lamp with best avail spectrum wheter it be 315w, 400w, 600w, or 1000w.

hoping simba views this post & can shed a bit of light!

peace cac.

^ best spectrum should be the philips CDM 315 watt elite agro bulb

Just finished my first run with the 315w Agro. It worked decently when in veg, I'd imagine the 942 would be a lot better though. I had a new grow area and it was my first attempt at coco growing. I messed up a lot on the feedings and even got budrot at one point due to the stupid mistake of not having my exhaust fan on during dark. Even though a lot of things went wrong, I managed to yield about 300 grams of dry bud, most of which came from two plants (in the back). The yield caught me by surprise and I can only imagine it was all due to the bulb being so good. I believe it made up for the mistakes I made.

Overall I'm impressed.

someone know an european seller for a complete 210 cmh?

from what I gather, in Europe, E papillon sells the system.. ( link to the system ) not sure on the 210 bulb, and you would need to get to the ballast to switch for 210, but I would start there, unless anyone knows another company..

that or you can start building it from scratch together.

the rep is saying there is no selector switch for 210 watt... I don't have enough info to know, but I believe all the ballasts can be dimmed, and if I'm correct making the 315, 153.5 watts?

the 3000k high CRi ( 93 ) is badass..

but what's the projected lumen per watt? also these would get very hot I think, lowering light a little, being they designed them to output more in a smaller space..

maybe someone should try 9 of these in a hood....... ( always wanted to put some of these in a hood, to reflect the light real good,

I'm tempted, but I think I might be waiting a few years before building again.. hell these CDM are enough work, DIY..
