Canadian Gorilla vs. Mother Nature

Looking good, my friend! Sorry to hear about your dry weather, we are getting very heavy rain today here. Hoping my plots dont flood to be honest. :)

I'd say just put those plants in the ground. Yield potential is decreased each day they aren't able to spread their roots.

I've grown the durban poison. You will enjoy it for sure. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for stopping in. I will transplant remaining plants on next visit. Just trying to keep males separate so they will not pollinate everything.

looking good brother. what a difference in the one that got topped bringing out the lower branches. keep us posted very interested in this one

Hello flboy. Topped a few more on last visit. Bangi hazes are suffering because I'm waiting to sex them and they are slow to show. I'm really liking Tikal, seems to grow in spite of the stress I'm putting them all though.

The plants look sturdy, as well as well hidden.

Any helicopter flyovers up there?

Hi ShakiraLoba, I don't think they fly looking for it around here. Only an Idiot would try and grow here. I could be wrong tho.

You can see the size difference from late transplant. Nothing to do with strain. All late transplants are a lot smaller even tho same age as rest.

Except for Tikal I expect the Bangi Haze to flower last. So they will have time to catch up in size. As you can see from pics the plants do not have much insect damage ( still no spays at all) Most plants appear healthy. Only one plant appears to have serious nutrient disorders. I will take a pic of it next time if I remember.

Hope everyone is having a great season.

The bigger plants are reaching about 4 ft in height. I was shocked to see how much difference that putting them in the ground sooner makes. As you know I wasn't ready this season and most sat in temporary pots till I could prep and dig holes. All the biggest plants have been in their final homes the longest. The Bangi Haze are about half the height of the largest ones because I have been waiting for them to sex before putting them in the final spots. (which they still haven't done). More pics tomorrow.

in ground growing makes a huge difference compared to containers imo. i started all my seeds at the same time this year and the first wave that i set out was alot bigger by time i put the 3rd round out of the same strains. i know my opinion is only acendoctal but thats all i need! we been getting lots of rain here lately so hopefully the drought will end for u. everthing looks really healthy though brother! looking forward to seeing some flowers on those bitches

Proof is in the ground. I expected some difference between the early in the grounds and the pots, but the growth difference is way more than I would have thought. I brought my plants outside around May 25. Next yr. I will put the new crosses I make straight in the ground by the 15 of May. I expect them to be about a foot or so taller than this years plants. That will make a huge difference on yield with a minor adjustment.
Thanks for dropping in Ky

Forgot to ask you if you can share some info about the DP. Did you do it outdoors? What latitude ? About what did you yield per plant?
whose Durban did you grow?
Thanks
GG

P.S. Anyone else grow any of these strains outdoors?
I was hoping for more real life experience with these strains.
Don't be shy guys and girls. Most of these strains have been around along time so please share your outdoor experience with them.

Good or bad.

Howdy gg, enjoying your thread.
I too am from a place where the winter is long and growing season is short, so I am intrigued with the results you are coming upon.
Sending good luck and vibes your way as I take seat and enjoy the show.

I've grown the DP Durban a fair bit, very exotic and unique plant. Sharp, clear and a little racy is the high. Let it go as late as you can. Should be totally done before first week of October.

Very unique smells on her and she likes to stretch.

hey gg!
i did dp's durban at 50 lat north,
id was done from sept25 to oct 5
the buzz was trippy with a bit of heart racyness
in it. i think the best part was the licorice aroma,
as was said, is very unique and nice. i think you'll enjoy it , good harvest!

Thank you browntrout and fisher. This is the exact kind of info I was looking for. I think I may have a few strains that have that racy sort of high. To tell you the truth depending on how racy, I don't really like that sort of high. I'm looking for a energetic high that is clear and happy. I guess that the energy may also come with racy. As long as there is no paranoia it may work. Thanks again

Thx for stopping in hicksticky. I took a look at your thread looks like some interesting projects you have going on. Are you going to do a thread for your outdoor? I would love to watch a fellow northern grower in action.
Cheers GG

Nice grow, I grew Durban Poison x U.K. Cheese outdoors for 2 seasons and was very happy with it. Plants were 6' tall and very bushy. Keep up the good work. :)

Thanks gg, ya I might branch out and do another thread once I pull everything together as far as pics and info. goes.
I have several different methods going atm..... all gorilla lol.
I like the idea of going out with just amendments and the like, just treating the local soil. Save me a lot of sweat and blood not trekking out in the bush with loads of soil.
I will swing by and drop a link as soon as I get a outdoor thread going:tiphat:

Hi hicksticky, I believe most native soils can be made to be decent soil, if they are not already. Every guerrilla spot is different, but usually everything is in the area and just needs to be mixed and amended. The top 6 Inches in any forest is great compost full of microbe life.
Due to late prep I didn't mix in forest compost like I would have liked. And most plants were planted in very sandy soil. But a few pinches of this and a handful of that and they are doing good so far.
cheers GG

I guess it was early durban I grew back in 2008. Didn't have much of it. I tried looking it up in my thread and couldn't find any info.

Thanks for sharing mate. I'm not far away from taking some plants out bush also for a guerrilla grow. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Thanks for stopping in everyone as well as the kind words.
The drought is finally going to end. The next week calls for rain off and on. Will probably get more rain in the next week than all of June. The rain can not come soon enough. Western Canada is on fire. The smoke from all the forest fires is very thick outside right now, and even burns the eyes a bit. It will be nice to get enough rain to actually soak the ground and build up the ground water. The plants should love it and respond accordingly.
Hope everyone is having a great season.
