I have faild this attempt

I am smoking.
I smoke about 1/2 a pack.
I cut back, I have NOT given up.
But I was too egar. I did manage 2 days.
On day three my GF came over and well.

So I back slid.
I have no good bud to smoke now.
I have to reevaluate, i have 6 to 7 weeks before I can even hope for budage.
I have a 6 to 7 week window to work with.

Im going to change brands to Menthol soon. I hate menthol.
Then put on the PATCH this time.
The Huffer is good, but need something more consistent.

I not giving up, just have to push my 3 months back a month.

I see you over there John...

I see you over there John...

I like you John. I see you in a pic with 2 short bushes in 5 gallon buckets with you standing between them. I hear you John and I know the feeling of heavy addiction to tobacco.

That lady cares about you to John and she wants to see you quit the vile weed called tobacco. Smoke all the weed you want and by all means everyone should have pot when they quit. The patches are fine help and I recommend them. No matter how addicted you are you can quit John. I know this because I see something in your pic John that most people can't see. I see your purple aura. :) That's why you have a green thumb!! You special like me man...others have seen mine glow bright purple.

We are just the type of addictive personalities that must have a focus. Since cannabis is safest for us to use it is the most reasonable solution. We will all need something but good Sour Bubble actually takes away the smoking urge because it satisfys all cravings. :) BOG

I have had a problem with smoking cigs for a while. I still smoke about a pack a day. This will stop soon within the week.I should have stoped when my fiance's father had a heart attack about 8 months ago. It was due to smoking cigs as he smoked 1-2 packs a day as well as the pot he smokes. when i talked to him he said it was the worst feeling he has ever had and it felt like there was a 500 pound weight on his chest. He is still recovering now hopefully he will be back to work within a couple months he just needs to let it heal because he cant carry the weight that goes with his job. I will buy patches within 2 days because i am convinced i dont need them anymore. Well Bog you have inspired me to say this but hopefully i will be pm you in 3 1/2 months not for seed but just to thank you for helping me quit. This is a great thread as i see the members of icmag show a lot of help and encouragement to help people quit smoking cigs. As i have enough pot to smoke just getting to them nice Lsd #1 jars. PERFECT TIMING Peace Homegrown

I get the patches i was wondering which step you get. I smoke a little over a pack a day. I was considering starting on the step two because its less nicotine and will probably be easier for me to get off in the long run.

I quit smoking on June 1st. I'm 16 days clean today. I don't think I'll ever smoke another ciggarette again. Every time I get a craving I think about the uselessness of fulfilling it. Smoke one to fill that craving, just so I will HAVE to smoke another to fill the next, and so on.... Well I've had enough of that killing cycle.

My quitting is a direct result of this thread, as it suprised me so much that someone that doesn't even know me cared that much, and my parent's gentle guiding hand.

Every person in my immediate family is or was smokers at some point. My grandpa almost died from smoking, and is missing organs due to the cancer he recieved from smoking. I guess something had to open my eyes at some point before I could quit smoking... For what ever reason this thread happened to be it.

I hope that others get to experience what I have. It's almost like starting my lungs over. I can go up a flight of stairs without hacking. I don't wake up in the mornings fiending for a smoke. And it's bound to only get better from there. The sooner all you people quit, the better for you.

I didn't use patches. I didn't do anything like that. I left my home on a trip and quit cold turkey while I was on it. I found that a change of scenery inhibited cravings.. My mind couldn't associate the things it saw and did with smoking. This worked very well for me. I also ended up in a place where about 75% of the people smoke everywhere. This helped. As it becamed longer from my last smoke, the smell of it around me became more vile. Now I can smell people in cars driving down the road next to me smoking. There's just that smell. That smell of death.

Dont make the same mistake as me

Our Power

Our Power

We as lone people are small and weak but when in a large group humans become a pack of wolves with weapons ready to defend our young. Aliens fear humans for their bravery. You don't know how valuable we really are as a race. Funny how susceptible we are to internal threats that the pack is slow to see.

For centuries humans have formed communities to survive. Any invader was always dealt with in a quick and efficient manner until a more powerful enemy came along. We were fine with community until corporate fascism stole our freedom.

The freedom we seek is still available but everyday you will be assaulted by the forces that seek to addict and kill you and your family for profit. Recognize the true enemies that are subisdized by your evil and corrupt gov'ts. Know that this world is deluded beyond belief. Materialism seems to have reached the stage where everyone is supposed to become nazi.

Humans should defend their young as hard as any wolf pack but what about the old lone wolf? Who is going to save him after all the enemies he vanquished to protect the pack? Who will help him as he draws his last breath under that 500 lb weight on his chest? Nobody.

You must stand above the delusions and rationalizations and decide today that as Caveman say, "Smoking Bad!!! Fire Bad!!!"

Even a caveman can see the stupidity of inhaling smoke so perhaps we better all get our vaporizers going too. Your health is a gift so dont throw it away. Exercise...drink some pure water...dont smoke tobacco...Worship the Sun! :) BOG

Keep up the good work. It had taken me a full year to quit smoking tobacco and now my body and mind thank me. The way I did it was to smoke menthols until I got sick of it. GOOD LUCK!

I hate to hear all that you went through, and so glad you are ok and cigarette-smoke free!

I smoked from age 13 to 26, and I never even thought about quitting until my fiancee said he wanted to quit. I love him so much, and I knew that quitting cigarettes meant a great deal to him. He had quit before, and wanted to quit for good. I knew it was bad for me, but I always thought, 'what the hell? I'm gonna die anyway, right?' Well, I wanted to support him, so I decided to quit with him.

It was a success! We have both been cigarette-free since October of 2002. We quit cold turkey, and were both irritable as hell for 3 days. I used the patch once, on the 5th day when I was up all night writing a philosophy paper for school. We both gained some weight, but are much happier. I never knew how bad cigarette smoke smelled until I quit! I grew up with a father and three siblings who smoked, so I think I was just used to it. I can breathe so much better now - I don't get winded when I go for a walk! Food tastes better - I use a lot less salt now. I feel healthier, and I don't seem to catch head colds nearly has often. There are countless ways that quitting smoking has improved my life!

Deciding to quit . . . making a REAL commitment was the only real hard part.

Thank you BOG for sharing your story and starting this thread! I hope that it helps every ICMAG member to become tobacco-free!

Good luck to all!
Peace

You can do it Farmer John!

You can do it Farmer John!

You can do it, and weed can help! We did start smoking pot a lot more heavily when we gave up tobacco, and I forgot to mention that . . . I'm not sure that we would have made it through without miss mary jane. She's been so good to us! Don't know how I forgot to thank her or send my encouragement to you in my last post . . . I guess I talked to miss m.j. a little too much this mornin

Ive been smoking a pack and a half a day for over 10 years, ive quit for up to a month before, using the gum, or patch. I actually started smoking more after each quit attempt, i think i was using too big of a size of patch, or gum.

Im still young, 25, but the last year or two, my fitness/health has really gone downhill. I used to be fit, now im out of breath freqeuntly, have trouble sleeping regular hours etc.

Id love to quit smoking, but my wife is seriously boneheaded. She refuses to quit , shes very single minded when she wants to be . I honestly want to quit, but i dont see it as possible if she doesnt. The only other thing shes adament about besides cigs, is weed. Ive even threatened to take her weed away to get her to quit lol. that didnt work though.

My question is, how can you convince a spouse to quit when they just dont wanna listen?

Also, how many people think they could quit, even if their wife or husband didnt and smoked around them? Seems like a nitemare to me, some of the most stressfull times i ever endured were when i quit and she didnt.

Hopefully after we get our first harvest, and she gets to smoke top quality weed anytime she wants, itll be easier to convince her .

Great thread BOG, i've been hooked on the cigs for about 2 years. And slowly i can feel my healthy body detriorate. I been hacking up the most horrid looking things, yet im still smoking a half pack a day. And just the
feel of cold wind gets me hacking like an oldtimer (of offence).
Im to the point where im not noticing my nicotine intake, like just a second thought in the back of my head. To tell you the truth after writing this post i will be outside liting up a cig.
I have tried many times, once even going a full week without smoking a cig. My substitutes are of course pot, and drum rolling tobaccoo (which is prob worse then a pack of cigs (maybe not?). But thats where im at right now, my dad wants me to quit before i end up like my grandpa (passed away from cancer). I will try to cut my habbit down to 3 cigs a day, i need my morning cig.. and night cigs after a bowl. BUT I NEED OFF THIS SHIT!

quitting for good

hiya BOG, and hello ever1 else too. well, im having another go at it, my female friend is also quitting, so we r eachothers support, i am doing the patch this time, because u can get them 4 free in the uk. i start tomorrow(friday the 2nd of july 2004), on the 21mg patch (Niquitin CQ clear patches step 1) and all the money i save is going in the " vapourizer fund" so i can get a vapi( coz its a little cheaper than volcano, and more slimline, easier to put away out of site) my ezperience with the home-made vapourizer from og, has been not v good, but my 2nd attempt at things is always better so ill do another b4 i judge. anyway, just droppin by to say that i am going 4 it, so wish me luck, and cya soon,
