from NORMLs web site- in 2014, California had 19,711 cannabis arrests; over 13,000 for felonies, and 6411 misdemeanors. that dropped to 8866 felonies in 2015, no number given for misd. cannabis offenses. misdemeanor arrests for ALL drugs (no breakdown given) went UP from over 92,000 to over 163,000 in 2015. but if you want to think that NONE of those people went to jail, feel free. there is lots of sand down at the beach to bury your head in...:tiphat:

It makes perfect sense to me for non california people to be for prop64. you've got a shitty deal going....I understand that.... what did we do when we had a shitty deal? We went deeper in the woods with our middle finger in the air and grew more fucking weed....when it came time to go to the polls in force, we did it... prop215...moral of the story , get out there and grow more weed. Nobody's going to hand you true legalization without a fight. Plan on 64 failing and the true fight for legalization that follows

We did the same on the east coast I have not seen Mexican bricks in years and I have not sure vacuum sealed mids from California in about 2 years in New England. It's all grown right here in New England some of the best weed in the world.

But CA is going to get the shit deal because there is a lot of money right here Boston ain't no joke give them the head start they going to run with it more people on the East coast and more money. Capitalism is coming with or without CA Boston is where it's at from the first city to the Tea Party to legalization and capitalization of cannabis. Just a matter of time until the best weed and hash comes from the east side.

But good luck even though y'all don't even have enough water to grow for the nation and your electricity is outrageous you would be be better off with a greenhouse in Maine plenty water cheap power and cheap land. Also not the desert mountains and trees everywhere and snow lots of snow I feel bad for the west coast really. Oh and did I mention some amazing maple syrup.

According to the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, not a single individual among the roughly 112,000 now in state prison is serving time for marijuana possession."

all you "yes on 64" folks need to stop with the scare tactics.. nobody is going to jail for weed in california now. prop 64 will put MORE people in jail for weed, not less. it will also create lots of new cops.

Almost makes you wonder just where the millions of dollars from the prohibitionists has gone. I believe propaganda what else do politicians do to sway votes? Paid trolls too they do do that as well.

But a lot of money has gone out against legalization.

Also I remember one question I didn't answer something like when has bad legislation been changed? Well I believe CA medical marijuana started for only cancer, MS, etc. But now any fool can get a card, same way VT started but now you can get it for pain and they are going to legalize in 2018 without a vote the first state in the nation to do so. I guess you can wait and get if a miracle happens and you get a better deal in 2018 but it took a lot longer than 2 years for y'all to get legalization back on the ballot and CO is now the new weed haven in America which will surely change once MA opens for business as people will come from all over the East coast and turn Boston into Amsterdam in that time we just got that big of a population so close.

This is what I hear... the east coast is better, the east coast is better, pretty soon the east will grow good weed, soon.... sometime soon,we'll grow good weed. Maple syrup..... Glad you guys haven't smoked brick in a few years. You want over regulated cannabis that has nothing to do with legalization? If 64 passes it's right around the corner. Be careful what you wish for....

Well, he is a Californian krunch, and hopefully he can still cast his vote on prop 64, even though he is still banged up.

bombadil since you and others have singled me out to quote let me remind everyone, I have never once said how I was voting. I did not start this thread...

Hello Doobie,

I was not singling you out, but simply replying to you directly as you asked me a question directly.

I understand your point, but auma as a bill, is not responsible for the tactics the prohibitionists are using now to place bans in effect before auma passes, on the contrary, that tells you how much they fear the bill. They can't ban growing completely under auma anyway, so long as it is indoors they can dislike your grow all they want but can't touch you.

There are many other points worth making from the quoted sections you posted, points that melt away when understood within context...like the inspection section, which only applies to commercial ops, under lawful inspection protocols, with the aim to see if there is tax evasion going on etc...

500,000 people arrested for pot in ca. last decade, a pot arrest every 45 seconds in U.S. in 2015 , in 2015, 9000 felony pot arrests in ca. 2015

so did they do time?

also am i incorrect in stating that under prop 64 one could still conceivably get a felony for weed

^^ They did time dealing with the legal system, yeah. And spent money. I do not sell so unlike you I do not have money and legal defense in place to deal the hassle. They run you thru the system and that is a win for them, they get paid. With the 64 they get paid without busting you.

I would not have a chance to get a felony under 64 no way. I will have better freedom than now. So I voted yes.

You 215 semi legal grower/sellers are not some kind of freedom warriors. You have not advanced the cause just made money for yourself, exploiting a law which voters never intended to allow for profit growing, while avoiding real jail time. Not against you just stating you played the system for 20 years and now it comes to an end, at least for being so uncontrolled.

After a couple years of legal Recreational and a few months of medical pushed back underground in Washington state some interesting things are happening.
The taxes are so high on the recreational the growers can't afford to grow top shelf. Part of it, the people with the money to buy the license and pay the taxes have no idea what they're doing. Maybe ran one light back in college before they made $$ in the tech market. They don't have experience.
It's not practical to fill a warehouse with lights at 38% tax. So there's tons of mediocre hydroponic, the type that burns into a big chunk of carbon in your bowl. No fun unless you're a rube, and there's a lot of them. Turned a lot of people into Dab junkies, that's 'high end' in the rec market.
No more choice meds means the price has gone up. The Rec markets have prices fixed by the government it's pricey compared to what the med shops charged. So the black market is growing now the prices are rising. Now that they're competitors with the state we'll see how many end up in prison.
Putting the Liquor Control Board in charge of medical and rec cannabis was a bad idea. Are they doing the same in Cali? Buying medicine is like buying liquor, can't open the jar and smell it. Have to assume that what you're buying is what it's labeled as, and that it's dank. Sad to get home, open the jar, and find your amazing 25% THC Name Your Strain smells like hydroponic algae. The new plan is to register all medical grows at the capital so they can be monitored by Liquor control people. All clones and seeds must be registered and purchased from legal sources, the 502 monopoly people. Who grow rec, not medical.
Hope California doesn't make the mistakes Washington did. Remember what the economy was like in the Emerald Triangle in the 50s and 60s? Be funny if the wine boys down south bought all the Rec licenses.
But if that happens and they grow tons of crappy commercial it may drive the prices up again. So the med people that are driven underground should have the opportunity to make $$ if they're willing to risk going to jail. Don't see that changing ever.

We do grow great weed just as good if not better than California. I also grow plenty weed enough to do a good 7 years probably more. So I welcome the deal because they can't and won't stop me either way I was selling hard drugs at 15 years old I have a lot of friends and the only enemies fear me. Uncle Sam can suck my dick I ain't scared of shit. I know what I'm wishing for do you? I would have robbed you at gun point just for selling weed back in the day. I have chilled out a bit but I still own guns and I'm not a felon so I can carry guns legally. I also own land and have a house and can make as much money as I want.

It's a chance to no longer be an outlaw I'm looking to come out of this bitch like Joe Kennedy.
