greenhouses are big attention magnets right now. shit even our property that had zero visible plants, zero visible greenhouse, just a basic metal shop building was checked. we do know of a guy who has multiple greenhouses who was flown 3 different times by chopper, had CE at his gate, and didn't have a check executed on him. could just be good luck.

i wouldn't invest anything in butte county, steer clear of this county as much as you can! you can check out yuba or neveda county which are close and are much better.

also sutter, sierra, plumas, lassen, are close by and all are affordable and have good plant limits. all the new growers are moving to calaveras but I'm pretty confident they will see increased enforcement down the line because thats what happens when a county gets blown out by thousands of black market grows.

Thanks Tank,
Keeping all paperwork in view, folder and sign on gate, and holding on. Thought about throwing up a greenhouse to keep out of view, but sounds like its just a run and gun from code guys anyway, hitting all the gates they can with notices.
Anyone had success with greenhouse and laying low?

Plenty of friends had gates left open, posts tore down, really frustrating.

Build a real greenhouse and they won't bother you. My neighbor has 32 going in his with no issues. If you put up cheap plastic hoop houses they will be on you like a fly on shit.

Check water availability, plant limits aside, with out water plants limits don't really matter. calaveras wells are going dry halfway through the season, as are many other places. Is hit or miss with water. Every well is different. The further north the better the water. Water is the new gold.

Permit for greenhouse

Permit for greenhouse

It may just give CE another reason to inspect your property if you don't have the required building permit for your greenhouse. Just a little something to consider.

hoops and carports are one thing they hate and are easy code violations for them..however even engineered GHs attract attention. two different neighbors had a gable conleys style and still got checked, but at least they didnt get red tagged. my engineered cold frames didn't get red tagged either but they still checked them. one of their probable causes for inspection warrants for GH has apparently been "they are too big"…but i guess even charnel is saying that they dont need real probable cause for inspection warrants.

one thing interesting from the county, when i sent my permit guy in they said they didn't need engineer plans for my cold frames, however they said that because I'm in a fire zone, the plastic needs to be "fire proof rated". what the fuck lol…

also the main building permit lady has been conveniently going on vacation for weeks on end so we havent been able to have our sit down with the county on my shop permits yet.

I know for a fact that engineered greenhouses have been targeted. If you have a greenhouse plastic or metal you most likely will be visited be Code Enforcement. Lots of people still have not gotten F*cked with yet but that doesn't mean it isn't coming. At first they were going to Cherokee and East Oroville. Now it seems that they are in Cohasset, Gridley and Berry Creek. Copters have been flying Cohasset and magalia hard lately so it seems the strategy is saturation patrols from neighborhood to neighborhood. Most people in Cherokee are lawyered up at this point and seems as if Code Enforcement has moved on from that area. There are still some checks but not like it was early on in the year. It also seems like they are only doing inspections primarily on Tuesday and Wednesday. Far different from the beginning of the year when they were checking mon-friday 5-15 properties a day. Good sign that they are running low on cash

what a great county we live in, where people are now calling 911 on people filling up water tanks.

RP RPTING A DOUBLE CAB WHT P/U POSS A FORD UNK PLATE IS CURRENTLY AT THIS LOCATION W/ A LARGE WHITE PLASTIC TANK IS AT THIS LOCATION, RP THINKS THEY ARE FILLING UP THE TANK TO GO WATER ANOTHER MARIJUANA GROW, RP CAN BE CONTACTED BY SEU IF NEEDED,
EVENT EMAILED TO CODE ENFORCEMENT AND S12

so 7/28 they invaded cohasset heavy, 8 checks all over east of chico.

7/29 several checks south of feather falls casino in the flatlands, oroville/palermo
2 checks off hurleton swedes and another at forbestown/lumpkin, with another unlisted 1.5 hrs later as "location 18".

How do they know what the water is being used for?

How do they know what the water is being used for?

How do they know that water wasn't going to be used to water livestock or tomatoes? Yes, our county does have some uptight citizens who have nothing better to do than to rat out their neighbors.

We have a guy in our neighborhood who spends his days patrolling the roads (both he and his wife) looking for violators and I'm sure filing anonymous complaints with code enforcement. This guy is simply bored with his life and jealous of people who have the chutzpah to do what he will not or can not.

Get a burner, find his address, call 911 report a domestic abuse incident and a man threatening a woman with a gun. Swat his ass and see how he likes it.

i fucking hate héroes, bunch of snitchass little suckups to the law. sounds like you live near chris and shari simmers lol…the cattle farming power couple behind BSANE who are two of buttes most vocal measure A supporters. (he's the plutonium comparison guy from Butte County Reefer madness)

a lady just wrote a letter to the ER compelling locals to join her in snitching on as many grows as possible to "save water". she probably should have used a fake name….but hope she enjoys surprise visits by code enforcement.

Check out what someone just posted on the ypc FB page...

ENFORCEMENT OF CITY / COUNTY CODES PROHIBITED

California Law prohibits Cities and Counties from enforcing it or Coundy Codes and Ordinances upon property that is not OWNED by the City or County, even if the property is within City Limits.*
California Penal Codes; Chapter 5b CITATIONS FOR VIOLATIONS OF COUNTY, CITY, OR CITY AND COUNTY ORDINANCES Sections 853.1 through 953.4 was repealed in 1967 .*
The Supreme Court ruled that Municipalities cannot exert any acts of ownership and control over property that is not OWNED by them, see Pallazollo vs Rhode Island 553 US 606, 150 L.Ed. 2d 592, 121 S. Ct. _____ (2001) (no expiration date on taking clause for City's Illegal enforcement of its Codes on the man's private property and restricting the man's business, affirming both Lucas v South Carolina Coastal Council, 505 US 1003 120 L.Ed 2d 798 (1992),(butterfly activists and Code Enforcement cannot restrict development of the man's private swampland unless they lawfully acquire the land FIRST, surveying with binoculars constitutes a "takings"), and Monterey v Del Monte Dunes, 526 US 687 (1999), 143 L.Ed. 2d 882 S.Ct. _____(1998).*
In the Monterey case, the California private property owner was awarded $8 million for Code Enforcement's illegal trespass and restriction of his business, and another $1.45 million for the aggravation of a forced sale.*
Federal Law also prohibits Cities and Counties from issuing citations against businesses, see Title 18 U.S.C. 891-896, quoting Section 891 " An extortionate means is any means which involves the use, or an express or implicit threat of us, of violence or other criminal means to cause harm to the person, reputation, or property. "*
Black's Law Dictionary, 5th Edition (page 1140): Recaption. At Common Law, a retaking or taking back. A species of remedy by the mere act of the party injured (otherwise termed "reprisal") which happens when anyone has deprived another of his property in goods or chattels personal, or wrongfully detains one's wife, child or servant. In this case, the owner of the goods, and the husband, parent or master may lawfully claim and retake them, wherever he happens to find them, so it be not in a riotous manner, or attended with a breach of peace.

I already requested charnel looks at this. Maybe yall can get Scott to take a look too. Idk if this is valid or not to date...?

The blacks law dictionary part at the end is hilarious!!! Omg that's old as fuck!

I know people who had that posted on there gate and ce still went through. Scot isn't our lawyer anymore and only three people who are completely uninvolved in the movement now had access to him anyway. We already showed her and she said that it would be used if the county ever moved to seize a property

And for the record idk much about canna law really. I just know how to read, listen, and think.

Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion

Ha! Tankerton I don’t even know what a “burner” is but thanks for the suggestion.

Yes4Prop215 I live near a different couple of idiots than you are referring to. I read the ER letter that woman wrote. It amazes me that the anti-mmj crowd has all of the sudden turned into environmentalists. These are likely the same people who support fracking whole-heartedly.

On 7/29 the ER included an article about The Worm Farm in Durham appearing on a TV show called “Blue Collar Millionaire” which is a series on CNBC that focuses on people that make lots of money getting their hands dirty. You know what the good folks at The Worm Farm attribute their success to? That’s right… mmj farms, quote from the article “Proposition 215 passed a few years later in California, which opened up a whole new world for soil amendments for use in home marijuana cultivation.” Article link http://www.chicoer.com/general-news...llionaires?source=topstoriesrot#disqus_thread

Just another example of mmj creating business and jobs in Butte County which is something the county can’t seem to do on their own.

yea i saw that chicoER article, sad that worm farm didn't want to add anything political for the article relating to measure A. earlier this year worm farm was in the news complaining about lost revenues and wanting to leave butte county, now all of a sudden they are expecting more revenue? well shit donate some of that back to the county fight and lets get measure A repealed!

also there is another worm farmer in this area who is interested in donating to the cause but doesn't know where to look! everyone is too busy dealing with their gardens and surviving this madness to really organize, sad because last year before measure A passed, with the 100k of donations for measure B i really felt like we had a good movement going. now it feels like the bible thumpers have come out of the wood work and have taken back the county.

and these god damn hypcrocites singling out MJ cultivation for water issues, FUCK THEM. we need to educate these damn idiots. beef, rice, almonds all take massive amounts of water to grow than MJ, we need to make sure everyone in this county knows who the real water abusers are!

heres some cool news out of shasta, eric berg is suing shasta county on behalf of a medical coop that supplies veterans and retired military, and mentions constitutional violations by code enforcement for destroying plants. i talked to berg earlier this year about measure A, he's a pricy pricy lawyer though. but might be good to relay this to charnel and see if they can link up. maybe il put the new worm farmer up with berg and they can do something similar for butte?

Who cares his price if shasta folk already hired him..it's good you know who he is and what he's doing because he'll be needed as the shasta anchor for the federal appeals case.

Lol innyuba we got a guy going around hanging fake notices to abate on people's gates! Lmfao we got some devoted haters.

Yeah the drought thing is funny. All the people who are crying about mmj and the drought probably have lush green lawns at their houses. Maybe someone could go take pics of all their yards and show their complete bullshit.

lawns aren't the problem either...prop pretty much nailed it with cows and almonds. it takes around 2500 gallons to produce every 1 ONE! pound of beef...I'd rather keep my lawn green and cut beef out of my diet personally...if I was a farmer I'd certainly blame as much of our water crisis on lawns as possible as well. I can't even protect my investment in my vehicle without being cited..that's some bullshit. every single walnut takes close to 5 gallons to grow, and I can't wash my car...give me a fuggin break...and really it wouldn't bother me so much if there wasn't so much waste of the food that is produced using the water...water rights rant OVER!
