Just squared a wholesale deal with Praxair here in OR. I'll have clean non-asian gas avail within a wk. Prices will be competitive with EcoGreen. Get at me, and we can talk

Hope it goes smoothly JC... I'm sure they have some sort of Certificate of Analysis for it, but on the aside, ask them if they could share the name of a third party lab that is capable of testing it for volatile and non-volatile residues.

'Course I could suggest you do my test on it...

Congrats.

Good show brother! LPG from sweet Texas crude, just like pa used to make!

Let me know when you are ready to repel boarders and I'll help spread the word!

Wow you guys should be stoked to get it locally without using the mail. I would actually prefer exchangeable tanks from a gas supplier but the only one I know with 99.9% is 700$ for 40# of solvent and comes in a K-tank like what Perma has.

I retested the new Stok, they seem to be slipping a little.

STOK FYR ABSOLUTE PURITY #2 had 0.004g of residue

STOK FYR ABSOLUTE PURITY, USA, 325ml can, reads on the bottom "14190(1) STOK 325ML 04136"

STOK FYR ABSOLUTE PURITY #3 had 0.006g of residue

STOK FYR ABSOLUTE PURITY, USA, 325ml can, reads on the bottom "14190(1) STOK 325ML 04595"

The increase in residue tracks the serial numbers. They need to monitor their filters output using my test.

So I just distilled another tank of the latest shipment ecogreen got in of the n-tane. I also took the opportunity to wash my sieve. Even with the dust of the sieve it seemed cleen er than the first one I distilled!!! This one didn't smell as potent as the first either. So out of the 1k they got in, 3 had way less residue than any cans I've ever seen.

Newport #3 had 0.019g of residue

Newport, England, 300ml can (167.8g actual,) reads on the bottom "DOM 15.04.14 08:54"

Newport #4 had 0.021g of residue

Newport, England, 300ml can (167.9g actual,) reads on the bottom "DOM 05.10.14 11:25"

Another one bites the dust...

Notice I adding an 'actual weight' figure indicating the net weight of the butane determined with my new $10 scale.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012N1NAA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Someone had requested back channel I include percentage figures on my lists...this should do, as the weight of the residue divided by the weight of the butane multiplied by a hundred will give you a real percentage figure that's so basic you can feel it at the gut level.

So, one after another several biggies, Capital, Purtane, Colibri, and now Newport have fallen in their attempts to maintain QC. Please guys, you need to test a sample of every lot of of butane you're using for extraction. I can't do it for you.

If JColtrane took samples of what he can get, ran my test on them, and then showed you pics of the residue in the bottom of the bags, described any odor, and gave you a weight/percentage of the residue, wouldn't that mean something to you? You'd know exactly what to look for if you bought from him, and did the same test, huh? And if he told you he was testing every new lot with the simple test, there'd be no chance for a repeat of the recent EcoGreen confusion.

FWIW:
Just distilled 48 cans of London brand butane.

I couldn't spare one to dedicate to a test, but did weigh out the paper towel I used to clean my collection pot, which gained .98 grams from the wipe down, which would put it at 20mg per can, but its not as efficient of method and there will be some mystery oil in my hose and sight glass that I couldnt weight and clean properly. So its close to the test results skyhighler obtained on a single can, 25mg.

Ive read it and heard it a few times, that London is repackaged Colibri, but unsure if its accurate.

From my experience its definitely of the same quality if not better, I think with the variances from can to can that they are all pretty similar, any chance you snapped a photo of the MO from London?

Transferring 99.999% N Butane over for its 5x distillation. This is when I wish I had a crazy fast recovery pump!! Looking forward to start hearing reviews of the new CMEP-OL. - #knottyy #distillation #cleanmeds #ironfistextractors #FireBros #NWBA"

Five times..... now do my test on it, and see if you got it all.

I'm contemplating making a "How to test your butane for Mystery Oil" YouTube video. I've been looking at GoPros...

he said in the comments that he only distills 5x because that is how many times it takes to distill until he is left with an absolutely pristine pot, post distillation. So in theory he has concluded your test at this point, 5 times.

How does he know his pot has no residue? And even if it is perfectly clean, are the lines and recovery pump clean, maybe the last of the residue is still migrating along into the solvent tank. He probably did get nearly all of it in five passes, but doing my simple test on the distilled solvent gives you proof you could present in court.

The following retest data will be added to 'SkyHighLer's Guide to Attaining Fine But' linked to below in my ICMAG Forums' Signature:

whip-it! Premium #2 had 0.002g of residue
whip-it! Premium, UK, 400ml can (238.9g actual,) reads on the bottom "14 316 08 03 1"

The residue has extremely little tint or odor, this is all around about the best of the best imo, I'll be looking forward to using up the rest of the case. :))

Gimme a line ... give me a shot to serve you butane.

I thought you said you were only serving up oregon?

I just distilled 2 more tanks of ecogreen n-tane. They were both crazy clean, these two had less smell than the first two as well, but maybe that was from all the sieve dust!

What's your wholesale pricing? Already if you buy 10+ tanks it takes it down from 240 per tank to 200 per tank. Half pallets are 21 tanks I think and full pallets are 42...? I know someone who orders multiple pallets and he turns around and sells them for 200 so you should hopefully be getting them for less than that. Maybe you don't want to say your pricing here which is understandable. Hopefully most people know the price of business and that you gotta get your cut too but I'm sure jackals might try to chip away at you if they knew your pricing.

Capital came out with a new canned n-butane, and a canned n-butane/n-propane blend.

I ordered a case each of the n-butane, and the blend.

This time Ken at Capital was aware of my simple residue test, it would have only taken him an hour or so of his time to double check if his suppliers are misinforming him. If his new products have much of any measurable non-volatile residue, I'm going to scream, loud, long, and publicly.

Also ordered a few cans of Roor butane for testing. Check out the pic, Dr. Geenthumb signature product...
