Well, I was gonna feed them tonight but I really don't feel like they need it yet. It's been a week, and between the three of them they only took 1 gallon of nute mix. Damn 75% humidity. I just turned on the dehumidifier, and I'll probably be running it all the way through the end of flower, hopefully I can keep it around 40%.

I'll definitely feed them tomorrow, I can't wait any longer, it just seems weird waiting this long. They're close to needing it now, but I want to make sure they really want it. :rasta:

Damn, man sorry to hear that, but they aren't the worst pest. I got em too.

First I had some Bti in the form as mosquito larvae killer, just soaked the granules in a jug of water overnight, then watered it in to all my plants. This was a couple days ago and I have not seen any adults.

As extra precaution, I ordered beneficial nematodes, and they arrived today. Tomorrow I will water half the package into the pots, and again 14 days later. I really think that the Bti was enough, but because it was old, I wasn't sure of it's viability, so I ordered the nems too.

Seriously, i'd take gnats over mites any day!

Hope you are successful and can't wait to see some pix.

Take care.

Day 26 Flower

I'm definitely glad it's gnats, and not anything else. They seem like one of the least harmful pests (not that I'm underestimating their potential to harm the girls though.)

I rearranged my plants so that the canopy is much more even, with the SD in the spotlight (It'll be my biggest yielder, and it's the star of this show, so I want it to have the best possible conditions.

I got some sticky pest strips to take care of the adult gnat flies and some mosquito dunks for the ones in the soil. I'm going to soak some mosquito dunk stuff in water tonight and then feed them tomorrow. I gotta look around a bit to find out how much to use, unless someone wants to tell me here.

I also added a fan inside to get a little circulation, I was worried the plants would be frail without the air movement but the stems are massive. When I was rearranging the plants I accidentally hit the plexiglass on my hood with one of the SD budsites, and it left a big smear. I'm glad to see there's a lot of trichs on there, but a little sad I wasted them. :bashhead:

\

I tried to get a few shots of the SD but this was the best one, you can see it's coming along nicely. The plant in the middle picture, I think if I had enough light and flowered at the same height as I did, could be one huge cola. If I like the smoke I might have to reveg it and try out a sog run with it. The one on the right has less trichs than the one in the middle, and a lot thinner leaves up top. I'm really happy with the progress so far, and I think I can take care of the fungus gnats without too many issues.

Day 31 Flower

Plants are looking good, bud formation seems slow but I'm sure that's only because I look at them three times a day, so I don't notice big changes. I think I took care of the fungus gnats. There were several on the sticky strips, I doused the topsoil with mosquito dunk treated water, and the fan inside seems to be helping. I don't want to let me guard down because I don't want them coming back.

Thanks for the compliments UmphreyMcgee420 and Stoned2Death, looking at this thread I can't believe I'm growing this stuff.

Whatever my SD yields, I'm going to figure 2-3x that my cabinet can do. If I had three SD clones just like the one I have now, they'd have a real nice canopy and I think would fit the cabinet nicely. I think for my next grow I want to do some kind of hydro and only one, maybe two plants with a 60~ day veg and lots of LST.

You can really see where the buds are filling in, they're looking good for a month in. You can also see the stretch on the MHM plants compared to the diesel. I have a feeling that the diesel would normally stretch more, but I accidentally topped it right as it went into flower, which stalled growth for a few days. I think this actually helped the plant, all the lower growth grew up and formed an even canopoy, which I think is going to help the total yield quite a bit. I've got 6 tops on the SD, all very similar in size. I'd love if they were 5g - 10g each.

i love that SD bounty, do you have cuts for another run?

and you will love hydro if thats the route you choose next grow, it really is superior to soil.

Nah no cuts, I've got seven seeds left though. I will hold on to the seeds until I've got a space for a mother setup, no point in using all the seeds and then losing it. I've got plenty of other seeds I can grow out, so I plan on having SD for a long time.

Day 39 Flower

I'm extremely pleased with how things are going. Looking at these pictures is putting a huge smile on my face. :jump:

I've decided to turn the dehumidifier on all the time in the room and keep the door shut so the humidity stays low. It's gotten up to 85 degrees, but I'd rather have a little extra heat over moldy buds for sure. It's around 45% humidity, that should be low enough right? I sure hope so... :badday:

Here's a post I made at another thread of mine, so I don't have to type it out again...

I did a little bit of trimming on the first plant pictured above (last one pictured in this post) today, there were a few extremely scraggly buds way down at the bottom, getting no light an stretching like crazy. I cut those off when the lights came on today and set them near my dehumidifier. I smoked them a few hours ago. I wasn't expecting much at all, they're only 39 days old, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I had already smoked a little bit earlier so I didn't get a really good idea of how they were, but my girlfriend hadn't smoked at all today. We bought a gram of "headies" for $20 a few nights ago. That was the first time I had ever paid that much for bud, but it was the only thing I could get and I figured it was worth a try. It was definitely worth it, which I was surprised by. Anyways, my girlfriend said that those buds were "alright" and that these were a lot better, just shorter. I felt it fading away after about an hour and a half or so, but I'm sure that's go something to do with only being 39 days old. Sorry for the rambling, I'm still feeling some effects :joint:

I'm looking forward to seeing these girls all the way through, that's for sure. :rasta:

Thanks for the replies everyone, I didn't expect such a response!

So it's day 40, the SD is halfway there, I've decided I'm going to chop it at 80 days. That's not set in stone, but that's what I'm planning on. (Sunday, Oct. 21st)

fjällhöga, the breeder these freebies came from, said these plants should be done in 60-70 days. That means the harvest for these two should come between Monday Oct. 1st and Thursday Oct. 11th.

That's coming up soon, I'm really looking forward to seeing these through, and having my own homegrown stash again :D

Also, thanks again for stopping in everyone!

Hey Bounty SD is looking awesome. If they're only halfway they should be a good size by chop time. Can't wait to see them done as I'm sure you are as well lol. Take care man.
