They're quite cheap, I believe. I intend to jump on the bandwagon when I've got a mother worth keeping. For flower, my intended method is overkill, with pots so big that roots won't get much oppertunity to get bound. In theory.
Big pots are good. There's definitely a skill in knowing when to transplant.....so many facets of this hobby...probably why it's so all-consuming.
BJ #2.....seems to have attracted some interest. So here's the 5-minute potted bio.
Bagseed.....small, spear-shaped buds, medium density. Vaguely dieselly smell, but not strong. High is a good mix of head and body....not as intense/racy as some, where you are pinned to the sofa while your thoughts are tripping over themselves, but definitely in that ballpark.
The first girl I ran got vegged for 3 days.....shot up like a runner bean, with those wonderful foxtailing buds.
She got accidentally decapitated by me at about 85cm tall, and I chopped her early at about 7 weeks once the seeds I made were ripe.
The second girl......grew like a flagpole....all stalk with the very occasional leaf....I only vegged her for two days, and decided to wrap her around the power cable for the extractor in an attempt to keep her overgrowing the space. Comedy-length internodals - about 13cm apart lower down.
Today is day 46 of 12/12. Note a lot of pistils are browning, but not much swelling of buds yet. The plant looks much frostier in the original photo...the upload to ic certainly takes something away.
Smell makes me think of Vick's Vapo-Rub, but is quite complex....
looking good. the DC is some lovely smoke and i cant wait to hear the report on the LT x DC the LT leaf shape seems at least a little dominant over the DC ones...
have you chopped any others yet.
mites are always tough to control in a perpetual grow, any opportunities you get where you empty the tent or nearly empty it need to be used to try and knock them back. you should also try using neem on a regular basis until the plants are a few weeks into flower.
Neem is something I need to look into. Been spraying all plants, but the Borg aren't called that for nothing. At least webs haven't been a problem yet.
I chopped an (under-performing) BJ#1 and the reveg GP24. Plus I've been slowly picking the PB to bits - nice sativa smoke.....going to have to play with the outcrosses I have (GP24 and "The Fool" (PB x SSH))....sure there's some magic in there to be unearthed.
Between them, the 3 DC-and-DC-hybrid girls I have in the tent make a godawful funk....having to run carbon 24/7.....lovely lemon/tobacco/dank.....but dangerously strong.
I took an early sampler off the LTxDC.....seems to combine the mellow relaxation of the DC with a very clear head.....thoughts are clear while the body is relaxed....very promising....good for having a long hot bath....but still a couple of weeks to go.....Day 44 today....managed to get a shot of the top. She's fattening up well, and the seeds she's making are massive....
Plus one for the BJ #2 fans....I think she's starting to muscle up a little.....finally....Day 49
cool stuff, yeah the LT has the strongest, clearest high in my locker.
neem is great as part of integrated pest management. it slows down the reproductive system and puts them off feeding. not much good once you have an infestation but great to use as part of a routine to avoid it. it smells like onions but ive never smelt it on buds to smoke. if i get a few mites in the flower cab i can keep a lid on them by gently spraying neem from underneath, getting the leaves but not too much on the buds.
Probably the last living shots of the Lemon Chunk.....seeds are ready....I'm ready......day 53 today.
Aroma off the plant is mainly sweet/sherbert with hints of several other things (lemon, pine, solvent/cleaner and others). Quite complex.
Looking forward to the processing of this girl...trimming...deseeding.....finger hash, scissor hash, and the emptied calyces....stickyness deluxe.....load it all up in my old chamber pipe.....a beautiful chore.
Nice shots B. The colour of the DC is lovely. Also great work mate, you managed to wait until they were ready! Do you feel like you're getting your growspace dailed in now? Looks like it.
Enjoy the harvest mate.
Peace.
