Blazeoneup hits the dirt again.

Damn Blaze, you're all about it.

Having a hell of a time on finding the plastic bags for planting. I've always mixed 1parts equal of verm, peat, and perlite and used that with lucas and some epsom.. I wanted to use the same soiless mix but add compost, blood, bone and lime. I'll still do supplemental feeding with flora nova and epsom..

Ohh dude you inspired me, I decided to mount a real door. I had to have it custom ordered for the space but I know it will provide peace of mind. Never done it but I should be alright.

KillerWeed, thank you for the images. I completely understand what I need, now how to go about doing it..

I want to remove my panel and see if there is a conduit for the 60amp that already runs up, I could just run a guide through and pull down what I need then up through the attic. The power panel downstairs has a single and a double space available.

So, I see round 2 is getting near. Just remember, I'll need my invite at least a week in advance so I can clear my schedule

Cheers!

Hey Blaze,

Sorry for putting this post in your soil grow, but I noticed you haven't been over at PG for some time (I will put the post there as well).

I am thinking of building a 24 plant system based on your DWC model. I was wondering if you had any advice with regards to modification. Would you just build a second system side by side? Or could you double everything using one res, one pump? If using one res, would the recommended pump be sufficient? Approximately how much do you think this system will cost (all the parts on your list times 2)?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Soil grow looks very nice. I too am shocked by the strictly water results.
Strictly speaking Pro mix B/X is not organic as there is some non-organic fertilizer added. I believe Sunshine mix 4 has no fertilizers added, if you were concerned with that. Based on this thread i am now trying half organic soil, half coco.

Well I would build a second system side by side, If you were to try and run that many buckets on one res it could very well become a problem. I'm not exactly sure how much it will be but I would guess right around $1100.00 to build the system x 2 with correct fittings and parts!

Well I get the grow bags locally at hydroponics store. If you dont have a local hydroponics shop your best bet is to look around online im sure you will find them somewhere. Real door hehe :) Sounds like you got a little work ahead of you, Good luck and stay safe!

awesome job blazeoneup!! you are my inspiration :canabis:

i have a few questions for you about the way you handle your grow. ive read the thread (and some of these may have been answered) but was hoping you could elaborate a bit for me.

1. how long to you pre-veg in the plastic cups? what wattage are they under at this point, and how far above the plants to you set your lamp? do you use any addatives with your soil mix (like Kelp Extract, benes, anything?)

2. i believe you are vegging for 20 days - please correct me if im wrong. what lamp/wattage are you vegging under (are you flowering under the same lamps?) how high above your canopy are you setting your lamps?

3. you are using CO2. are you introducing it to the crop during pre-veg or veg? do you notice a difference if you've tried both?

thnx blaze! stop by my 1st grow thread... ill be posting jar'ed bud pics tonight and possibly a couple other pics taken during harvest. im happy with the results... thanks to your great DWC tutorial! :joint:

1. I pre veg 10 days in cups, Then transplant to 3 gallon bags where they get 14 more days veg. All under a single 400 watt light about 14" above the plants. Other then the initial ingrediants listed on page on of this thread, I feed plain water no phing no nothing, No other additives.

2. I veg a total of 20-24 days total, 10 days in the cups, Then another 10-14 in the bags. For flower I run 2 1k lights 1 1k mh and 1 1k hps. The way it works is this, Day 1 - Day 30 flower they are under a 1k hps, After that they are moved over under the 1k mh to finish, So each round gets 30 days under hps and then finish the last 30 days under mh. Well It depends on how even the canopy is, If I have an un-even canopy I keep the light high enough to hit the tops of all plants, If I have a solid canopy then I would drop the lights to around 14" above the tops.

3. I do not use co2 for veg, Yes I have in the past and yes it makes a difference in the speed of growth, I just havent finish building the veg room and cant be usin co2 in a wide open space so for now I only use co2 in the flower room.

1a) so 10 days in the cups... and you get root growth that fills up the entire cups - enough to have to break up the root ball? do you get much top growth during this time period - or is there alot of root growth happening when you dont notice tons of growth up top?

1b) so you not only pre-veg under the 400w lamp - but you also do your vegging under it? i counted 20 girls in 3 gal bags on your first post - what is the space/footprint you have these layed out in... and having your lamp 14" above them offers enough light for this area?

2a) whats the advantage to running HPS the first half of flower, and then MH the last?

2b) let me make sure im understanding this correctly. you have 2 stages of flowering... so you are putting all 20 girls under 1 1000w HPS lamp (on a mover) - then after 30 days you are moving them all 20 girls under the 1000w MH lamp (also on a mover) and moving a new batch of 20 girls under the 1000w HPS? if so - can you give me the measurements on the footprint you keep your plants under, as well as the length your mover moves the lamps?

3) same thing with me - no way to veg with CO2, cant really seal that closet. i was going to veg them under my 600s (since flower room is going to be empty and ready for them soon) so that i could run CO2 during veg. /shrug

thnx Blaze!

Looking very good indeed Blaze. Soon I'm gonna be running your soil setup in a DIY cab. I had a couple of questions that I'm sure have been covered already, but stoned as I am, and even though I have read every post in this thread, I just dont know the answers to my questions.
For your promix substitute, what ratio do you recommend for the peat moss and the vermiculite?
My cab is going to be 5X5, but I have been wondering how tall I should go. If I use a 600w HPS aircooled 465cfm how much height should I allow for optimum growth and how much buffer should I leave between light and plants? Also the same goes for a 1000w HPS aircooled 465cfm as well. How tall plants, and buffer?
Do you think that a 1000w in a 5X5 foot print is too much?
I will be running no more than 6 plants through flower, and wondered what size bags you recommend, 3gal or 5gal? For ease of a 30gal mix and using 6 plants I figured 5 gal.

Thank you for the help

What about the K

What about the K

I was just wondering about the soil mix? You are supplementing your N and P with blood and bone but not your K at all. Cannabis is a K hog so a cup or even 2 of greensand or some langbenite would probably improve things. I just had my best harvest ever using more K in the form of greensand than either N or P. Just wondering about this because I've seen people on here before supplementing N and P and not K?????? I think in alot of ways if you look at the entire life cycle of the plant K is the most important nutrient.
Heres a pic of my greensand soaked outdoor. I'm going to utilize the same mix for my next indoor grow. I think its a keeper.

Blazeoneup you are my hero!!! I wrote down my new shopping list. I just lost a batch of blueberry in my hydro unit; I knew there must be a better, simpler way to do this. I really have a brown thumb but I think I can do this. Thanks man!! :smoweed:
