Nitetiger the lemon freeze just stretches like crazy every time. It stretches far more then any of the others so it just ended up tall and lanky...

In Vino Veritas,
I finally got around to taking a couple of photos of my main breaker panel and a sub-panel.
The main Power panel is shown below. I used a combo breaker with a dual trip to feed the two phases that the sub-panel uses. The Common and Ground are wired to their respective busses. I used armored cable, but that is because this sub-panel is not cannabis related and I wanted it to look sweet. Under normal circumstances, I would just run the "romex" bundle from the main panel to sub-panel.

The sub-panel shown below is actually rotated 90deg clockwise. The two hot lines from the main panel, phase 1 and 2, are wired to the lugs for the two hot busses (these busses are really short as this panel only has space for 4 single wide breakers). The Common is wired to the common bus and the ground is wired to the ground bus. NEC forbids bonding on sub-panels, so you will need separate ground and common busses. This panel did not come with a ground bus, so I had to purchase one separately and mount it.

Make sure that you get a sub-panel enclosure with enough breaker slots to ensure that you will be able to run all of the various circuits that you plan on using. As I mention before, try to balance your load across the two hot phases. In the sub-panel above, I actually draw approximately the same power from each phase despite the one phase having 4 circuits and the other having 2.

Blazeoneup, sorry for jacking your thread for most of this week, your grow is awesome and I appreciate your easy to use mix.

i found this information that thought it may answer a few questions i've seen here - as well as make it easier to replace the pro-mix for those that cannot find it locally. i found the information from Premier Horticulture. hope it helps!

11 ingredients in Pro-mix

Sphagnum Peat Moss Natural, organic matter from Canada that has high water-holding and aeration properties.

Perlite Heat-processed volcanic mineral that increases aeration and improves drainage.

Vermiculite Heat-processed micaceaous mineral that holds water and nutrients for plant use.

Limestone Used to adjust pH to optimum range. Also a source of Calcium and Magnesium.

Fast-acting Fertilizer Ensures fast plant establishment into the new environment.

Nutients Starter nutrient charge of major (N,P,K) and minor (Fe, Mn,...) elements is added for initial
plant development.

Composted Bark Derived from Canadian Spruce trees, bark ensures low water-retention and improves pot stability.

Water Absorbant Polymer Polymer crystal holds up to 40 times its weight in water to minimize watering frequency.

Long-lasting Fertilizer Polymer-coated, time-release fertilizer gradually feeds plant roots up to 9 months.

Mycorise A Biological Growth Enhancer that increases the yield of flower, fruit and vegetable plants by extending the root system to acquire available nutrients in the soil. Also improves resistance to root diseases.

Wetting Agent Wetting agent is incorporated in the mix for ease of water absorption and uniform distribution.

im having a hard time finding any pro-mix locally. contacted their US Westcoast rep today to find they only have 2 merchants in Los Angeles (he said the only 2 in california) in El Monte, the other in Orange.

Needless to say, they are about 2 hrs from me... so i think im going to substitute: FF's Light Warrior instead. (so my mix will be: 1 bag of Miracle Gro Organic Choice Garden Soil & Potting Mix, 1 bag of FoxFarm's Light Warrior, 1 cup of Miracle Gro Organic Choice Bone Meal, 1 cup of Miracle Gro Organic Choice Blood Meal, 1/2 cup Dolomite Lime, then 15-20% Big & Chunky Perlite.)

BUT - i may order some Pro-mix online because i like what i read about it...

Blazeoneup -> i know you said a good substitute for the pro-mix would be peat moss + vermiculite... do you believe the mix i am going to use is a pretty good substitute as well? and i noticed from your pictures that you used the Miracle Gro Organic Choice Garden Soil... have you tried the Potting Mix and feel the Garden Soil works better for you, or have you not compared the two? I thought about using 1/2 bag of each the Garden Soil (which you used) and the Potting Mix (which also uses composted bark fines). FoxFarm's Light Warrior seems to be close to the Pro-Mix with a few additions, such as Vermiculite and worm castings.
Miracle Gro Organic Choice - Garden Soil
this is what miracle gro says about the Organic Choice soils...

Grows twice as many vegetables!

* Best for in-ground vegetables, annuals and perennials
* Exclusive mix of all-natural ingredients: compost, sphagnum peat moss and manure
* Work into garden for bigger, more beautiful plants

Miracle Gro Organic Choice - Potting Mix
Twice the growth of ordinary potting soil.

* Ideal for growing vegetables, herbs or flowers in pots or containers
* Blend of all-natural ingredients: sphagnum peat moss and composted bark fines
* Ready to use—no composting, no mess, no mixing

i think i may add in some water polymer crystals as well - its something the pro-mix has, which i just researched for a few hours online. seems alot of pro gardeners have used these gel crystals for many reasons. i may just add some into my mix... just ordered 1 lb @ The Artistic Shop but i also saw them available pretty cheap @ Steve Spangler's Science

Blaze do you use the 10 or the 6 rpm motor on the light movers?
How long of a pause on each end?

You know I am not certain but I am fairly sure it would be the 10 rpm becuase its quite fast, I got it on the lowest pause setting it can go to so it doesnt stop for long maybe a couple seconds.

Thats quite the mix and to go adding more nutes to the water is a bit much however different strokes for different folks. Not to knock you or anything but I would say your going a bit overboard with the feeds they can only eat so much. There is a point in which you can feed them to much and result will be less than quality smoke. Could be quite a chore flushing the soil at the end of the crop. Or be stuck harvesting buds loaded with nutes.

I think your mix will work yes, I dont use the potting mix because the garden soil is mainly for texture and some added organics. The garden soil is closer in texture to the pro mix and quite far from the texture of the garden soil which is almost like fresh earth. Its important for this part of the mix to be heavy and hard, Because when you mix the heavy harder miracle grow with the lighter airy pro mix it meets in the middle so to say, Giving you a texture thats not to heavy not to airy, That provides good support as well as good drainage.

Hey Blaze,

Sorry for putting this post in your soil grow, but I noticed you haven't been over at PG for some time (I will put the post there as well).

I am thinking of building a 24 plant system based on your DWC model. I was wondering if you had any advice with regards to modification. Would you just build a second system side by side? Or could you double everything using one res, one pump? If using one res, would the recommended pump be sufficient? Approximately how much do you think this system will cost (all the parts on your list times 2)?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Soil grow looks very nice. I too am shocked by the strictly water results.
Strictly speaking Pro mix B/X is not organic as there is some non-organic fertilizer added. I believe Sunshine mix 4 has no fertilizers added, if you were concerned with that. Based on this thread i am now trying half organic soil, half coco.
