Arcata Trainwreck

i keep getting conflicting advice/information. maybe ill try 6.3 pH. i have a local friend who has been growing a long time stopping by my place tonight to help me look at the girls, diagnose the problem, and get to work on making things right (ive been experiencing some burns... probably potassium def and maybe a lock-out) so got to get on it.

going to ask his opinion on pH level as well - and consider it with the rest of your advices. he grows both hydro and soil. ill post what i do and which seems better for them. in veg i was in the 6s and definately didnt have the problems... but it was ebb & flow vs. recirculating DWC buckets too (so that alone is a big difference besides pH.)

cheers

Right on Kovenant, that's what you have to do. It's crucial to utilize your critical thinking skills. "Take what is useful, discard what isn't, and make what is yours your own." >>Bruce Lee

Let us know, I'm curious. I can only account for my experiences.

Good Luck with your babies!!

And i don't think he's hoarding the strain. He's kinda like either no one gets it or everyone gets it for free. I'll chat with him next time we hook up.

Mark is correct, the holder of the line in question is indeed the original, real deal sharer. I learnt lots and lots from him for sure in conversations at OG. It really is not possible for him to share the seed with the world for free, as it costs a fortune and he already gives away so much to people in real need locally. I've spoken with him lots years back about being able to pass them to medical users for free and he is really for that. So in this case, not right to accuse of hoarding. Remember he passed those clones out for years, no hoarding at all.

There has been much work on Wreck lines over the years, it is a real special line.

What good does it do ta hoard any strain?

It does no good for the plant, it is usually a ego ting' no ego with the above originator of the ATW.

Last I wanted to say...those Wreck seeds(Original Arcata) will soon be out in feminized beans.

She doesn't reverse particularly well.

Peace, hhf

Man i just want to say i'm very upbeat by the tone of this thread-trying to figure out the best way to do it. Talking ethics about strains. Using our collective knowledge to further the cause. No TROLLING. I'm very optimistic.

Hothouse flowers is correct about the man behind the strain- he's one of the most compassionate peeps int he medmj field- and no EGO either. He GIVES MEDS FREE to his cancer aids, and catastropic pain people. How many other people do that!!!

I might send him this url as the positiveness of it would probably make his day.

Maybe as a small collective we could experiement and figure out the best growing conditions for the wreck.

oh and BTW- I so far agree with GDW on ph matters- he is a ic hall of famer if ya all didn't know LOL. That's what getting run over by a tank will do to ya. Give you a little perspective on life- what's important and what's not. Right? GDW?

And btw -anyone know where the hell the capt. is???

Hey Mark,

thanks for all the kind words, but i don't know all about that. Just a normal person like the rest of us here. Love growing and love the TrainWreck even more. I run my girls in Hydro at 6.0 PH and they love it. Will be back soon enough and will make sure to start a new Trainwreck thread. Since i'll be making more seeds i will have a couple of larges girls getting hit up with the Disco Pete pollen, "Pure Thai" for those fresh OE seeds for the April cup. Any ways, thanks again and I'll try to dig up some old pictures of my girls. Take care all and have a super weekend. If anyone see's Capt. tell him to get his butt over here. People are worried about his Capt ass. lolol
Later,
BG

Here, not the best. All i have that i can find.

Do you growers of TW find that it is a heavy feeder? It sure has some flimsy branches....I had to support every one with a plant tie.
70s_PotHead...your TW's look great, btw! :headbange

I just harvested my 1st Arcata TW, grown in a 2 gal pot of promix. Not my best grown plant...seemed to suffer a cal/mag/k deficiency in the last few weeks. So far it smells like rank 7-up/Sprite! :D I let it go to 9wks because I did not want the paranoid high that I have read about on occasion associated with trainwreck. I'm looking forward to finding out!! :joint:

TW right before harvest.....

Various Qe32's, a homage to 'e's wonderful selection and/or creation of the e32 line. My favourite herbs.

Many, many thanks to e, a very special man and plant. Good luck with the projects Mark.

wow ~ awesome pics everyone. cant wait to see what my current TWs produce.

just switched to flower and mixed up a half veg, half flower nute solution. pH'ed at 5.7 and im flying out of state for 3 days. my pH usually rises about a point daily - so by the time i get back im expecting 6.0 or 6.1pH. going to see how it goes... probably keep it at 6.0'ish for a few more days once back and see how they look.

heres a pic from this mornin - cant wait to give some budshot pics :joint:

peace!

Last cuts I got from Harborside were pretty sensitive and ended up being hermie garbage. The ones I grew outside a few years back seemed much more durable.

AWESOME pics everyone...I mean some damn fine stuff for sure...:headbange.

Hey HotHF,

Nice looking plant(s). How much did you yield? If you're on top of it, you can yield quite a bit of weight from TW.

Hey HotHF,

Not to derail the thread, but they are customers plants, various grows/growers.

I've grown TW of all types for some time. Never had a problem in getting her to yield well with multiple tops and big enough root volume. If we make multiple tops and create a large number of budsites we can get good yields indoor from her, especially considering her speed and overall high quality. It is great medicine for many and can be a efficient plant.

Here is one of ours being prepared for flowering and pollination indoor, see what i mean about the multiple tops. A green fast pheno in pic above.

And another outdoor in the Spanish sun, being forced flowered.

Peace, hhf

In that second shot of the top the plant looks a little mutated???

Never had a problem in getting her to yield well with multiple tops and big enough root volume.
TW is an awesome yielder outdoors and I've heard indoors too with a little help. Outdoors 1 pound 1 plant easy.

especially considering her speed and overall high quality
For sure!

Hey people, some fantastic pics here on this thread and a lot of faithful Wreck lovers!!! Great to find you here and to be a part of it all! I just startes a new grow and I'm about to finish off my previous one! Some awesome plants that still amaze me everytime I put my nose to the test. I'm sure you all agree, those who know the Wreck and have grown it, and those who haven't will soon find out! :headbange

Been seeing some amazing crosses here and there and I'm planning on a few of my own...so I can't wait to spread some love and get some love as these crosses evolve.

Here some of my favorite shots.

Keep it green,
