I have to say the 50mm peat pucks were a failure. Too many issues to list. Trust me. Not worth it at all. So I'm moving back the the tried and true small pucks. The plants did 500% better with them.
one of my hybrids (cherry bomb X red leb)....coming into maturity
so quick question out to the more experienced growers
I have 3 of these plants, all approx same size and maturity
im contemplating as another experiment...on just 1 of my 3 plants
to lop off the top cola, seal stem, and let her finish off the season.
why ??.....to see if this operation will result in bulkier lower branches
i realize its late in the season, but there may be another 3 weeks or more to grow yet
depending on how late frost will be this year
plant is over 7' tall and branchy
so what are your thoughts on that guys ??
what do you think ? (me, ive only been growing outside 2nd yr now)
and this is just a hunch i have....is there any merit to it ??
