Anything outdoors 2020

I just got back in from putting out 2 dozen clones. The nice thing about dusk is that I can work close to the road and see car lights coming from any direction. This is a very convenient spot. Close to the road yet well hidden with excellent visibility for 1/2 mile (1km) in either direction. If I see that they're growing too fast, I'll top them to keep them from poking their heads out. Easy to water and feed if they need it too.

Thanks for all the good advice guys!

TC do you plant them with the intention of harvesting or do you do it for the giggles?

I'll pop the odd seed here and there in a church flower bed, cop shop flower pots and have always wanted to do Parliament Hill. I have switched a seedling with a tomato plant at the nursery that included the bar code, so that was fun. I'll be putting a few on the path to local Geo Cashes. :D

But I plant to harvest. I wanted to do a thousand this year, but the world fucking up messed up my plans. So I cut back to ~300. But that's a good thing I think. I tend to bite off more than I can chew. I still have another 40 clones I have to put out. I just took my last cuttings for this year. They'll be going in the ground at the end of the month.

I have more seed balls to spread, but that's just an experiment.

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well.
Eggy, l use two foot, 600mm, root barrier for large above ground pots. They come in six meter rolls and one full roll gives you a 300 gallon, 900 litres, bed. These are really cheap compared to anything else l looked into, around $20.
When you screw two, or more, together you have to use a bit to put over the join to strengthen the connection because the soil will burst it open. I use three rows of screws with an overlap of about 200mm.
This product also comes in one foot, 300mm, widths as well and might be something worth looking into for your spot.
This idea was inspired by Tom Hill with his smart pots and thanks to him my thoughts went in this direction.
I’ve been waiting for someone to ask the question you have Eggy so cheers for allowing me the opportunity to post this information up.
Remember you heard it here first at Icmag folks.
Cheers,
40.

What kind or root barrier are you using? There's lots. Got a link?

Am I missing a third option?

"Depending" on plant size, and how much sun, a 20 L pot could need watering everyday. I had some in square pots last year, 5 imperial gallons, milk crate, garbage cans they needed a half gallon water each most days in July/August.

Third option, so you can't get away with having one closer to home?...OK. How about sticking two in one hole, as far apart as possible, and then tying (training) them back more with string, shoe lace, etc. Sure not as good as one per hole, but watering everyday is a big PITA if you have to travel to do it.

Hey Tycho,
I’m sorry but I’ve got no idea how to put up a link but it’s “Whites 600mm Recycled Garden Root Barrier”.
It’s about a millimetre thick and takes up very little room in a pack.

I've considered it... but it would have to be some serious plant BDSM to keep it low profile.

I got a few weeks to before it'll need transplanting from it's current home in my greenhouse so plenty of time to figure out.

Tycho! A 1000! And thats planted in several locations... That my man is putting in work!!!

300 seems a lot more manageable when dispersing them in several locations

this spot contains mostly ultra early love potion and a few boreal lights. the plan is to make a ton of seeds using all ultra early love potion males. boreal lights was planted a few days ago, after 3 days in paper towel and may be too early to get properly seeded by the uel. the last 2 pics are boreal lights.

Interesting. Growing them together in a mound like that will give you tall single cola spears.

There are early BL phenos that will start flowering at 5 weeks from seed. The other will flower later, so you're likely to get them seeded. Keep an eye out for the dwarfs. Awesome high.

I finally have everything I'm growing for the season potted up or in the ground.

In the ground I have a "Lemon Wookie Glue" from Equilibrium genetics. Popped it back in April. I haven't grown plants in the ground yet because of gophers (always kept em' in pots), so if this plant doesn't get fucked with by any gophers through out summer it'll be my first plant grown in the ground/in native soil. It's already bigger than any other plant that I've grown before.

I haven't given that plant or the earth/soil it's in any fertilizers of any sort at all and it's looking fantastic, 100% healthy and packing on growth every day. I love the soil/earth I have to work with in my area, sandy/loamy and loaded with native worms.

And in my fabric pots I have some clones.....

Sour Lemon Diesel (Sour D X Lemon Kush)

Capstone (Super Lemon Dawg X [Cherry Pie X Orange Apricot])

Vanilla Frosting (Humboldt Frost X Humboldt Gelato)

Garanimals (Grape Pie X Animal Cookies)

Wedding Cake (Pretty sure it's the Triangle Mints pheno)

Mirage (Lemon G X Dr. Hofman)

Strawnanna (Banana OG X Bubblegum)

Permafrost (something along the lines of Trainwreck X White Widow)

All clones in live soil...This is the 3rd year I'm using the same soil.

Hoping for a good harvest. I haven't grown this big of a variety this past few years.

Excited to see how those 2 strains compare side to side. Should be cool seeing how that Boreal lights x Love potion turns out for you too. I personally like F1 hybrids a lot. So much vigor and many gems to be found.
