Hi guys my run off ph keeps on rising. I thought it fixed the problem before but it’s happeneing again.. any tips on stabilizing the ph? I feed at 5.5 and i checked today the run off is 6.9. :(

Stop worrying about your runoff in coco.... you cant fix that.... just feed from 5.8 to 6.2 and be done.... I have seen different measurements off the same damn pot minutes later.... The slurry test only works some of the time.... in coco...

Hi Dan. Thanks for all this info. I just ordered this product for myself as I, too, have been seeing the yellowing and red stems in veg at 1.0EC. I tried looking back through the thread and couldn't find my answer to your question.

Do you add this into your res and at what rate during veg? The directions say to use it once or twice a week so I am not sure if you are using it as a top dress or in your res at a lighter rate.

Thanks in advance! You always have the best guidance.

i add it to my rez at 3ml per gallon :tiphat:

Sorry I thought I mentioned it earlier but I’m growing in rockwool not coco.

rockwool doing recirc ??? try advanced brand PH adjusters . they hold the PH longer & are more concentrated so you use less . i've noticed if i use a recirc pump in my rez's that the PH needs adjusting daily . so i have them kick on twice aday for 30 minutes & that slows down the PH drop for me . but i know that won't work in your case . so try the advanced , but if that doesnt work , you might just have to adjust daily or get a bigger rez .

My RO water is 0. I'm adding calmag until I hit 0.5-0.7 EC and then add my VB until I hit 1.5EC in flower...everything coming along nicely!! Running ebb and flow in rockwool chunks :woohoo:

Dan, after our earlier discussion on feed levels, I decided to let these girls ride for a bit to show you what I was talking about. They started 12/12 9 days ago, and have been fed at 1.8 EC after vegging at 1.6, and I just bumped them to 2.0 tonight.

I use a venturi on my pump in my rez. o/o through a deep, cycle timer 4 minutes on/30 minutes off: 24/7

Why would running a pump for 30 minutes keep more oxygen in solution for ~ 12 hours?

for me flora the pump is just to keep the mix from settling on the bottom of the barrel . so i have the pump come on for a half hour before it feeds .
the pumps in my flower rez's come on 15 minutes before the feeds because i feed more often in flower than i do in veg .

they look great Rives !!! maybe strain & environment make the difference , but if i feed that high i get burn & it locks up the budset .
how often do you feed ? i feed 3 or 4 times during the light cycle .

Thanks Dan. It's hard to make out in the picture, but they are actually a bit on the pale side. They will snap right back now, though.

I use Blumats, so they get a constant moisture level. I've always read that feeding that way will drop the required feed levels, but it sure isn't the case with this strain.

I love the good old Jack's Classic personally I use the all purpose and bloom booster pretty much as directed. I went through a few cannabis specific nutrient lines then after trying Jack's Classic in a side by side I've never looked back.

It's just another plant after all if works great for veggies and all it will work great for weed. I do use organics for some of my outdoors I just don't have enough compost material for all.

How many times a day do you feed? The less you feed the higher the EC can / should be. I get away with 1.2-1.4 in DTW feeding 6-12 times per day.

fyi there should be nothing to settle to the bottom if you're using all salt based nutrients. Salt based nutrients should remain fully dissolved in solution, if you have grit at the bottom it's likely due to incomplete mixing of the powder or nutrients precipitating out of solution due to your stock solutions mingling before they're fully mixed in the working rez.

I use a mixing pump in my rez, but it's mostly to keep it oxygenated and fresh.

ok, well i just ordered the tap/hard version. gonna do a few runs in coco. question - are y'all using the v + b in veg as well? i've got a lot of maxigrow on hand and that shit is great for veg.

If you use RO use that formula if dechlorinated tap the the one you have is great.... V+B works in VEG just fine but we like an additive or two EPSOME for the strains we run and A vitamin and hormone booster will go a long way... Maxi... if thats what you're comfortable with for the moment and have some on hand.... go with that.... Im pretty sure my friend Dan can elaborate further.... He goes way back with v+b...
Good Luck

Veg + Bloom isnt all mineral salts. It has other stuff in it to give plants that extra. Bio stimulants in small amounts. Personally I like to use my bio stimulants as an additive in a foliar spray. Kelp/humic & fulvic acid/ amino acid/ and yucca to he exact. Thats where they are most effective. In a spray on the leaves and stems. Once every 5 to 7 days in veg and early flower. Gives me a squat bushy plant. Super healthy and increase in yields. I only top once or twice in veg but with my foliar spray regimen..looks like a multi topped 20 inch bush. Especially effective for lanky stretchy wide node set strains like og based gear and more sativa leaning cultivars.

Dansbuds, could you please elaborate on this "it locks up the budset" what do you exactly mean by that??

the reason i am asking - i am doing the test run with V+B DOS in coco/perlite mix and i am trying to dial it in. in the past, when i ran cutting edge solutions, i had to feed very high with GG4 in first few transition weeks (under gavitas/CO2) - about 1.8-1.9 EC to avoid fading and deficiencies. I did the same with V+B and my plants didn't really stacked right. the top colas are loose and there are quite big spaces within top cola. interesting enough some lower side branches are bigger and stacked right compared to main top colas. i will try to take a picture.

i vegged plants with house and garden and then switched to V+B DOS right after flip to flower.

I never go above 1.2-1.3 ec with the V+B using blumats. Low ec all the way through bloom and water for the last week.
