When I started having issues I paid more attention to the mixing of the v + b. 800ppm could easily be a 1000 when mixed better.
Did you have issues with V&B....or just issues mixing V&B? If that whitesh stuff on the bottom is actually undesolved V&B.....you are right.....my .8 could easily be 1.+ over time. I'll definitely keep an eye on the PPMs and also try to figure out how to do a better job of mixing V&B. Sure would like to know what I did wrong.
Thank you Positivity! Appreciate the input!:tiphat:

it'll mix up , takes a few minutes . but the reading is pretty accurate after a minute or so . i just drop a recirc pump in my 55 gallon to do the mixing . i use a 1 gallon pitcher full of ro to add the V&B too then dump that in the barrel & let the pump mix it for a few minutes . normally i need to ad a little more & that i just sprinkle on top . let it mix for 5 minutes .... adjust the PH & pull the recirc pump out .... done .

Your welcome...Small issues, some plants were under green..some over. As time went on using it I had a exact number I like to hit that keeps most my plants happy. Plus my gallon of nutes just sits idle by my veg area so I mix it well initially..

Whatever the white stuff is....it's been a couple of hours and it still hasn't desolved. PPMs are dead steady. On further review....the whitish stuff actually looks pinkish.

Just to make sure I have this correct. I add ProTeKt first to the rez and give it a couple of minutes to mix. Then I mix V&B in a 1 gal container. Just stir until desolved?
Add that to the rez and then sprinkle any additional V&B on the surface of the rez and allow the pump and air stone to do their thing for a couple of minutes. If EC is correct PH feed and I'm done?
Appreciate the help!:tiphat:

i always used the protekt last . yeah i get the cloud , but it goes away in seconds .

I also add protekt last. As my ph up mostly. It clouds. And then it gets mixed in
If you have a baseline of how much silica you are going to need to adjust ph you can add approximately that first. But you will probably still have to adjust at the end.

Anybody have cheaper alternatives to protekt? I like to support dyna. But i literally pour it straight from the bottle to adjust ph. 120 mil+ to adjust 30 gallons.

I'm more concerned about the residual on the bottom of the rez. Searched this thread and evidently a few people have had this same issue. So.....the solution is just to mix it with water (1 gal) until it dissolves and then add it to the rez? That's it....no more sandy looking residue on the bottom of the rez? Can't understand why it would dissolve in 1 gal of water....but even after hours not dissolve in 55 gals with a pump and an air stone.

Agsil 16h is pretty much what most SI supplements use for their base. In bulk form you can get 10,000 gal worth for like 20 bucks.

You could use phosphoric acid as ph up (I use AN) or I read a post by RB-26 here awhile back.
He used dolomite lime in a stock solution, think it's 5-6 tblspn period gallon of h2o.
It added cal/mag to the solution but raised ph naturally, used at 1fl oz/ 3 gallons of res.
I use slightly less, but this kept my oh steady.
I always have problems with my ph dropping with any brand of nutes. I use ro too.

Aloha.

I have also been using the V+B PUSH as a foliar feed with noticeable results. Using at label rate of 50ml per gallon once per week in veg and first 2 weeks of flower. I am growing outdoor DTW using ProMix and cinder.

A good reasonably cheap source of silica is the Skunk Labs Horticulture Silicate 7.8 Soluble Silica Supplement For Plants you can find on Amazon. I have used this with no issues.

V+B 1100 PM/2.2EC 21 days flowering. Only using V+B Ro/Soft and hygrozyme now. Had a mag def a few weeks ago and was adding Epsom for the first 14 days of flower. Plants look puuurfect. White Fire on left and GG4 on the right. Hopefully these ladies finish another good run.

Those are looking extremely healthy. Nice work!

Thanks for the tips frank and Hawaii. I'll look into both. I do still like to enjoy the benefits of Silica as ph up.
I see bloom silica is 53% or so. Seems like a good value

eb and gro must allow them to handle 2.2ec, In coco that would fry the shit out of my plants. Can't even hit 1.8ec before they fry.

I must say I am loving the v&be. They are slow as fuck with the shipping. I put my order in Thursday, the tracking shows that they haven't even shipped it yet. They only called for it to be picked up. 5 days and it hasn't moved. Not what I would call professional.

They should work on it. I had to have my phone replaced last year. It got to California from Texas in less than 24 hours. I am sure v&b could find a better shipper.
