I ran HD for 3 months- it sucks.

I switched from original RO formula to HD mid flower and that really messed my crop up. It was like a ton of trichomes died. Never frosted back up.

That really pissed me off. I want to like them again but can't trust them after that. There was other small complaints too. Otherwise great stuff. Might even go back if this run doesn't match the V+B.

I don't get what your saying. I don't see how this has anything to do with my question above? Can you explain more?

Switching to maxi which has less mag and ca so maybe that's what you mean? Where did silica levels come into this convo?

So confused mixing up the first maxigro feed right now

:tiphat:

I am using Maxigro as my base for veg, then add stuff to get as close to V+B as I could. SO I looked at the concentration on the V+B label, which makes me believe that I should add calMag to get close to the Ca and Mag levels in V+B. And I noticed no listing for Silica in the maxigro, So I am adding Silica Blast.

The Silica is good for bigger stalks and better resistance to heat.

I hope that helps and clarifies.

Definitely clarified thanks!

I fed em with maxigro + magical and theyre perking harder then ever 7 hrs later. Yeah I think it has to do with the ratio the maxigro has 3:1 ratio of ca and mg which is solid in coco so a little cal mag won't hurt but I think it's pretty set like the V+B just add it for insurance makes me feel better. Anyway guess I'm on the maxigro train for now. Anything that's one powdered has been kicking ass for me period.

Is anyone still using V+B of any formulation straight up, or close? Dansbuds are you still just RO and epsom for the varieties that need it?

In bloom I run V+B RO/Soft straight up 1.3ec. Nothing added except ph up when necessary. I don't think the V+B needs a damn thing with my well water in bloom. I run a shitload of different strains in a perpetual. 25+ strains, none have needed epsom:biggrin:

like stoned40years .... i only use additives in veg . in flower its straight up RO water & V&B 1.4EC max , nothing else is needed . don't even need PH adjustment at that EC level . only on the lower EC do i need silica as a PH up .

in veg i use V&B & the V/H boost & either calmag or epsom salts depending on the strain . & 90% of the strains don't need either one . just the finicky ones .
i give .8 EC for clones & seedlings & max out at 1.0 EC .

How do you guys talk to them? I've called three times left voicemails and sent emails and nada. Might be a good product but their customer service is horrible.

Why don't you post your questions in this thread. People using it might know as much as the people making it:biggrin:

that would concern me a little bro! lol :) but i have been running the veg+bloom in veg right now using 1/2TSP and plants seem to be liking it. Only other thing im adding is 4ml of hydroguard and .5g of epsom salt.

No doubt im sure there is some experienced vb users on here but that wasn't my point I like to chat with the people I'm supporting and ask questions if they can't even call or email me (potential customer) back then I'll use a different company

Hey what's up all V+B users. This is sort of directed at dansbuds, but anyone feel free to chime in. I know he was mentioning something about weird deficiencies from recently purchased bagged canna coco. Anyway, I have a few plants presenting symptoms since transplant about a week ago, and I want to see if this is what you were experiencing? I understand what most of them are just trying to get a grips on it. Running tap water (0.1EC) and recently RAW calcium/magnesium to bring to 0.2/3 and then V+B to 1.0/1.1 EC for veg and having a lot of shit present all a sudden.

Just before the questions, I'll try to answer most of them ahead of the time. First, yes I know this isn't the right forum, and certainly the wrong topic. But I think it does pertain to the possible issue of using V+B at lower strengths for veg. Second, my RH is really low, peaking in the upper 40s, temps in the lower 80s lights on (600w MH veg[20/4]), mid 70s off. I have done one thing stupid, that was use plain tap to water with heavy runoff to hydrate the pots 2 days after transplant (also moistened with plain tap from bag, no wash). Did that to promote root growth then realized I may have messed up and did the next day, 2x each pot volume with .4ec 5.8pH to flush, then 1x pot at 1.1ec 5.8pH. OMG sorry to derail and drone on, been drinking a bit after a long week so far. Anyway, plants today in these pictures have worsened on older growth but have definitely grown for the first time in a couple of days. I also recorded run-off EC during that process on a majority of plants, no pH readings as I was being hasty.

Anyway, again I apologize, here are my plants fed exclusively V+B (hard formula from last year) with RAW calcium/mag to bring starting tap from 0.1 to 0.3, V+B to 1.0 pH 5.8. 5 weeks from seed, rocky start and indeed transplant:

Also using Drip clean at rec strength, and DM zone at maintenance strength for each watering, as I intend to run both of those in the blumat reservoir. Also did a recommended strength foliar feed last week of Vitazyme. Hopefully that's all pertinent info. Thanks brothers.

I run the RO formula, but those leaves look like what I get when I drop the feed too low. I have one strain that starts going into it when I get any lower than about 1.4 EC.

You seem to be new to coco. I'd just follow the basics you did too much and started messing with there water as soon as they got transplanted and stressed them. I'd back off the waterings and just keep it simple. Your Leaves look like oversaturation and imbalances. A heavy hand you have indeed and your ladies are showing it. :tiphat:

Hopefully that helps

I think you're probably spot on brother. I did have some early magnesium deficiency but I think feed was just too low. Feed rate is the same but I think I goofed on the straight water and possibly the flush. This is perfect practice though. Thanks for your help
