Dan when i go coco i'll start with the ROOTS, I have read several threads and i think it will be a home run for the V+B supporters, from the pictures i have looked at here and elsewhere on other sites has some really nice full plants with just water for the first 3 weeks, it has been suggested to start feeding somewhere between weeks three and four if you want a longer veg, most of the people use Maxi Grow with great success for those extra weeks in veg if ya need them, hope that info is useful to you Dan. Ive read about 120 threads and those were my findings.

Good God. 346 pages. This has been almost painful.

Thank you everyone for contributing.

Dans? Could I ask a favor from you? perhaps edit one of your beginning post very early on with a summary of everything that has been covered?

like Aspen said , thats kind of a hefty request brutha :yoinks: theres ALOT of info in here !!!
if you can give me an idea of what your grow style & mediums are , I might be able to help you decide on a formula to use & a guide for feeding with it . :tiphat:

Chris just contacted me , hes got a new formula coming out for coco growers , its a 2 part that can be dialed in better & can be added to dosatrons or mixed together for rez users . i'll post my findings & likes & dislikes after i get it & use it . hopefully this helps with my veg problems , but i'm still ditching canna coco for now !

Hmm, two part for coco huh? If that negates the necessity for an additional cal/mag product then why not?

I just noticed this new batch I got of RO/Soft (all previous were Tap/Hard) says to bring start EC up to 0.3 with tap water? I just thought that was odd, since it's RO/Soft version? I have some RAW industries calcium/mag and their silica on the way, which I planned to use to bring EC to 0.3 then V+B to desired feed, silicone should reduce the need for pH up as well.

I'm really struggling with some seedlings this time, and I never had issues with my shitty old tap (0.8ec) diluted to 0.3/4 with RO then V+B to feed, seedlings and all. But this 0.1 tap and the hard water formula are killing me. Finally got the Mg and N issues taken care of, and one plant massively browned a few leaflets on newer growth overnight..

very good idea ! & your right about the silica , i use protekt as my PH up . I don't add any tap either , just straight RO water .

veg with the V&B has always been kinda finky , a little stronger feed does seem to help rid some of the weird defs that show . have had it look like the PH was outa range but wasn't , & the stronger dose cleared things up . I've been using a vitamin/hormone booster from MB ferts which has helped alot too . but they got nailed for using pgr's & had to change thier formulas . so we're on the look out for a replacement of some kind .

if ya read back a few posts , i've ben plauged with problems in veg & am changing alot in veg hoping to fix a few things.

Yeah I did see that, and something about a new batch of bagged canna coco? I also picked up a new bag 3 weeks ago for these seedlings, but I'm also using a new source of tap water that's really clean compared to my old 0.8ec stuff in Nebraska.

I actually was planning on picking up vitamin booster per your recommendation earlier in the thread, then saw the EPA thing a couple of weeks ago ala thread at IC.

I'll post a picture in a second of the new plant that turned, I'm a novice at diagnosis because I haven't had issues before and I'm still a novice grower.

just so u know the raw silica dont bring ur ph up or down. its good shit i been using this year, but after more research i feel like its just diatomaceous earth but could be wrong for the ph up silica u want potassium silica.

So the RAW silica is pH neutral? Either way that's fine, seems like a good addition for nice healthy plants. The calcium/mag with my tap water should be adequate to buffer pH. Right now with my tap, enough V+B to raise ec to 1.0 from 0.1 leaves pH at 5.5, just a little low. Will definitely need some help at higher feeds for flower.

Here is a quick picture of a BOG Sour Boggle that was looking okay, maybe a bit of burn after suffering from underfeeding, has this woriesome brown spots on newer leafs that just showed up overnight. Prior feed to this last one had the first and only inclusion of epsom salts.

thats strange ! it doesn't look like a def . it almost looks like burn from spilling nutes on it as you fed it . is that possible ?

I don't have any problems right now vegging with veg+bloom and magical. Also I don't feed below 1.0ec in veg. Thinking I'll use up my rest of h&g for veg or maxibloom and then use veg+bloom. Hate wasting nutes. Either way veg+bloom still doing great over here

Why wouldn't someone use maxigrow in veg when it works better than V+B and costs way less.
Price per Lb.
V+B- $20
Maxigrow- $6.50

That is what I do now. I stopped using Veg + Bloom. It was better when it was new. Something changed.

I have been trying maxi powders my last run and this new one. The first time I tried just MaxiBloom at 7 grams a gallon in veg and flower and didn't like it. This run was Maxigro for veg and it did pretty good. I would have to say I think my plants started better in coco with V+B. At three weeks old though, you wouldn't know the difference.

Just switching to MaxiBloom now for flowering. I think adding some humic and fulvics would equal them out more too.
