Thinking about giving VB a shot but am confused by the talk of needing calmag with the RO formula. If it is designed for RO surely the creators took that into account when formulating their "RO" product.

Has anyone addressed this with the company and been offered any explanation?

Yes, I use RO. Water and add 3-5'ml per gal of Magical.

3rd ..... the only ones adding Calmag & discussing it have been me & EZ . its because we're running Sour bubble & SB crosses that are Calmag hogs ........ 90% of the strains i use V&B on DO NOT need calmag ! only the Cal hungry Hogs like SB .

RO formula V&B is great by itself !!!! no extra CalMag needed !!!!

They don't sell any "only" RO formula that I see, maybe I'm wrong and missing it on their site. They sell a formula that is made for RO/Soft water. This means it's formulated to work with up to .3ec water. If it was made just for RO it might be a different formula.
"RO/SOFT is great for all hydroponic applications such as rock wool and coco. It's specially formulated for soft water (under 200PPMS or .1-.3 EC)."

Funny story... went on vacation.. needed to have someone water my ladies.. trusted my mum to take care of them and just mixed up a batch of maxibloom at 1tsp per gal and pH'd the water fo her before I left. 6 days later I come back, and my room had exploded with happier plants compared to veg bloom.... I'll be going back to maxi for now... cannot compete with the simplicity and the vigor that it produces.

Oh she definitely has a green thumb lemme tell you... she has a beautiful garden at home and is even a hop farmer! Haha. However this time she simply applied premixed h2o and boom. Convinced me. Just my .02

user error I dont see a substantial difference in health between veg/bloom and maxi so you must be doing something wrong. I dont like how GH got bought out so I switched to VEGBLOOM. There customer service is fantastic.


ps: i use ca/mg no matter what brand im using when using RO

I'm starting a run of Chem 4. It is on 4g/gal RO, 1g/gal hd and 3ml/gal Calmag in tupur. I was running just 5g/gal RO, the girls started to get a little hungry on top growth but retained very dark green leaves with purple petials

all through veg & into flower , at least untill the budset starts .
some will use it as long as they're feeding nutes , i'm in coco & it can build up a calcium toxicity if used to long because of the cations . its recomended that if you need calmag to stop the cal by week 4 & only use a mag source from there on .

what do u use as ur mag only source bro? i use magnum and its been pretty effective for me.
