Been doing a lot of research regarding HRs V +B and +Size, which has been renamed

When flowering, I was using the +Size, and was happy with the results.

This time I was going to use V + B throughout, but it occurs to me that might provide too much N in flowering, when we want less.

PERHAPS, by adding the Shine/+Size 0-11-11, after mid-flower, the increased PK offsets, or diminishes, some of the N. Anybody?

The only thing that can offset or diminish the N is if you lower the amount/ec of the V+B when you add the shine/+size:biggrin:

Wasn't veg + bloom marketed as a single all in one mix... kinda funny how it went from single all in one, to another container.... to another container... and now 3 containers in your mixing the same amount of shit as if you'd be using if you were on any other simple premade nutrient line... I think they got us.

I agree. :tiphat:

I found a website to buy raw nutrients, supposedly sold through a dealer network (haven't seen it in 2 listed). They have a better balanced grow formula, and a separate bloom formula, plus, a few supplements like Humic and Yucca that I want to try

Search NPK Industries dot com :woohoo:

Just not sure it can be used for hydro, though it should, as H Smith is all about hydro.

Still, why doesn't the web site say so? :wallbash:

http://npk-industries.com/

and why am I looking elsewhere when my plants look like this?

Because flowering is where the magic is

Yeah, they still do, so do there advertisers, I bought +size and never used it, havent needed it, to me the whole point is one part.

Personally, I've seen little to no difference between v+b(ro&hd) alone or in conjunction with +size/shine. I stick with RO formula now. You're not the only one to notice the bloating of HR's product line.

I'm going to use it in early flower in the hopes that it DOES make my sourbubble stretch more.

yeah, i can see where a bot of stretch would definitely benefit you

i put plants in 12/12 may1st
put the rest in last week, multi strain.
about a 1/3 of those are 12-18" shorter than others
so I'll hit those up and see if i can even things out

Went to my hydro store today to inquire about RAW nutrients and was introduced to the president of Emerald Harvest.

Their products are in solution. When I expressed my concern about dead water, he explained that they purify the water using RO then DI, THEN vortex the water before mixing nutes. Thats a very good sign. I did mention to him structuring as a final step, which he is going to look into

I left with samples of their 2 part bloom formula, which is low on sulfur, but will test it now

It helps, but my 6/9 Sour Bubbles stretch more. Without VH booster.

Something to consider for sure. I'm really curious to see how the perfect grower line works for your SourBubble. I've been curious about the pg line for a while, but their representative here on the Mag has completely underwhelmed me with vague, non-informative answers. Made me decide to pass on it.

Hey EZ, definitely check out Emerald Harvest. I started using Cali Bloom 2 part in 2 tents today.

You can follow along on Hail Hydro thread

Hello, Has anyone used Calimagic opposed to CalMag Plus with VB RO? I was playing around with the idea as calimagic is 1-0-0 calcarb, mag nitrate, opposed to calmag + 2-0-0 cal nitrate, mag nitrate

Additionally, has anyone played around with Fox Farm chaching with or without VB?

Thanks

FYI RE: Nitrogen

'However, a plant’s tendency to store nutrients increases during the bloom phase. All through flower production, the focus is on building up stores of energy and nutrition for seeds. Thus, too high a dose of nitrogen in densely packed floral tissues leads to predispose blooms to botrytis and thus prone to attack by insects and pest. Also, excessively high nitrogen levels delay maturation by weeks and reduces accumulation of sugar, dipping aroma and flavor. So, keep a check on the concentration of nitrogen through proper measurement and analysis and adjust the levels accordingly for better yields and harvests'.

Calcium carbonate is not readily taken up by our plants as Calcium nitrate or chloride is, and I experienced the same thing too Dansbud, I think the CaliMagic is more suited for use with soil than coco. I bought it because it was 1-0-0 but after checking ppms I found that it was higher at a half dose than a full tsp of Magical or Calmag +

It will be a little bit before even I know how my Sour bubble does with PG. I am experimenting with my more vigorous strains. My Sour Bubble is very finicky, it doesn't take stress of any kind well. I will be taking some SB clones soon and will dedicate a few to science! I will say, the Sour bubble I did with VB looks nice...but is still too green and is not ready to be chopped. My 6/9 SBs finish faster, bit I am stepping the VB down atleast a week prior to flush now. I was trying my Sour Bubble RO see how it compares to GH once the final product Is done. The yield looks like it will be smaller than my GH Sour Bubbes. I was going to chop a VB Sour Bubble tonight, but was way too green and only the tops had any amber. Lower buds had zero amber under scope. I will continue to flush a few more days, she s going way longer than normal. I have another Round of VB plants that I stepped down the feeding strength on sooner than this round. Hopefully it helps. I am done using VB on all of my Plants...except 1. She loves it, and does better than with GH. Other than that 1strain, I see smaller yields on all of my other plants with VB. I have experimented enough with the whole HR line. VB RO works excellent on my one girl...
EZ,
I am experimenting with PG and will share results later. I am also back to trying MaxiGrow on a few plants. I do not veg long, so I am seeing what nute is best for a short veg time. To grow the plants the best that they can in 2 weeks.

Hate to talk about other nute lines in this thread but since I've been running the same couple of strains for a quite a few years now and Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro has them vegging faster than MaxiGro & V+B RO/HD.

What's the quality of your water source? And are you using cal mag?
