Doesn't water quality change this time of year with fresh snowmelts and lots of surface water?? Even with a filter there is still that to be accounted for.

that pump will raise the PH . thats why i don't use one . i throw one in when i'm mixing but it comes out after that . i just give the barrel a quick swish with a piece of PVC every now & then to recirculate it .

V+B reccomends nothing more than a small circulator to keep the mix moving, they say pumps and airstones will not only mess with pH but actually change the "compositions beause they will break up the particles that are ment to stay together...sorry for being so un-technical, but I dont even have a res. V+B did a pretty good interview on ADS a few months back, that where I heard it.

I use tap water too, or RAW Kelp 0-0-1 it's got potassium hydroxide in it. RAW Humic Acid has it too but it's 0-0-4, being in coco I don't want to add too much extra K. A 1/16tsp of the kelp raises my pH by 0.3

Shit Dan, I wish it would raise the ph.
I wouldn't have a problem if it did.
My problem is the ph drops.
i use protekt as a PH up .
i only use PH down once in a blue moon . but Advanced nutes PH up & down are the best i've found . the shits so concentrated it only takes a drop or to adjust the PH unlike GH's crap where you need tsp's of it .

How long does a rez last you? Do you ever see any evidence of the v+b falling out of solution??

pimpin are you adding calmag to your mixes ? if so which brand ? EZrider & i have been going through this & we found that GH's calmag makes the PH fluctuate alot more than Techniflora's brand magical . the Magical seems to keep the PH more stable .

This post explains a lot of shit for me, i been usin the GH forever. gonna switch for sure.

Do you guys supplement cal mag in flower? If so when do you stop?

my 55 gallons last about 10 days or more , there is a very tiny bit of what looks like sand in the bottom by the time the 6 or 7 week flowering period is over & i switch to plain water . thats usually when i clean the rez & fill with plain RO .

i only started using it in flower after your recomendations , & i stop everything but V&B by mid flower .... coco tends to hold onto certian nutes more than others & can build up a toxicity , especially Calcium . have read & been told many times that if your using calmag in coco , that by week 4 , drop the Cal & just add Mag if its needed .
you being in soil could probably go longer with it .

Drain to waste, correct?

Well, I'm going to pull the "stir" pump from my rez, and see how it goes. My "25 gal" rez can really hold ~20gal. The plants go through 6-8gallons/day. I usually top off in the morning and again at night. If you're letting it sit for 10 days, I should be way good. The rez "empties" itself every few days I'm figuring.

Do you know what type of "small circulator".They were referring to?

I just relistened, they said "small circulator" and "mixers", especially mixers. Sorry I cant help. They also said that there is 4 types of calcium in V+B, 1 of them wont fully disolve and thaf is what the sediment is.

FWIW, I have a Sour Bubble and a Strawberry Diesel Kush that have been flushing for about 6 days, but I decreased the feed the last jug before I started flushing these. I notice that they are fading much faster than if you do not decrease the feeding until flush. I had to take them down an move them off to the side to , because I plan on flushing for 10-14 days. The SDK buds are very fat/dense...but look a bit different than with GH. SDK Yellows faster with GH, and the bud structure is different with VB. I will let everyone know they do after harvest. Will see how they contiue to flush. I am more concerned with the final product. MY SDK, yields very well. My Sour Bubble doesnt yield as well, but is high quality and everyone likes it. It isn a slow veggerthe VH booster helped with VB, but my 6/9 Plants grew faster and stretched more. But as I said before...I am looking for quality of end products. I am not growing Sour bubble for it's speed of growing or yield.mmmy pheno goes much longer than BOG claims...mine goes 9-10 weeks. not 8. I will share info on yields and quality once dried and jarred. The Sour Bubble is purpling more with VB vs my GH. my Space Bomb looks amazing, it is yellowing decently now and is bulking up. I wish I had decreased the feeding a full week before flush, but I have to be honest...it looks killer, just needs longer flush. It looks like possibly the nicest Space Bomb I have done ever. It really does well with VB, better than GH by far. GH yields look better on SDK vs VB. The LEDs are not as intense So I can flush longer under them, I have a 600 Watt led and 1000watt HPS in a 4x8! I move my plants to LEDs to Flush, it seems to bring out the trichs nicely and is less stressful vs my -@@ 1000 watt HPS only spots. I also have an ALL LED area. Certain strains excel in LED, while others yield a ton more unde HpS only.I like both, but o
Some strains need more CALMAG with LEDS.
During flush vs 1000 watt HPS , so you can flush longer.

i've been doing the same lately . cutting the feed in half on the last rez before i start flushing . some strains that didn't fade as fast with just plain water feeds for 2 weeks , this extra low dose the week before helped . but then theres strains that the low dose the week before , made them fade to fast & really put a hurting on the plants at finish .
so unless you know your plants & how they fade , the low dose feeds before the plain water feeds can really mess things up & i wouldn't recommend it !
i'd say if anything , leave the feed strength as is untill you start the flush & if they don't fade as well , leave them in untill they do . you might wind up with a bit more amber glands & couch lock buzz , but you won't have that chlorophil taste in them .
it all a matter of preference . :tiphat:

I've found that with Blumats and coco, the residual storage in the media was causing it to take several weeks for the feed to drop off after cutting the feed rate. Now when I cut the feed, I flush the plants and it has sped the process up immensely. This last run, the transition was done in a week and and it looks like it worked fine - we'll see after it cures.
