I'm using the new HD formula in 5 gal fabric pots with promix BX with about 20% chunky perlite added and had the same problems in veg when trying to stay at 1.0-1.4 ec. Using mostly RO water collected from ac n dehumdifiers with 50 ppm tap when needed and getting cal mag symptoms with purple stems. My last feed was at 2.1ec 6.2 ph using HD with +life and some tea mix and it helped some but will take some time to correct in my medium. Growing sour diesel witch are nute hogs and new to hydroponics research products.

Already see your problem overfeeding/salt build up.

2.1ec really dude I use half of that and have perfectly green plants no need for that much you have other problems feeding more isnt the solution.

Your letting the coco dry out too much is my only guess if you had same problems at 1.0ec check runoff ec/ppm levels and get back to us.

i read people were getting shitty tasting buds from running the DC .... dunno personally .

That's funny:biggrin: Other people on here are saying DC improves the taste. You do know certain big ops are growing vegetables with it. Has your lettuce tasted funny lately? We use it at less than 1ml/gal while they use massive amounts and just add however much N and whatever else they need for a complete fertilizer base.

"A new innovative acidic potassium phosphate fertilizer. It dissolves in water to form a very acidic fertilizer solution. It is an ideal source of acidity to correct high pH in irrigation water as well as a source of plant nutrients. Can replace other phosphorus fertilizers such as phosphoric acid, MAP, MKP and urea phosphate.

Free of chloride, sodium and heavy metals. Free of nitrogen allowing the grower to choose the best form of complimentary nitrogen for the crop.

Suitable for all growing systems including hydroponics, peat bags, pots, soil etc. In 25 kg bags." 0-60-20

Day 33 flower, v+b. Even the lower buds are nice and chunky and frosty. Just want to say thanks again to the op for making this thread and making my life a little easier in the garden, very much appreciate it and glad I made the switch. Hope yall had a nice holiday, cheers to the new year :tiphat:

I get a fair amount of sediment in my (drain to waste) res. I'm using the HD formula with RO water. Anyone else getting sediment in their res? Is there a "cure"? It hasn't been a problem yet, but I purge my lines every few days as a preventative measure. I do see a fair amount of sediment in the purged water as well.

Thank you tonatiuh.

My EC has always been between 1.2 and 1.3 during flowering in my ebb n flow system. I'm currently running 1.3 (910ppm) with the +size. I've just been keeping it as simple as I can, I change the res every 2 or 3 weeks and do daily ph/ec adjusted water top offs over the course between res changes. I'm blown away at the ease of v+b, I honestly wasn't expecting such good results but the proof is in the pudding :tiphat:The strain is purple paralysis. It's my first run with this strain but I already love it, can't wait for the harvest :woohoo:

Sorry meant to put 1.8 ec instead of 2.1 but still too high. I didnt experience any burn but will dial it back down to 1.0-1.2 ec after a plain water feed. Will def keep an eye out for salt build up. Not using coco, im using promix peat moss. will check runoff thanks

put the V+B nutrient powder in a sifter/strainer and slowly add the powder to a full reservoir, it should take 5 mins or so to completely add all the powder. if you just dump a scoop full it clumps up at the bottom. if slowly adding a powder to a full res takes to much time buy some water from canna.

My SDK RO vs Dirty test plants are Dried and Jarred for a couple weeks now. I did not weigh them, but yields look close. however....the quality is much different. Which dies not surprise me, I could tell by how the buds looked while flushing, the dirty did not fade much and I flushed for almost 2 weeks. The RO buds are far superior in looks, smell, taste, and effects. I would not use the Dirty with Coco ever again. I have the HD vs 6/9 a few weeks into Veg...and the 6/9 is bigger, but not by much anymore....the HD has tighter nodes. I personally like a little stretch on this plant, so tighter nodes is not what I am wanting fir this plant. anyways, I will be flipping the HD vs 6/9 within a week...I will update after the 1st week flower.

I use an electric blender with wisk attachment, then slowly add V+B

Go to the hardware store and get a grout mixing attachment for your power drill. Man sized mixer!!!! Works well for me.

The sediment DOESN'T form when I mix in the powders. I mix 4 gallons at a time in a bucket, with a small pump in the bottom. The pump keeps the water moving briskly. All the powder dissolves well before it hits the bottom of the bucket. I do add the powder slowly. I do not dump all the powder in at once. In a fresh res, the sediment will begin forming in about 36hrs. I use RO water which reads 0. I asked Chris about it, he say's "it happens some time's" and that it's an "aesthetic nuisance only". It hasn't clogged my blumats yet, but I worry about it. I was wondering if anyone was having a similar experience. Also about possible causes/remedies. Exactly what canna, or their "water" have to do with this, I'm not exactly sure.

i get some sediment when i add the plus size to my RO formula , but it hasn't effected anything in my pumps or lines as of yet & the plants still respond very well to the addition of it . :dunno:

I was getting sediment using just the RO formula. I get a little more sediment with the HD formula. I haven't noticed any extra sediment from adding the +life or +size. The sediment doesn't affect my pumps either, I'm mostly worried about the 3mm feeder lines on my blumats. I guess I'm just going to live with the sediment, regularly purge the lines, and hope for the best. V+B is so easy to use, I'm willing to put up with a little nonsense. Hopefully, I'll see results similar to some I've seen here.:tiphat:

i hear ya about the blumats & the 3mm lines .... thats kinda why i got away from them & went with pumps & drip stakes . bigger lines .....

I'm going to try a filter bag next time I clean my res. Hopefully this will confine the sediment to the lower res, and away from my feed lines. I'll let you know. So far, the only clog in the 3mm has been from roots growing up the line. If I have any real issues, I'll install canister filters on the feed lines. Chris says it's an "aesthetic nuisance" only. Maybe I'll send him a water sample if it bothers me enough. I would like to know what is going on. Anyone know what he charges for water analysis?
