Thanks, for the good vibes and sharing the beautiful early flowering picture. It's got more budding going than mine. It looks two weeks farther along.

great subject and some really nice picture and a intresting read, i am lucky to live in South Africa and to have experienced the wide range of landrace sativa that litter our countryside.

Hi DigitalDank,

What a beautiful plant:

Have you tried what is being called Ciskei? I would love to hear a smoke report from you.

They have lemon, menthol, licorice aromas all in different proportions in the three different plants I am growing. One is super lemony, one has a spicy medicinal licorice that is dominant and gives it a mean smell. The third is somewhere in between. The real lemony one is starting to flower first. I'm surprised how early that is. I'm at 42 degrees north.

Here are some pictures of the really mean smelling one:

I'm hoping for an energetic "electric eel" energy with an up, cerebral, and trippy high.

Thanks,

That view looks so beautiful and familiar, exactly like friend of friends place I visited in 1990 and again 1998.

Hi my friend I dont get envious very often but that has to be a magic cross.
Tangwena
me2. he's got that awesome pencil stick looking Durban. that is a very interesting hybrid.

subrovka , which Malawi? soa? ace? other? ace's psycho frosty mum or soa mandingo would both be exciting potential wise.

unless it's afropips or marlberry ( not familiar with their Malawi hybrids) it looks to be Durban dominate looks department. appearances can be deceiving.... that's why we gro 'em out and smoke 'em. only real way to find out. outdoors I bet that hybrid would get huge. both parents probably very hardy outdoors.

electric pyscho funkadelic. :)

nice to hear you guys like it! it´s a ACE malawi mum crossed to a CBG Durban male. dubi said the malawi mother I used for this cross looks a lot like the killer malawi., here´s a picture of her

and that´s the durban father

I use to keep the males pretty small in 1L pots due to space issues, but more then enough pollen anyways..you can see the similaritys in the structure, big frosty Malawi calyxes on a long and spiky shaped Durban cola

..she smells just amazing, it´s really something like Malawi with Durban nose like MAHA KALA said and some woody oily scents.
this woody/oily/leathery undertone mixed with a sweet lemon scent kind of reminds me of the smell inside a new car. When I touch her with the tip of my nose by smelling on her, the odor lasts for a couple of minutes and stays in my nose..lovely!

That is going to be a very interesting plant my friend. That cross is something I would like to have in my hands. You are a very lucky guy, the high should be electric Aces Malawi needs that kick in my opinion.

^subrovka

^ that is an interesting post because ace's Malawi is usually dominant in crosses ( for me and from what I've read). appearance wise kaiki's Durban looks to be dom in this particular pheno in this particular cross. the terps sound like a real nice blend with both parents contributing.

ppl will be using kaiki's Durban in quite a few hybrids if she smokes anywhere as good as she looks. this hybrid might give some peeps a little indication of what they might expect.

looking forward very much to smoke reports on cbg Durban and ace Malawi/ cbg Durban. :)

..appreciate your comments and opinions on her dudes! ..the durban male also seems to lower the flower time, cause I have 11 Malawi F2 seedlings at exact the same day under 12/12 and there´s not one particular plant which is so far developed like maria#1. you can see this growth pattern also in the cbg durban, it bulks up pretty early (for it´s NLD) but then the buds will ripen pretty slowly and get bigger and bigger up to 16+ weeks with some phenos..
Now I have also some Malana x Durban growing 12/12 fs, which is something I´m really excited of. And I´m gonna make a bigger selection round of Malawi x Durban soon, got different lines also with a more fruity malawi mother and also gonna check what´s to find in Durban (f) x Malawi..gonna be thrilling  maybe I make a diary but first I need to clear up some space..
smoke report will follow soon!:tiphat:

ps. close-up day 56:

Wow!

Subrovka - Those are some fine looking sugar sticks. I hope you have grabbed a cutting for future breeding. I could stare at those pictures longer than I care to admit. Bud porn is an apt phrase here. I hope they have a high that is thrilling and positive. I'll be waiting for your report.
