Greetings Friends!
Before I get to the updates and visitor questions, I would like to take just a moment and thank Dutchgrown for helping me with my gallery issue, thank you DG! I can upload once again... :woohoo:

Next up... visitors!

immortal - crowded indeed! The stretch is on, and I am constantly having to rethink and tweak placement of the ladies to be sure they receive optimum light. This is my least favorite time of the grow, as there is so much work in moving them around for proper placement and trimming the lower branches. It's definitely a forest in there, the plants are now well over my head when I am sitting...

Sleepy - Glad you found the cloner information helpful, in just a moment I'll finish that cloner topic off by showing the results! To answer your other question... yes, the oldest plants were vegged for about 60 days. Should make for some big ass buds!

ilcstoning - Thanks, glad you are enjoying the show! This Grow 7 is by far the most variety I have had in a single grow, we have sativa, indica, and some of both... can't wait for those buds!

Budgrinder - Green is indeed beautiful, but I hope to have some other colors going when we get further into flower. I have not grown anything purple or with any exotic colors... I've got my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for this grow! :biglaugh:

natefrog - Actually, I mist the plants with a hand sprayer during their veg cycle, but only with plain water. It's not foliar feeding per se, I do it more to keep the humidity levels up when they are young as they are grown in an air conditioned environment. Once they get older and transpire more, the humidity levels stay high enough that I only mist them maybe once or twice a week.

Well Gang it's time to close out the bubble cloner pictorial with a few pictures of the ending results. I am very happy with the bubble cloner's progress, so far this method is the easiest way to propogate clones I have ever done!

Here's a peek inside the cloner after 10 days of bubblin':

Wow... once they start, those roots grow damned quick! Six of the cuttings had produced roots, making them officially the first clones successfully made in my little bubbler contraption. The others are still looking good, however there are no roots yet. I was able to easily pull the roots up through the tubing that acts as the holder, here's a nice shot of a new clone ready to go into the soil:

Mind you, I have never had to transplant a new clone that wasn't in either a Rapid Rooter or soil pot, but I have enough common sense to know to make a large enough hole to accomodate the entire root without bending the fragile new root tips.

Holding the clone in place I gently filled in the hole, tamping down lightly to hold the clone in place. A light watering to settle the soil around the roots is the last step before putting the new clone under some cfl's:

The rooted clones are doing great, and I did not use any type of dome, nor did I have to mist them during the entire process. All I did was cut, insert, and wait... I LOVE IT! :yummy:

I took cuttings yesterday of each of the gals, and notated each type in the numbered position in the cloner. I made 28 clonesites on the second bubbler, and filled it to capacity. Looking at them today, you would think they were still a part of the plant, they stand so tall and erect. I highly recommend the bubble cloner method to anyone who wants a no muss, no fuss method of making backup copies of your favorite plants!

Hey southernsmoker  Haven't had a chance to drop into your thread lately, but last I did you were putting that new camera to great use... Nice job! Thanks for the kind words, things are progressing well so far. Today was actually the first day I noticed a change in the bud structure of the plants... they are starting to turn!

Hi Budgrinder! I think we might get some colors this time around, I can see several shades of green with darker shades of blue in some of the leaves. I'm hoping the BMR gal will give me some blues or purps, but as you say, time will tell!

As I mentioned earlier, today I noticed the plants starting to change bud structure, with a definite thickening of the bud and increased formation of calyx. They have now been under a 12/12 light cycle for the past 7 days, and have stretched an average of 6 inches or so. It's definitely a forest in there, I could have sworn I saw a little girl in a red cape walking though it earlier! :biglaugh:

The canopy is starting to fill in nicely, no need for a screen here. It's a nice mix of strains and crosses, and I am looking forward to some "forest of bud" shots. You can see the influence from the Sour Bubble in many of the plants with their Boggishly big stems and fan leaves:

Today the gals received their first feeding of Pure Blend Pro Bloom, with just a dash of Superthrive. So far I have been giving them a feeding every 3 days, using roughly a half gallon of water per plant. My credo is "less is more", I try not to give the plants too much of anything. Their next feeding will be just plain water... but I haven't heard them complain yet.

Now, Go Out and Grow One for the Gipper!

Thanks Sunny, the Heaven's Horn was a Blue Heaven x White Rhino cross done by Biff and Gorgo from over at Overgrow. I revceived a few seeds from Weeweeman, and had two females, one a Blue Heaven dominant and the other leaning more towards the White Rhino. The WR pheno is my favorite, and is the most powerful herb in my bud cellar. Here's a little pic of one of her buds at harvest. Be sure to click on the image for a closer look!

Well Howdy Gang!
I see we've had lots of visitors to the Bud Shack the past few days, always nice to have Master BOG stop in, especially since the majority of this grow is of crosses done with his Sour Bubble 1BX. Today, I thought we would take a closer look at these "Bastard Children of BOG ".

BMR

This pretty lady is pure BOG, a virgin Blue Moon Rocks gal grown from seed. As is typical with BOG's genetics, she has a strong sturdy stem from which emerge large, lush fan leaves of the typical broad leaf indica pattern. She was topped after 30 days of veg, and was just over 60 days old when put into flower mode. Stretching has been no issue, and the plant has shown consistent growth throughout, as evidenced by the light green coloration of new growth. The picture above was taken on Day 12 of Flower, and you might be able to notice the changing bud structure with a marked increase in pistils. The shot below is a closer look at her baby buds from Day 11 of Flower:

Sour Bubble 1BX In-Cross

This next plant is as close to being BOG as you can get... without actually coming from the Master's garden. It's the product of a male and female SB 1BX grown from seeds that Ol' Bushy was kind enough to send me, and remains very true to it's parents in body shape with extremely large fan leaves and upward branching. This plant was not topped... unfortunately. To truly get the best possible yield from the indica heavy crosses that make up the "BOG collective" you really need to top or FIM the plant... Resistance Is Futile! Vegging the plants longer seemed to help all of the gals, especially this one. She was flowered after roughly 45 days of veg, and combined with the stretch she has opened up nicely with plenty of light reaching the inner branches. In a perfect world I would have topped her after 30 days and vegged her for 30 more before switching to flower mode.

Monster Bubble (Jock Horror x Sour Bubble 1BX)

I have several of these JH x SB crosses I call Monster Bubble. These are truly scary plants, and the union of the JH abd SB produced a few mutants with flattened and curved stems somewhat reminiscent of a pitcher plant. One of them was even possesed and had strange markings on its stem that resembled writing. I was tempted to sell it on eBay as the "Possesed Pot Plant" and make a million dollars selling it to the Golden Palace Casino, but alas, I regained sanity and tossed them... no loss though, the little freaks were males! :bat:

All of the girls leaned towards their dad, with the body structure indicative of the SB 1BX, thick main stem, large leaves and upward branching. However, the addition of the Jock genes did add some outward branching to the mix, and I can see this plant topped as being a heavy yielder. Speaking of heavy yielders, take a look at this next gal!

Sour Gum (Bubblegum x Sour Bubble 1BX)

A cross done by my good friend in weed Weeweeman, the Sour Gum takes the Sour Bubble back to it's sweet, gummy roots and I am quite impressed with the combination. Of the three gals I have, they all look almost identical, except for one in the picture above who has just exploded with growth during the stretch. She stands 6' tall in her container, and takes up an entire corner of the grow room. She was also topped around 30 days, with an additional 30 days of veg for good measure. This plant is going to have some monster buds, I'll be keeping my eye on this one!

The other two Sour Gums look like the one in the pic above, just absolutely gorgeous plants! The shots above were taken on Day 12 of Flower.

Big Sour (BGxBCBB x Sour Bubble 1BX)

Another of Weeweeman's crosses, this time we have a BubbleGum x BC Big Bud mated with a Sour Bubble 1BX. As you can see from the photo above, they are exactly the same in height, build, and color, and both were topped like the others in the first round, and vegged for a total of 60 days. These plants will be heavy yielders as well, their branches are already getting thick with growth. Picture above taken on Day 12 of Flower.

Lifesaver x Sour Bubble 1BX

There is just one more bastard BOG left to show you, the not-so-little waif without a name, my version of the Lifesaver x Sour Bubble. There is not a whole lot of the Sour Bubble visible in this one, with the entire plant looking more sativa than indica. Branching is great with medium stretching, and if I didn't know better I would say had more c99 in her than Sour Bubble. Well, problem is I don't know better, as I had two Lifesaver gals, one I crossed with Sour Bubble and the other with BOG's Super Sweet Cindy. I could have made a mistake and switched seeds, then again maybe I didn't. Then again... maybe none of this is real and I am just dreaming! :chin:

That's all I have time for tonight... except to say THANKS! to all of the visitors who stop by, your kind words are an inspiration and just make me feel warm and tingly all over... or perhaps it's the massage chair I'm in; but either way, I am truly humbled and it just plain feels good. The great part of places like ICMAG and Overgrow is that one can interact with other like minded individuals with a greatly lessened risk of discovery. Too many times have I read or heard about someone being busted for growing due to a tip, or from a "friend", or ex partner/wife/girlfriend/relative. Thank God for you folks, or I'd bust a gut trying to keep this a secret!

A shout out to BOG, Crazy Composer, Weeweeman, LadyOlive, ilcstoning, guineapig, and mosess187 - thanks for stopping by and for the very kind words, you definitely made my day! And mosess187 - you might want to check out Overgrow's GrowFaq section, I think they may have the answers you seek!

More Later,
Abby

nate- ill try and do my best. First off what you gotta realize is there is this distinctive taste that deemed "Sour Bubble." Its very unique, pervasive, and incredibly tasty. Its somethin like a lime sweetness with some other tangent in there. Its VERY hard to explain, but once youve smoked it once, you will never forget. My 4 girls all had to some varying degree the same underlying taste The best out of the tasted amazing down to the cash hit. Not very good yielder, but the potentcy and taste more than make up for it. I grew out the first BX....... ide recommend it anyday.

It's a jungle...

It's a jungle...

Greetings All!
I had to leave rather unexpectedly for a 2 day business trip, and when I returned I found a jungle where the Flower Room used to be. Lions and Tigers and Buds... Oh My! The Big Cindy's will have to be renamed to the Really Tall & Ever-Stretching Cindy's... they are now taller than the lights and had to be moved to the middle row between the two lights so they wouldn't burn. The smallest Big Cindy is now the largest, and she has easily doubled in size to over 7' tall during stretch. Take a look for yourself:

The lights are raised as far as they will go, so it looks like these gals will have to go without light on their tops - although I may try going with just the bulb and no reflector on the "tall side". Here's a quick peek at the really big kids:

Looking at the picture above, the Big Cindy is on the bottom right, the far front left is a c99 x Ice, between the two is a Monster Bubble (JH x SB). In the background are the Sour Gums, one of which stretched a pretty fair bit. Here's a better look at one of the three Sour Gum (BG x SB) gals:

Sour Gum 18 Days Flower

As you can see, just a fair bit of stretching, but the buds are really coming on strong, almost taking up the entire branch. This is definitely one to watch, it should have some MONSTER buds! All of the Sour Gums are very uniform in appearance, all are indica dominant, and all were topped while in veg. Again, one of the gals stretched a good 12-20", almost outgrowing the light. Bud development is almost on par with the sativa dominant cindy crosses such as the Big Cindy, although the sativa doms are a bit further along as you can see below:

Big Cindy (BGxBCBB x SB)

Under the other light, the more indica dom plants are doing well, and the stretch is much more controlled. Here's a shot of the right side of the Flower Room:

Looking at the picture above, the Big Cindy's are on the left side, with the last plant in the back on that left side row a c99xIce. In the middle front we have another Monster Bubble, a Sour Bubble 1BX incross to its right, and another Monster Bubble on the far right. In the next row back, (middle section) is the Lifesaver x Sour Bubble cross, to its right is the Blue Moon Rocks, and in the last row behind them are the Big Sours (BGxBCBB x SB). Here's some closeups for your viewing pleasure:

Lifesaver x Sour Bubble @ 18 Days Flower

Lifesaver x Sour Bubble @ 18 Days Flower

Monster Bubble (JH x SB)

Blue Moon Rocks

Things are happening rapidly... and I am very pleased with the growth rate for only 18 days of flower. Here's where it get's fun! :woohoo:

A quick shout out to my latest visitors here at the Bud Shack:

aTm - Sorry, I don't have a picture of my equipment, and to be honest there really isn't anything to see but a camera and flash. I don't even use a tripod. It's a Nikon D100 body with a Sigma 24-70 2.8 zoom lens and SB-80DX Speedlight. I don't use anything else... except maybe a little doobie for inspiration! :joint:

OHenry - Thanks O! I have 15 lovely ladies in Flower right now, which is maybe 5 or 6 too many considering their size. But I like to think of my little jungle as a sea of green without the screen! :yummy:

natefrog - Hello Nate, I would best describe the Sour Bubble aroma as very much like Lemon Pledge, the furniture spray polish, with a comparable sour lemon taste. I really should get to making some smoke reports... thanks for reminding me!

bartender187 - I agree, the yield on the Sour Bubble 1BX was very poor, the plant has to be topped to achieve even average yields, but the buds themselves are top notch. That's why it is a main component of most crosses here in this current Bud Shack grow! :canabis:

Thanks for stopping by The Bud Shack everyone!
