Bringing I-HOP into Jaundice

Bringing I-HOP into Jaundice

^ This branch off the Jaundice f2 expression #3 was pollinated with the stinky I-HOP Satellite male. I'm calling the cross Mondo Bondo.

Jaundice = Bogbubble X Chem DD

I-HOP Satellite = SCreme'N Dawg f2 X Blue Satellite 2.2

Looking at:

Bubblegum, Strawberry, Grapefruit, Blueberry, Chem, and Sour making up this cross..

* Got stuck with a Yucca spear a couple days ago...hit me through my shoe....right on the bone around the pinky toe...on the left foot. The time on my feet...on the PCT yesterday irritated it..bruised it up..and now it's dishing out some discomfort

another one of those annoying hurts that are all a part of the trail running affliction..

hurt like hell this morning when I got up to put weight on it.

so now...

the sprain in my right foot has been mellow the last couple runs..but now...the left foot is aggravated.

Typical shit

Fuck diamonds give me rust.

Fuck diamonds give me rust.

Just found my copy of this within the last year. Original press. Emaculate Vinyl. Very Fine Cover or better..and all at a price Neil could be proud of..but then I don't buy them for musem piece. My aim is to wear the shine of that bastid w/ the stylus.

The shoppe knew what they had...The Raven is just cool like that.

This song has alot of personal meaning for me, but Rick's guitar always seemed like his homage to 'Cortez'.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToSrzGcrQdI

Whaddya think?

"Don't hedge your bets"

:tiphat:

I can hear that.

I've been going on You Tube and listening to "Stoner Doom Metal" channels...

bands like "Bongripper" "Dope Throne" etc etc...

some of these bands put out new music every 6 months...waves of new music. Great background stuff

I was up late...be at home all day trimming and doing chores around here. Wife is on the beach today and tonight...have the place to myself

* pollinating a couple SZSK f2 girls...this morning...making the f3

after getting the road bike my legs were finally clear of the gazillion little scratches and pedal love bites...a couple days on the trail changed that...musta taken a pedal to the back of my right calf,a bit bruised and chewed today....but we may get more rain this week, that means hero dirt on the trails..been trying to not spend so much time chasing strava records...but you know, going fast is fun...trying to focus on riding smoothly though, and efficiently....all that lactic acid threshold stuff is better in the cooler months, its getting too hot to muck around like that...trying to avoid barely getting home before the dehydration cramps start this summer...

I won't let myself on Strava....I attempt to not even look at Ultra Sign Up....or read too many ultra runner blogs...because I don't want to chance being pushed into competition at all times...especially during training. I've witnessed (the other day for example...the girl that melted)...already...too many runners being influenced by what others are doing or have done. I even avoid training conversations. There are a lot of egos out there.

I know...for a fact...that other racers check my race schedule. I've been told by some of those who do it. Somebody is always watching.

Last week I was made an official ambassador for a company...had a sit down...face to face..meeting...and told what I needed to do:

* I was told that all I had to do was run. My wife will do much of the promotional stuff while I'm racing.

** Given my own promo code for when I move product...the customer gets a discount and I get a % of the sale

*** Told I would have a place to stay in Big Bear if I choose to run the Kodiak 100M in September (I will race that)...which is good...because Big Bear is an expensive place to stay. Waiting to see if they will pay entrance fee.

**** yeah...getting hats/shirts....free product. I'll fly the brand while racing.

so...you know...once you start getting kick downs..people become more interested in you and what you are doing.

Lord knows I'm not the fastest...but in the Ultra scene I have a look that sticks out...and I'm willing to lay it out (death before dishonor)..and do it..with a good attitude. It's a sport full of freaks.

that gets positive attention...which turns into...positive results...which has started turning into....getting respect and support

This is my 2nd year of racing. The rookie year was just to break me in....and nobody knew who I was...but it's different now days. I'm in good standings...and making a lot of connections and friends.

I told the company that is supporting me...I'd race any distance...go wherever...put in the work...put on a show

* Some day...hopefully not far away...I want to run mountain trails all the way through Baja California, Mexico. I'd like to document it and be supported the entire way. Mexico has one of the best running cultures in all the world. I race with Mexican runners all the time....absolutely some of the most positive and supportive people I've ever competed with. I love Mex...love the culture and the peeps

My goal in all things...is to make the lifestyle I live...pay for itself. I have visions....many of them.

SZSK f2 pollinations of the day

SZSK f2 pollinations of the day

^ These plants are on day 32. I usually pollinate most expressions on day 28....but I've been too busy to get to these. Expression #4 is on the left and expression #1 is on the right. They are different. Expression #1 will lean to the Skunk #1....I can smell her fruitiness already....#4 is different...this one might be influenced by the Chem DD. So...you are looking at a couple mothers to the f3 generation.

^ #4 flower

^ #1 flower. I can see the differences.

* I have more Skunk Jones and SZSK f2 pollinations to do this week. There is some variety in the populations.

^ I-HOP Satellite expressions #2. She is flushing on day 46...partially pollinated to make the f2 generation...but not cloned because she was way slow in veg. Great in flower though.

This girl reeks like funky berry...with grapefruit over the top. Like candy.

^ My pain in the ass. The clone I call Plenty...on day 62...over 6' tall..I somehow...managed to drag her floppy ass out of the flower studio...so I can keep her flushing in the adjacent room...under different lighting and temps.

I swear...if this girl didn't produce some of the best running herb I've ever had...overall...some of the best herb I've ever had...she would get culled. Super sensitive....super vigorous in all phases..super flimsy/floppy...super light yielding...just an all round difficult plant to work with and afford to grow

I fucking love this herb though. The hash she makes is insane.

Easy Mox Trilogy (in this case) = Mox Mox X Purple Bastard Haze f2

Mox Mox = Chem DD X TFlux

TFlux = Original Flo X Chem DD

^ Left to Right: SZSK f2 expression #3, I-HOP Satellite expression #2, and Plenty. All flushing...

You can see the differences in the sizes of plants I grow. The SZSK and the I-HOP are on inverted milk crates...whilst...the Plenty plant sits on the floor....and still....there is a big difference in height and size. If I didn't have, Plenty wired to the cabinet behind her....she'd snap her stock or flop her stock over to the ground. No way she stands on her own.

lol, well i aint gettin no free bike stuff from surly! i guess i got some stickers and an iron on patch, but that hardly counts after 6 bikes...

i got on strava mainly because i wanted some accurate picture of my yearly total mileage,i never saw myself as being one of the "fast guys"...that just started happening as my fitness increased but more importantly my confidence handling the bike...but i have noticed that since i started giving the rides goofy titles that some people have started doing the same..and when i started getting top tens on obscure segments that all of a sudden people started riding them more frequently...so i dunno if thats just my ego saying people are watching or if they actually are...

Nah, man...I know how it works....somebody is checking on you. I've come to learn that people have a hard time not checking out what other people are doing. In my sport...there are a lot of obsessive personalities...and doubt that it's much different in your sport..in that regard.

The other day more than one person asked me what my race strategy for the SD 100M was going to be...and how I was training.

I told them I was just winging the 100...no set plan...and winging the training...no set agenda. Told them I was organizing my gear (drop bags) at two aid stations..but other than that:

When the race starts...I'll just run..fuel...and become mindless. If it all works out....I'll enter through a curtain...and ride in the portal that spits me out after 100 miles.

You see? When you give answers like that....people remember you. If you back it up...they respect you and your ways..

and if you laugh while saying it...it goes a long ways in chilling out any seriousness..and...best of all...it keeps them guessing

The ego....I attempt to keep in perspective. I've been humbled more times than a thousand on the trails. I ain't shit

I doubt you suck that bad...modest man.

As I sit here...drinking a green juice...loaded with company products..procrastinating on the trimming (but hey...I picked up all the dog shit)

I realize...

I'm not a planner. I mean I don't enjoy planning shit out. I can be logistical minded...but I don't enjoy it at all. Some people get off on their plans..but not me

I'm a doer...not a planner. I have my wife to thank for aiming my drive in the directions it needs to go. She's a planner...and business minded....an organizer. I don't think I would be racing if she hadn't told me I should be doing it. I remember when I wasn't interested at all in racing. Denounced it..maybe..perhaps.

Me...I just keep repeating abstract shit..like.."I just have to keep running, baby...I don't know why...but I just have to" .....got to do this got to do that..same processes every time...drill it drill it..keep pushing forward..live off gut instinct..no faith..no beliefs....follow only..the inner compass

I trust myself to be honest. I really am getting good at staying in the present.

these races....a 100 miles of running mountains...you can't predict that shit. Too many variables....too much can happen in that distance. All the planning in the world offers me no promises...no relief from pain or from suffering...no comfort...nothing...none of that. It's a step...and a breath at a time. It's all it can be.

no matter how much you plan...the moment comes (is always upon us) when you face your own lack of control. You are either good with it...or you are not. You have to deal either way. That's a major wall in life....a big one to approach...comprehend..accept...and blow through

Skunk Jones expression #4

Skunk Jones expression #4

^ Skunk Jones expression #4...day 28...partially pollinated to make the f2. This is one of those stouter versions...not a big stretcher like the other two sisters I pollinated last week. Covering the bases...so to speak.

Skunk Jones = SZSK f2 X Casey Jones f2

SZSK = Skunk #1 X Chem DD

^ This is where we are on the Cinderella DD and Dominion

Dominion = Chem DD X Killer Chemdog

Cinderella DD = Chem DD X C99BX

as per plan....things are

growing...flowering..vegging...breeding..harvesting

Morning Juice

Morning Juice

^ What you see here is Swiss Chard being allowed to flower and go to seed...and one of my peppermint patches coming into season.

* That Chard patch...you can see..that I've been cutting a lot of leaves off for my juicer. This patch grows all spring...totally on its own..reseeds itself..replants itself...but when the heat of summer comes it dies off and I then grow tomatoes in this spot. Some of it hangs along the fence line where it gets shade..but for the most part I only harvest out of the patch in the spring.

** I have peppermint and spearmint patches in several different locations. Love the stuff.

^ Here's a juice about to grind....swiss chard, peppermint, canned coconut milk, pineapple, water, and 3 different product powders.

* I'm back to training. I didn't run the last 3 days so that I could give my sore left foot (the yucca foot) some time off from getting bashed on rocks. Back out this afternoon.

** I got a couple e-mails from the SD 100M race director last night. Some girl with my wife's 1st name...had e-mailed him saying she was dropping out of the race. He misread it....and thought that it was my wife e-mailing him saying that I was dropping.

So he sent me an e-mail to confirm that I was dropping...then when he realized his mistake he sent me another e-mail minutes after the 1st one...saying to disregard the previous one.

I'm like..."are you mind fucking me".........

Little shit like that....whereas...it doesn't seem like a big deal (and it really isn't)...can have perverse effects on mind set. It could be taken as ominous sign.

but...you know..

fuck that....it rolls right off me. I kind of like it
