A Taste of Africa from Malawi

I have a pack of malawi fems from about 5 years ago or so. The long flowering time has prevented me from jumping into them just yet and I have also contemplated running them 12/12 from seed. Seeing the plant above looking about ready at 9 weeks has certainly intrigued me. What are you folks seeing with flower times?

Hi Bmac1,

MadMac's reply is quite accurate. Fastest Malawi phenos can be harvested in 10 weeks.
Give Malawi a try before your seeds get too old! If you want to try a very strong african sativa that yields very high then you will find interesting our Malawi.

Awesome thread! Malawi already stood on my wish list when I started reading the whole thread. Now I'm eager to give them a try.

@Dubi, what are the current breeding lines? After all I'm interested the most in the OKM pheno. Can I still find it in the reg pack? And waht do you think abbout the current ratio? One of 10? 2 of ten?

BTW it's great how you care for your customers and all sativa lovers!

Welcome Hogni,

Thanks for your kind words and for your interest in our Malawi.
All our Malawi releases, regular and fem (except for the other lines in Malawi Breeders Pack) always contain Old Malawi Killer as one of the parental plants.

Malawi fem version is the more consistent version if you are looking for higher frequency of best Killer Malawi ratios. You will easily find several killer phenos exploring 10 fem seeds.

Hope it help! dubi

Hi everyone!!
Guess I read somewhere that there is a Malawi pheno which produce small plants. Is it true? One of the two I growing now looks so but very nice indeed. The other one is becoming huge. Both are planted at same time. They did not show yet any preflower that I could say it is male or fem.

Hi Karra,

Our Malawi has moderate node length even in early flowering stretching, which makes easier to keep her under control indoors. Although it still has plenty of vigor for an inbred line so under proper growing conditions she can grow real big. Plants with different sizes still can be found in this Malawi population. Good luck with yours! :)

dubi can you tell us the cannabinoid and terpene analysis for old killer Malawi. do you think the thc for new killer Malawi could be a few points higher under better growing conditions? just trying to compare old killer Malawi with new killer Malawi.

Hi MrFecund,

Yes, i believe the THC content of both Old Killer Malawi and New Killer Malawi are between 25-30 % range if they are perfectly grown, which was not the case of the NKM analysis we posted, hope to post newer Malawi analysis when we have the chance.

first malawis, love them

first malawis, love them

This are my two of three Malawis (third is awaiting in the fridge) that Ace's guys kindly sent me. Thanks very much, really apreciated. I could choose another strain but, recently grew some Zamaldelicas and Golden Tiger, prefered to give a try a more pure strain which is part of genetic pool from those strains. Sowed on 22 march, the female was always quite lazy but we are not in a hurry so, sweety girl, take your time!
The male was a beast and a nice flowering guy and now I reduced him to the minimun; don't want at the moment any accident with the other girls. I would like to get some pollen from him, but also thinking to experiment with him rooted stem in order to graft some cuts. Never did it before and really don´t know if it is a waste of time.

The male now

I am wondering if i cut the principal fem stem, could I graft it in the male :dunno: . I am going to cut it anyway to get more lateral branches. Thinking to harvest her in end of october
or mid november.

Can´t edit yet :) :)
The small baby bath tub is where the worms are hardly working. and some liquid humus is dropping on the ground near the malawi base with lots of creatures walking around and under.

Can't hurt to try your grafting experiment, good luck with it :)

hi, they are clones from malawi fem seedlings (from the outdoor garden), 6+ weeks (last picture)

they are really vigorous, about 6 stretched (but just little) of 18. it seems it's a pretty homogenous batch, already showing a pleasing smell. it's a clone selection that's happening they are all tagged to see how they perform. the hydro setup is homemade as you can see and i'm happy to see that them ladies eat their food properly and grow pretty much happily in that homemade shizzle

these are malawis in the hidden garden

Does Malawi work without UVB? I've been wanting to grow a strong sativa, but since I only have LEDs now I don't know if I should bother. The whole point is THC-V, right?

Hi GET MO,

Crazy foxtailed flower structure on your Malawi :)
These kind of flower structures are very rare nowadays in Malawi line since i bred her towards Killer Malawi dense floral structures.

My Goddess, you always find the rarest phenos in our strains ;)
