a ppk for a 6 plant limit

D9 thank you Sir. Guess I should've waited or at least checked this thread before asking nearly the same question in Snook's. My apologies Snook. Get caught up reading a thread and it's hard not to finish it. Glad it was only 11 pages long.

I'm in a 4.5'x4.5'x7' tent. I can take my lights up to within 5" of the frame bars. I've been pondering hanging my bars vertically for a tent style ppk tree. That'll be a future tent all to itself. Still have one more light to build for this current tent.

no apologies necessary cob.. i'm using 4 gallon sterilite tubs, each is 7 inches high, stacked, 14".. and due to its rectangular shape and previously clogging tailpipes, 2, 1.5" wicks for the first time. haven't had any clogging but current plants not big enough to have enough roots to clog them. BTW, I found a few mor inches of height by putting a couple small (???24") 2"x4"s on edge above the roof poles, this will take up the slack in the roof forming a slight dome for heat to gather in... face the open end of them towards the exhaust opening. I went further and cut a hole in the plywood and top of the tent, stuck the exhaust fan in there, this way I could hang the light from the piece of plywood and get the light almost up against the roof poles.

i currently live in a place that has a 6 plant limit per medical card. but the law stipulates that all plants over 12" go towards this limit.

so you can still grow a million ruderalis then?

hi sadpanda! since this thread started the law has changed. we no longer have a 12" rule. the new law defines a "mature" plant as any plant in flower instead of any plant over 12"

this is in oregon!

i know you were being facetious but ruderalis containing thc would be a controlled plant and subject to the same count limits.

Thanks Snook, the only thing limiting me from hanging my lights flush is the hanging cord and the ratcheting hook/clamps themselves. I really don't need all THAT vertical space yet. Was just saying if the ppk grows my girls too big too fast, I can manage. Right now I have 3.5'-4'girls going with 2' feet of headroom above my lights. Trying to picture your description of the 2x4 placement. Green Crack dabs don't have the neurons firing correctly. Peace.

awwww! we miss you too DH! sitting in the corner drooling and farting with that crooked little grin on your face.

really it's all the same concept. the basic principles of operation haven't changed in 7 years. we are trying different plumbing approaches. done away with bulkhead fittings by using neoprene rubber garden hose pushed through slightly undersized holes. connecting the hose with push barb fittings. it all just snaps together with no glues.

people growing larger plants are still using the 7 gal tuff tubs that hold 5 gals of media on top of a 3.5 gal bucket. a 3" pvc tailpiece.

i've been playing around with slow continuous movement of solution through the containers to get a homogenous solution at all sites. a small 185gph pump on 24/7 works fine.

individual small pumps at each plant site going to halos guarantee equal delivery and are fired by repeat cycle timers.

very few people are still using the full flood technique as it is more difficult to achieve than the pulsed method.

i don't have any drawings or pics of the plumbing experiments yet but they are coming soon.

So quick question before buying these ballasts. Some of u mention DE lightning, from reading it is gravita, CMH. Do these really out perform digital? I was thinking about getting one which was be place in the middle of 4 site if it perform well.

This is me striking ppk gold! I think I may have found a 1 plant ppk system to emulate. Although rather handy at diy,I have a hard time with the IDEA part of the setup. Couldn't wrap my head around a way to do a 1 maybe 2 plant setup that wouldn't infringe on my current perpetual run,but is upgradeable in the even that I switch my system over. You can either drill holes in a hose and make your own ring or buy them from hydroflow. I buy them now.

Preach it! This is the proof of concept right here. I have 6 of these exact rooms and they kill it. I just add more 4 plant rooms when I expand each time. But to build two more next month.
