What up CO? ppk 2 cent definition is its a recirculating hydro system that reduces the perched water table that features wicking with recirculation, giving u several options to control watering frequency. air gap between wick/drain helps control the hydraulic effect making sure that if pump failure occurs or u r slightly under watering the plant can suck up what it needs. If the plant is staying to wet u can drop the water level giving a bigger air gap thus reducing the moisture level in the medium, along with ur pump watering options. If u have pump failure the wicking action can keep the plant alive for a longer period of time vs just rdwc does. Also no issues with water temps like in rdwc cause ur growing ur root mass in the pot, not in the water.
Appreciate the response. running about 58-65% rh untill mid flower then i start to lower to the 50's, then 40's later. What do think is to low of an rh during mid late flower??
I presume that leaf tips cannot be " repaired " by the the plant so all one can do is prevent the tips from continuing to work there way in? correct?

in an ideal world using vpd principles straight up would be great for overall growth throughout the life of the plant but pandora opened that nasty little box and we have to live with the results.
so i think that 55% +/- 5% is a great compromise rh when factoring in pm and bud rot against yield in late flower.
higher in that range lights on and lower lights off. maybe a little below 50% depending on where you live because of spore count.
on the leaf tip question you cannot repair the damaged tip. but if it is prolific maybe you want to pop off the worst leaves just to make spotting a recurrence easier. or cut the tips off existing leaves to better observe emerging leaves for comparison.
i don't let a little tip burn concern me too much. depending on strain it will start around 1250 ppm at the .5 conversion. i usually steer the solution down by then anyway.

that is exactly what it looked like, i thought i was having deficiencies at first and i couldn't control it. after a bit i decided to pull the plants to inspect roots but i didn't see anything on the roots, but there were lots of gnats on the surface. guess ill have to kill and start over.

I was successful with orthene/Riptide. It's a trick figuring out how to flood a ppk system for a root soak but I got it done and I'm happy to report no root aphids or dead girls.

I've had great success running the 4' t5 banks. That being said, if you're growing trees, vertical lighting in veg is preferred. I'll be switching to vertical veg again soon.

I have a 15' x 15' room and a 12 plant limit. I was planning to use the 70qt muck buckets with 7 gal feed dishes but now I'm starting to rethink that. Should I go with the 40qt buckets and smaller feed dish?

Probably the larger, but do you have a goal?
The smaller rig is good for plant up to about 1.5 pounds, the larger rig for about 3 pounds.
